I was pleasantly surprised at the design of the skate park…read more Near the entrance, there was a quick shallow bowl. In the middle, more of a street section with ledges, and toward the back, a steep wall. The concrete seemed really smooth, and there didn't seem to be any problems with cracks or parts that didn't fit. I didn't see the rules, but I only saw one scooter rider and no inline skaters. There were many skateboard riders and they were making use of everything. Usually, I see rules that keep out one of the four at different parks. There didn't seem to be lights, but I was told not to be there after dark anyway.

This skate park is located in Logan Heights. I am not a skate park kind of person. I am more of a…read morefoodie and barfly kinda girl. That being said, I came here because a friend was visiting from out of town and her son wanted to go visit some skate parks. He googled several skate parks in San Diego. He found this one since it was centrally located and not too far from the hotel they were staying at. So I drove them over to this skate park. It is located ina residential community. And near the Boys & Girls Club. We found street parking very easily. When we exited the car and the kid started to enter the skate park. There was a bench occupied by a bunch of guys near the entrance to the park. We walked in, the kid skated for about a half hour to 45 minutes. He said that the park had a lot of room and the concrete was smooth. There was only skateboarders out and about. Since this was a week day it wasnt crowded. Not sure if it gets crowded on ither days. We cut our time there a little short, since the group of guys who were sitting by the entrance lit up a few joints and were smoking up. I could care less. However trying to be respectable around the.two kids that we had aged 11 and 3. This was not entirely a good environment so we left. Glad to see that oolder youlth today had no problems smoking up in front of other little.kids and setting a stellar example. We later went to a different skate park.

First let me say that I have no qualms with "ghetto" neighborhoods. I was born and raised in a…read more"ghetto" neighborhood so I can handle the sketchy local shenanigans but what I can't handle is broken glass in the sand. Of course unsupervised parks will lend itself to underage gang activity, drugs, and alcohol consumption during certain hours but not 24/7. I've seen the same trash and the same broken glass perpetuate in the same spots for days. PARK MAINTENANCE: Please get it together! Another big turn off is the homeless camp situation. This wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't for all the beers, cigarette butts, and rivers of piss. I walked a lap around the park with my dog and I was worried about all the boogeymen laying about. Also, like some have mentioned, this park does not carry poop bags so you have to bring your own. I wish this park was safer and cleaner because I live down the street and I was looking forward to walking at a park without having to drive out.

I don't play sports anymore but the skate park looks awesome and the fields are pretty nice too. I have yet to see anyone with a needle in their arm here, occasional weed smoke...but it's legal and no worse than cigarette smoke. Some people need to grow up.
