Quality: 5/5 - They are definitely made to order because they were still warm when we started eating them! How incredible! They were light and a little more of a east coast donut but still with enough pockets in the inside to not feel like it was too heavy to eat. Creativity: 5/5 - If you don't know what you ordered you'll need a legend to see what you're eating. If anything I'd add that as a suggestion to include inside a takeaway box. The donuts are fresh and delicious, and you can even watch them being made, which is really cool. I didn't catch the guy's name, but he was super friendly and took his time crafting each donut--he's like an artist, carefully applying the glaze and toppings before placing them in a sleek black box. I am 95% refined sugar free as of Jan '23 so I do ask a lot of q's to see what sweet spots align with this lifestyle. However, I was fascinated when I read that this store specialized in taro donuts cooked in coconut oil. I got a Strawberry Fields Donut and was so impressed to see the employees making the donut right in front of me. I have to note that the employees were incredibly friendly and explained each step of the process as they were cooking my donut. After a brief wait, I ate my piping hot donut. (5 stars) was my favorite because I love the combination of pineapple, orange, and guava. It reminded me of the signature juice combination that I would regularly have in Hawaii. Donuts are made-to-order, so it came out warm and surprisingly quick! As others have mentioned, the donuts are on the smaller side and most closely resemble a "cake donut" that is dense and chewy. The donut was good and well-balanced -- but I can't say it was anything particularly different from other glazed caked donuts I've had in the past, yet for a higher price. It was solid. Note: despite being taro-based, there was no lingering taro flavor. I look forward to come back and try their more specialty flavors. They have another location in Santa Monica and you can order online (might be hard to find their online ordering link on their website but I found it -- they want you to download their app).
