I just realized Flour Fresh Cream Donut has another location on La Brea, but this spot has a very cute exterior with pink walls. It's very inviting and I was curious what these donuts tasted like. The sweet potato donut was my favorite. It wasn't too sweet and had a great sweet potato filling. My second favorite was the cookies and cream, which features a great cookies and cream filling inside. I also tried the chocolatella, which had a mousse-like filling and was just okay. The last one I tried was the s'mores and it was my least favorite because it had no filling and tasted pretty mediocre. I'd like to come back and try some of their other fun flavors like the tiramisu. read more

This place is freaking amazing when it comes to service and donuts. Tucked in Rodeo Galleria at Western Plaza, this unassuming cafe is just a perfect dessert spot after having lunch. They have such a huge range of donut flavors, every time I go, I want to just get a big ole box of all the donuts. The last time I went, I ordered four donuts: black sesame, tiramisu, blueberry, and injeolmi. My husband, who doesn't even usually like sweets said his favorite was the black sesame out of all the donuts. I enjoyed all of the cream donuts and destroyed all of them within the day!!! I liked that the cream inside the black sesame and the injeolmi also had some red bean inside. That was a nice touch. The taste was subtle, not too crazy sweet, and super light. They sell super tasty creme filled donuts, I can say these are the best ones I've had in SoCal, including knotted. Their fillings are all very flavorful without any artificial taste (light, fresh, and perfect in temperature -cold). Place was inside a big building that reminded me of Zion supermarket but it was not. The staff was attentive and nice. Donut prices range between $4.75- 5.75 here, a coffee shop near by also sell their donuts for $8. All Brulee donuts were hard to cut through if you planned on sharing with others. Caramelized sugar top were all torched to hard tops. Donuts weren't as fluffy as I would like them to be but very aesthetic and great as a dessert gift. Creme Brulee -caramelized sugar top was crispy and not too thick. Custard filling wasn't too sweet. Matcha Brulee -matcha was quite strong and a little bitter. Caramelized sugar top was the thickest of the 3 we ordered. Overall wasn't too sweet if you eat everything together. Coffee Brulee -a little sweet with caramelized sugar top and coffee filling together. Pistachio -very good, tons of crushed pistachio throughout cream. Tasted like real pistachio rather than pistachio syrup flavoring. Sweet Potato Cream -personally my favorite out of the 9 we ordered. If you have had the viral Korean sweet potato bread and love it, you'll love this one too. Filling is similar but not as thick as Korean sweet potato bread. Smores -very cute with the 2 teddy grams and torched marshmallow. Cream filling was just heavy whipping cream. Least favorite, an ordinary chocolate dipped cream filled donut. He is a fan of jelly donuts and these artistic and novelty flavor filled donuts would be the morning treat to commemorate his day of birth plus 33 years. Meaning that these donuts are accessible enough to be a normal treat but fancy enough to be served on a day of occassion and excess. As shown in the sole picture in this review, the donuts came in a lovely pink box arranged almost like gems, rubies, and sapphire drops. I ordered a total of nine, and each of them was poised and positioned to be picture perfect, just as they came. They were models ready for the runway. When I opened the box, the lovely smell of baked goods hit me in such a wonderful way that I knew that my taste buds were about to try something new and exciting--- they were eager for the treat, like kids at a backyard boogie ready for the cake to be cut, He chose first, I chose second. I tried the coffee creme brûlée donut and it was love at first bite! When donuts are recently fried they taste like morning glory! But this donut had that dough-ey, donut goodness, fresh from the frier taste but deepened. Imagine this fried donut taste intensify from delicious to wondrous. All of my coworkers who had a donut said that they enjoyed their donut. One made a point of showing me that she had already looked up the location and was planning to go one day. Will she? Who knows but she made a point of showing intention, and that in itself is another point of love for this place. After I finished my donut, I felt like I had enjoyed sweetened air. I ate something, I enjoyed something, but did not feel like I had eaten through gulps and swallows. I had eaten by taste and flavor. Eating the donut was messy too. I took a big bite and the filling inside dripped on my desk. I had to get paper towels not to clean a mess but to pick up remnants of love spilled. Came here pretty close to closing and they only really had the blacks sesame left. First impressions were beautiful looking donuts though as not a big fan of donuts because they are typically heavy but these were quite the opposite. When I'm in this area I always go to this center because I order gimbap from one of the stalls inside this place. As I was waiting for my order I checked out this store as it was new. There's a food place I go to for gimbap (I think it's really good) and on the opposite side there's another food stall for Togo and some dine in space. There's also a good optometry shop - Gold optometry that sells also high end brand of eyewear. There's also a little stall in the back where I had my earrings repaired.
