Interesting and great concept. I think they need to fine tune a few things and it will be a golden business idea. What I love: - Ingredients! They buy locally as much as possible. Organic and non-GMO for the most part. - Unique idea. I give them credit for creating a niche market. - Flavor. I bought the Matcha green tea donut and the green tea flavor was strong and pronounced. - Packaging. Each donut comes in nice plastic wrapped packaging with a simplistic label. - Service was nice. Helpful folks and eager to win the hearts and stomachs of their customers. What I thought could use some improvement: - Texture. As I removed the donut from the plastic wrap I right away felt that this was more of a bread than a donut. My first bite, was the same impression. It tastes and feels more like bread than a donut. Just because it was cut in the shape of a donut, doesn't make it a donut. - Price/value. At $2.50 for a small donut, I just can't see myself coming back for repeat business. If I'm going to crave a donut on a cheat day or cheat meal then it's going to be a real donut. Sorry guys, I tried to like it but it just didn't win me over. read more

These donuts are too expensive for donuts. That said, they're not really typical donuts. They're donut shaped, but in terms of texture and flavor, they kind of fall into some other category. You'll probably want to stay away from this place, if you're looking for a few dozen donuts for some event, or something. But they're good. And if you treat this place as more of a coffee shop, the prices are appropriate. And on the topic of coffee, try their matcha and chocolate drinks. They're excellent. read more

This place is AWEEEESOME! Yesterday I was searching around dessert on yelp and came across RING. But I wasn't able to make It since it was already too late of the night. So this morning I decided to finally try! Walked in. SO CUTE!! It's Totoro vibes and yknow ya girl loves Totoro! Greeted by the workers (super sweet) I ordered a vegan banana and chocolate for my boyfriend and I had the red velvet and chocolate chip to my self. Came out really quick in a cute packaging I believe all 4 donuts only costed me less than 11$. Ok let me start off with the chocolate chip... first impression it's small yet so fluffy! When I had my first bite I was SHOOK. It was so delicious that I devoured it with in a minute. Then I knew I had to stop my self from eating all flavors before getting home to my boyfriend. When I got home I ran to my bf and told him he had to try the vegan ones ASAP. He had the bite of banana and I took some of his... TASTES LIKE BANANA NUT BREAD AND IT SMELLS LIKE IT... if you like banana nut bread this donut is for you! Then we had the vegan chocolate the scent of it reminded us of brownies.. when we took a bite it was so rich in chocolate almost tasted like a brownie that was made out of dark chocolate! It was delicious. As I'm writing this review I'm about to try the red velvet which I can already tell its going to be amazing. I'll definitely be returning and I love the vibe and the people here! It's about time I write a review for Ring, geez whiz, I'm long over due. The hubs and I have been coming since opening and have had many kinds of tofu rings and drinks. For a while there I was set on Earl Grey and Green Tea Rings. Then, I came across speciality flavors like Ujikintoki (combo of: Azuki & Matcha) and most recently, Apricot and those were killer. As for their drinks, everything I've tasted has been de-li-cious! Iced sea salted coffee was my go to drink for a while there. To mix things up a bit ive also tried iced seal salted chocolate, iced green tea and lately since I've been calorie counting I've been getting there 18-hour iced coffee, black. Speaking of calories, rings are approximately 180-calories. The owner is super, an awesome, helpful, sweet & smiley doode. They really put a lot into their brand and stand behind a yummy product. Love that they take the time to buy local and organic ingredients. Parking is in the back of the building where there's a separate entrance that takes you through the lobby office of building. Really enjoyed the brief stop by this shop. It's not really a place to hang out. If you're looking for donuts, there are a bit different. They're shaped like mini donuts but remind me more of Madeleine's with a spongier texture. They're pretty good but what makes this place great is the owners. Really nice and just by their greeting, you hope they become a great success. It's rare these days to meet such polite people. I liked the honey. It was very delicate and reminded me of sweets I get when I'm in Japan. The maple bacon was like a pancake. I wanted to dunk it in some syrup. I also had the 18 hour cold brewed iced coffee. Huge fan!! Not so fond of the location. I hope they find a spot at the new shopping center being built south of topanga shopping center. At $2.50 a piece I thought it was a bit pricey but then when I read the ingredient list and sources, I see why. I'd pay that price to eat food made with quality locally developed products. Cute little snack/treat spot for gluten free donuts. As stated in their name, they are baked, not fried and eat like a cake. Super yummy, but if you're looking for a typical super sweet and fried donut, this is not it. I love that they are subtly sweet and the flavors are not overbearing. My go-to flavors: honey, banana and pumpkin spice, though I'm he later is a seasonal flavor. Ingredients are clean so I don't feel so guilty about having this treat :). High quality ingredients, delicate but depthful flavors. So far I've enjoyed matcha green tea, red velvet, azuki red bean, honey, earl grey, chocolate, pumpkin, hojicha, banana bread, pumpkin spice, lemon, blueberry, maple bacon, apricot, ujikintoki, cheese, poppy seed, and probably a few more that I can't remember anymore; regardless of what you pick, the flavors have authentic depth, without being too sweet; they're always perfectly fluffy, spongy and moist Their iced matcha sea salt green tea lattes are downright, thirst-quenchingly delicious! The quality of ingredients in here really shines; there's nothing complex happening here, but it's just done oh so well, with high quality ingredients and alkaline water. Give it a good shake before you pop that straw in, and it's got all of the creamy, vegetal umami goodness, with a just-right sweetness accentuated by the sea salt. This place isn't for everyone, and I certainly wouldn't convince someone to come here by telling them it's going to replace their love of donuts, because it's just too different. If anything, I wish we had a Mister Donut when it comes to Japanese donuts (those mochi rings though). Ring makes something donut-esque, and in a lot of ways, much, much greater. Everything about this place oozes artisan passion, from the food, to the drinks, the etched tables, and even the wooden panels attached to the restroom keys. I tried this for the first time today and really enjoyed it. I got the sea salt iced coffee and double chocolate donut. The worker was very friendly and welcoming when I walked in and explained the ingredients in the donut. As a type 1 diabetic, I typically do not eat donuts as much as I'd wish, but I thought I would let myself cheat today. So I got the double chocolate donut and had it warmed up. Like everyone says, do not expect it to taste like your typical donut, since it is made of tofu and other different ingredients. You definitely cannot taste any tofu, and it's not overwhelmingly sweet, but sweet enough to satisfy a craving. The texture is very soft and sort of cake like. The coffee was my favorite. It has a strong coffee flavor which I like, and for the price, it beats an expensive Starbucks iced latte. This place is worth a try for anyone who may have dietary restrictions and wants to have a little dessert every now and then. But even if you just like food, come here anyway! Location/Parking: Ring is kind of hidden if you're driving down owensmouth. It's located in the same building as the L.A. County Mental Health Services, so if you see the L.A. County symbol, you're in the right place. Parking is free and there are 2 entrances. You can enter through the front from Owensmouth, or if you park in the back of the lot, just go through the building, there will be a sign as soon as you open the door. This cute donut shop seems displaced in the valley, but I'm sure glad it was. This place specializes in tofu donuts. The donuts are moist, cakey, less sweet, and baked. I just had one a few days after I purchased it, and it still tastes as good as the first day. I also ordered sea salt coffee while I was here. It's very similar to the coffee from 85 degrees, but I like this one better because it's less sweet and has a stronger coffee flavor. I was lucky enough to win a second free sea salt coffee and the guy working was nice enough to let me redeem it the same day. For the month of march they're doing a promotion where you can roll a pair of dice after purchase and if you get any double numbers you win a prize! My friend was also very lucky and won a $30 gift certificate on her roll. I really like the modern/wooden decor in here. I think it would help a lot of they added more tables to turn this into a cafe where people could hang out or study at. There's parking in the back of the building. It can be a little confusing because the shop is at the bottom of all these office buildings. read more

