I simply do not have the words to describe what a wonderful experience I had with Rincon Auto Repair! It's always no fun to walk out and find fluid under your vehicle. I thought it was coolant (which it was) and was even able to find a location where I thought it was leaking. I called Rincon and he helped me diagnose the problem. He could have said "just bring it in", but instead, he walked me through some troubleshooting. He also could have said to just drive it straight there, but out of safety and care for my vehicle, he wanted to make sure my vehicle had enough coolant to make the drive to his shop (who does that these days?). And what a shop it is! Close, convenient, behind a locked gate with security cameras, and a very clean and presentable shop. Someone who takes this good of care of his own things will certainly do the same with your vehicle! He pressure tested the system, determined the faulty component (water pump), and gave an honest, and VERY accurate cost of repair. Everything communicated simply and clearly over the phone. I gave the "go ahead" and Rincon's team went to work and got my vehicle back on the road in less than 2 days! Time to get my vehicle looked at: less than 1 hour. Time to get a phone call with diagnosis: less than 4 hours. Work began immediately (even with a rare snow/ice storm in progress!). And in a day and a half, I was picking up my vehicle and paying exactly what he quoted. His business card states "working hard to earn your trust". Rincon auto repair did both! If I could give zero stars, I would. Romeo at Rincon auto is the most unprofessional, dishonest and rude service provider I've ever encountered. We paid a lot of money and he messed my teenage sons truck up even worse. When asked for more of an understanding of what he did to repair anything...he yelled at me and told me "come pick up the fucking truck" then hung up on me. I again tried to speak to him again and he hung up on me for the 2nd time. My son's truck made it two minutes down the road from Romeo's shop and he broke down on the freeway and could have been severely injured or worse. Please DO NOT use this shop. As another review has stated....if I can save one person from what we went through, then I hope people see this. This guy is so unprofessional and rude and put my child's life in danger. Please choose another shop. Nobody deserves to be treated the way we were treated. I will be escalating this to my attorney and the BBB. This guy shouldn't even be able to have a business. The only way to enter less than one star is to not review at all. Which would be a disservice for potential customers looking for a shop to take care of their car or truck. I chose to take my wife's car to Rincon based on two factors. One being a local shop, and I prefer to do business locally whenever possible and support my community. (As I am a local small business owner also). Two, the google reviews. Which I am starting to wonder if these 5-star reviews were purchased for the sake of increasing their rating. I'm sure some probably had a good experience, and I am sure they are good mechanics. But from a business standpoint, Romeo is amongst the most unprofessional, condescending, unethical business owners I have met. After Romeo quoted me a lump sum price for a part replacement, I asked for a breakout of materials and labor. (Which is common practice to begin with, and well within the rights of the customer to request and receive prior to authorizing work). Romeo's immediate response was along the lines of "if you can't afford it, then come pick up the car". When I clarified my request again to obtain a formal quote, he began to raise his voice to the point I told him "There was no reason to yell and get upset. I am only asking for the details of the quoted work." I ultimately decided not to have Rincon perform the part replacement on the car due to the nature of this conversation. When I went to pick up the car the next day, I was charged with what I consider a very high price for the diagnosis, and an oil change (which I had him do while the car was there at his shop in conjunction with diagnosis). It was a lump sum price for these two activities, and when I asked, "what was the price of the oil change, and what was the price of the diagnosis", he refused to provide that information. And proceeded to argue with me from a position that I am the dumb customer, and he is the smart mechanic. Thank you for assuming Romeo, but I am perfectly capable of performing the work on the car myself. (Oh, and I did know the issue before bringing it to you for your diagnosis. You didn't discover that, you only confirmed it) The only reason I looked to take the car to a shop was a personal time factor. And I selected the wrong one. I now have the car back and will do the work myself. Only after spending more money than I had to, to receive nothing in return other than a headache and a story. The only thing I regret worse than taking my car over to Romeo, was ever contacting them in the first place. If this review turns just one potential customer away from Rincon Auto and spares them the headache of dealing with this arrogant business owner, this is time well spent. Maybe he was just having a bad couple of days, but I doubt it. Tread cautiously if you consider doing business here. It would have been great if Rincon could have performed the work on the car, and I wanted them to. But the disrespect, poor customer service, resistance to transparency, no common courtesy and lack of professionalism, it was a hard pass. I am not just a keyboard warrior, hiding behind a screen writing a negative review. I told Romeo, in person, while picking up the car that I would never attempt to do business with him again and would never refer anyone to his shop that was in need of repairs or maintenance. His response was basically, "good, I don't care". So, this is me following through on my position. As for me and my small business, I strive to serve my customers to the best of my ability with dignity and respect. Regardless of whether we can come to an agreement on the services or not. And I expect the same in return when choosing to do business with other local providers. I expect there to be a "response by the owner" on my post. But I can guarantee it won't be from the hands of the shop owner. Most likely it will come from a designated responder who monitors these reviews for damage control. My father took his diesel work truck had rotors and other work done to it. Charged an arm and a leg. Took the truck to other mechanic now because same issue happened. They checked rotors and other parts the issue happened again because cheap parts where installed but charged as A-1 parts workmen ship I'm happy with but if u are going to charge an arm and leg but quality parts. read more

I was referred to Rincon's Automotive by a local Automotive shop due to them not having space to repair my vehicle. I spoke with Romeo, he informed me that he could repair my vehicle, so had towing service to drop it off, that was on Friday. He said he'd contact me on Monday which he did and quoted a price of 7,900 to replace engine. He called me back a few days later and had changed the price to 9,800. So I told him to install it. He then called again stating oh I forgot to include labor(what kind of businessman does this) so it's going to cost you 12,000 to install engine. At that point I decided not to proceed with process. He told me that he would buy the vehicle for 1,200. I told him I'd think on it and get back with him. So, decided to sell, but hadn't had title switched into my name because I had recently purchased it from another gentleman. So, had to have other gentleman to sign paperwork, which he did, but didn't notice that he was supposed to also print name which was a huge inconvenience due to gentleman residing in Wimberley. So was forced to make 2 separate trips which took about 2 hours for trips to and from shop to previous owner's home. I asked if I could print the gentleman's name since he saw the man had already signed it. He said yes, but I will take 200.00 off price if you sign it. I told him no way! I took paperwork to previous owner to have him print his name. I did nada on vehicle, and with new engine Romeo could sell for around 15 grand. I feel I taken to the cleaners by Romeo. He knew that I didn't reside in area, so was hard to move to another Automotive shop in such short notice, and was told by Romeo that if it wasn't moved by Friday June 23rd he would start charging storage fees. He knew that he had me between a rock and hard spot! So, I felt I was forced to sell it to him for dirt cheap. Yet, knew he probably already had a buyer for vehicle! He took advantage of my situation, and Of a senior citizen. He may have good reviews, and I don't understand how! This whole situation was very shady. God doesn't like ugly, and feel Romeo will reap what he sows... I wouldn't recommend Rincon Automotive to anyone after all the turmoil he put me through! read more

We had a brake issue as we headed to Ft Worth. Thought it best to yelp someone that could potentially assist us. Stopped at Rincon and Romeo was kind enough to put us on the rack and fix the problem on the spot. Awesome service, repaired, and on the road in just over an hour.
