This is the second time I've stopped by Martinez tire for a flat repair. The first time, they repaired my son's tire (run flat) on his BMW (after waiting an hour at discount they would not touch it). Martinez had it fixed in less than 15 min. During this visit, I brought in a company car to have a flat repaired. It was fixed in less than 30 minutes with none of the BS run around that you expect at DT. Customer service is always great and they have a huge selection of tires. This place sucks! I went in to get a tire repaired today. They opened at 8am, i sat and waited till they pulled the Porsche and the lightening truck out of the bays....went in and said I needed a tire repaired. He said ull it in the second bay and my guys will repair it for you.......well. 8:15 first guy strolls in, 8:25 another guy strolls in. The 2 guys and manager are ba k and forth across the shop several times, pulled another Porsche out and parked it, never talked to me. Sat there fpr over 40 minutes with no service!!! I wouldn't take a bicycle there for repairs. Went up to Villasenor's (where i should have gone anyway) and they had me fuxed up in 10 minutes. Don't waste your time on this place​ read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I am a local resident in Bulverde and decided to support a local business that has recently been open the last couple of years. WORST decision I have ever made. Juan Martinez is the owner of Martinez tire and Auto and he scammed me out of $1,554.00. I purchased two special order rear tires for my luxury vehicle from his shop. Fast forward to beginning of October when I needed two new front tires I was told by discount tire & MB of SA that my rear tires needed to be replaced! These tires were supposed to last 30,000 miles and I just purchased them 6 months ago from Juan Martinez in Bulverde. I have only driven my vehicle 6,000 miles since I purchased them from him in April and they are almost completely bald and need to be replaced. All the tire shops I have been to for a 2nd and 3rd opinion have stated that these are defective tires to only last 6,000 miles I brought this to Mr. Martinez attention and he became very defensive and argumentative and offered nothing to accommodate me. He said "there is nothing I can do" "we do not honor defective tires unfortunately". I made a fair attempt to work with him on replacing them or even prorating a reimbursement for the defective tires that prematurely needed replacement. All Juan Martinez cares about is recieving his dollar amount and not taking care of his customers after selling very expensive defective tires. Customers beware!!!!! read more

From the day I dropped the car off to the day I picked it up, was a nightmare of an experience. It only took 6 months though sooooo.... Inept management and mechanics and that's being generous. The vehicle is in worse shape now than it was when I brought it in. Ownership refused to communicate or respond to calls, texts and in person visits. The most unprofessional business I've dealt with in a good while. I wouldn't trust this place to adjust the handle bars on a kid's scooter.. Proceed with caution! read more

Martinez presented me with several price options depending on my budget to repair my brakes. They completed the work with in a few hours on a Saturday. Got a quote on the phone for $40 mount and balance and went in when my tires came a couple days later, the guy had to call someone and he told me it's an additional $20 to mount and balance. When I questioned it he said it is what it is, so not much to say. Poor experience. read more

I recently needed a CURT 13427 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2-inch Receiver installed on my SUV and decided to take it to Martinez Tire & Auto Center. Initially, when I inquired about the cost, I was told the installation would range from $150 to $300, depending on the job's difficulty. Since I was supplying the parts, I expected this to be a labor-only charge. I dropped off my SUV at 8:25 am, and around 12:22 pm, I called to check on the status. They informed me that the job wouldn't be completed until after 3 pm due to other ongoing work. Needing to pick up my kids from school, I said I'd come to pick up the vehicle, but they asked for a moment to check on the status and promised to call me back. At 1:10 pm, I received a call saying they were finishing up the job. When I asked for the cost, they quoted me $300. I inquired about their labor rate, and they mentioned it was $140 an hour. Given that CURT estimates the installation time to be 45 ($105 at $140 rate, plus tax) to 90 ($210 at $140 rate, plus tax) minutes, I questioned how the charge could be so high, especially since I had already removed the spare tire and outer housing before dropping off the SUV. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, another person informed me the charge was actually $250. I asked how long the job had taken, but they couldn't give me a specific answer, stating instead that installing a trailer hitch is considered a non-mechanical service and is charged as a flat fee--not a labor rate, which is completely different from what I was told initially. While I'm sure the Bulverde location of Martinez Tire & Auto Center does quality work, I strongly recommend getting a clear and confirmed understanding of how they will charge you for any service before proceeding. The inconsistency in their pricing and the unclear communication left me feeling uncertain about the final bill. read more