Really tasty donutlike pastries. They don't register as ACTUAL DONUTS for me, but rather as little ring-shaped cakes. However, they are quite delicious. My girlfriend and I split a small box for breakfast in the car, and enjoyed all of them: blueberry, maple bacon, rum raisin, etc. Everything was wonderful. The french press coffee was by far the best coffee I've had in a while, and my girlfriend's sea-salt iced coffee was light on the salt and incredibly tasty, despite my aversion to the EVERYTHING-WITH-SEA-SALT fad. This place makes me happy. I get the vegan banana bread donut and it's delicious and makes me happy. I get the matcha iced green tea with soy and it makes me happy. My items are always served with a warm smile and it makes me happy. The decor is swanky and it makes me happy. I've had nibbles of the other donut flavors. My favorite is the apricot. I guess I'm partial to the fruity ones. It's evident that a lot of care has been put into this whole establishment, and I really appreciate it. The coffee and tea are super stellar. I'm a coffee/tea person and they meet my snobby standards. They use alkaline water, and I understand there is some controversy regarding whether this makes any difference to the taste of coffee/tea, but I'm on board with whatever they're doing here. It's yummy. I'm not even sure where else to go in the Valley for a good matcha iced tea. The donuts here are not like the average American fried OR baked donut. Expect something more like a sweet bread or cake. The texture is very pleasant - something a little spongy, but not so chewy as a Mr. Donut (Japanese or Taiwanese style) donut. This is the kind of donut that you can eat plenty of without feeling guilty. The tofu donuts are baked and made with all organic ingredients. Rice flour, the kind that is used to make Japanese mochi, is used to give the donuts their delicate sweetness, chewiness, and moistness that you wouldn't expect from a "traditionally" baked donut. My mom and I ordered their French Press (delicious), iced sea salt matcha green tea (even more delicious), and half a dozen donuts (matcha green tea, red bean, espresso, and maple bacon). The iced drinks are heat sealed with a plastic film. When I shook my drink, there was a leak and my drink spilled onto the table. It wasn't a huge mess, but the employees took notice and immediately came to my aid with napkins and were extremely apologetic. I wasn't upset because it really wasn't a big mess or inconvenience at all. They gave me a pumpkin donut (seasonal flavor) on the house, which they really didn't have to, but it was a very much appreciated gesture. I like the rings and beverages this place sells. Having lived in Japan for several years, I find it very authentic and nostalgic. I would not go into this shop expecting the best donuts you've ever had. If you compared their rings to a traditional donut, your approach is misled. The Japanese prefer sweets that aren't particularly sweet in comparison to American counterparts, so both the rings and drinks may not suit your expectations in sugary delights. However, if you can enjoy something unique and find healthy versions of food to be worth the trade off in price, then this place will find you a regular. The rings are smaller than traditional donuts. The flavors are muted, but unique and clean. Very Japanese. The location is fine, not well suited as a sit down place. The owners are quintessentially Japanese: kind, friendly, extra-mile service, respectful, humble, wait to be called upon (also very Japanese) and simply the type of people you don't mind supporting by frequenting their business. I really like this place. My husband and toddler sons were less impressed, bc they like the traditional sugary donuts. I walked in to this place not knowing what to expect, it was a most pleasant surprise. Their donuts are like individual art pieces with several flavors to choose from. I had the maple bacon, red velvet, and honey donuts. The shop is chic and refreshing, you can see the hard work, design, and attention to detail that was put in to the shop. Customer service is great, the lady at the counter offered to warm my donut and provided nothing less than service with a smile. Additionally, a real treat, their Sea Salt Iced Coffee. A unique and exotic coffee experience for this area, where Starbucks and 7-11 dominate the coffee landscape. This place is one of my go-tos! As someone who was recently diagnosed with a gluten/wheat allergy, it was imperative for me to find something to satisfy my glutinous donut cravings. Found and fell in love with this place, and will make the 30-minute drive out to grab donuts and coffee every ow and again. These are light and cakey, and it has such a fresh flavor. It was wonderful to find a sweet food that wasn't keeping me up all night feeling sick! The flavors are pretty subtle, so you might be disappointed if you expect them to stand out a lot. But my favorite flavors (having tried everything on the menu) include earl grey, chocolate chip and matcha. They also have vegan flavors as well and are individually packaged, which made these a great allergy-friendly addition to a recent bridal shower I was a part of. :) Also, THE BEVERAGES ARE AMAZING. The sea salt iced coffee/chocolate/matcha are all to die for. The yuzunade is also fantastic. My father was a fan of the 18-hrs cold brew, but I've not had it myself yet. i came by a sunny Tuesday afternoon to pick up some baked goods. Ive been wanting to try this place simply because its a healthier alternative to donuts. Unlike regular deep fried donuts, these are baked and with the use of tofu. I was honestly, somewhat skeptical because i am not the biggest fan of tofu. But, thought i'd gvie it a try before judging. Parking around was not hard to find, I parked in nearby alley way. The walk was about 2 minutes. Very cute little store. I got a box of half of dozen for %15. Not a bad deal if you really think about how healthy this is compared to others. I decided to also order the sea salt matcha iced tea. It is honestly, only of the lighest and most flavorful drinks I have ever had. The balance between the sea salt and matcha complimented one another quite well. I have tried the blueberry baked donut thus far and it is AMAZING. It tastes just like a regular cake donut, but so much softer. Microwave it for about 5-10 seconds and it tastes fresh out the oven. I think it is a bad thing for me because I am about a 10-15 min drive away.. haha. But, definitely will come back. Employees were super nice as well. read more

This little shop is a gem. I stumbled upon it when I was in the neighborhood. This place is apparently known for their tofu donuts. However I was craving a coffee, so I ordered their Sea Salt coffee. And let me just say, it was amazing!!! It was $3.75 but the coffee cup is fairly big. (Like a grande at starbucks) This is a must try! It's creamy, with a strong dose of caffeine, and just a little sea salt kick to it. One star off because there were no customers when I ordered, but it still took about 5 minutes for my coffee to be made. read more

My coworker and I have been a regular here. Since then we try to come here very often. We work down the street so it's been nice to take a walk every morning and get our cup of coffee. We wish one day they'll expand there menu by opening up to boba flavors and perhaps adding sandwiches bc my coworker and I are always looking for a place that's walking distance that serves fresh breakfast/lunch to go. ;) We absolutely love everything. They have beautiful modern atmosphere. The couple who manages there business here are always friendly. We would always order the Sea Salt ice coffee. Just recently tried there limited ice coffee Cinnamon and Pumpkin spice. They are awesome. Just remember to always shake and mix them before punching your straw into them. I myself likes to add on and try there fresh, delicious bake tofu donuts. So far I've tried all of there classic donuts and you can really taste all the different flavors. The donuts are very soft, moist, and you can request to reheat them. They also have limited flavors that are also a MUST try! They're very delicious.
