I had a good experience here. I felt that my stylist listened to me and understood my hair goals. It's a very cute place inside a hotel. I did need some help finding the place, so when you walk in, You have to go up the escalator , then use the far far elevator to get to the gym area. My hair leaving was fabulous. They use their own products. The products work nicely. I love the foam! I would have to say there isn't much hold to the products so my hair did frizz a bit early than expected. Now that I know the products better , I use them strategically. I do have to use a topper gel to give me a little more longevity, but their products give a very soft flowy set. I definitely recommend the products -it's black owned , operated and founded! and I recommend the stylist as well. It's expensive for sure, but I also walked away purchasing a few products. read more

I give Morgan a 5/5 she's super sweet and friendly. I was very specific about how I wanted my hair and she didn't do too much. She was able to give it the shape that it needed. I usually don't like how hair dressers style my curly hair(as I was hesitant about booking the transformation service) , but I really liked the end result. I also liked the products used. They left my hair feeling super clean, light and soft. My hair had so much bounce when I left. If I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely get my hair cut by Morgan again. Have always heard good things an know many whove visited and love this salon. Grew my hair out for a couple of years before i went to see them. I was important to me to give them something to work with. My appointment started out well. Mindy was running a little behind-not a big deal even though my she seemed to be moving around in a hurry. Book she gave me to select a curly cut had about 8 different pics but no one with a texture close to mine (3c, 4a). All were pics of loose curl patterns. She said its important to cut hair where it lives. I took her at her word. My Fredrick Douglas looking hair was cut dry without any product or combing other than the combing i did at home while wet. Clean, detangled hair with little to no product is a requirement per the stylist instructions on the website. I explained as best as i could what i wanted in the style. Mindy proceded to quickly chop my half semi-curly, half afro-ish type hair. Once she was done I felt it would be too short once it was styled with product and it was. No turning back but not a deal breaker. Then she shampooed and styled. I was supposed to be diffused but when she came to get me from under the dryer my hair was completely dry as there wasn't much hair there. She blows and fluffs. It look ok but felt amazingly good. 3 days later i noticed super long and super short strands after shampooing. Im talking 4 inch and less differnces. My hair did not look as if I had gotten a $300 cut or a supercut and im sure this drastic imprescision was noted during styling and not addressed. I was so distraught I wept and contcted the stylist i use to straighten and cut my hair to fix the jagged cut. She fit me in the next day but i had to go to work with feeling emembarrassed and another $150 lighter I contacted the salon via email but have not heard back. While I still believe Mindy does great hair especially straightened and looser patterns, I dont believe tight curls are her specially. It is my belief that cutting tight curl patterns dry without product where they live is a recipe for disaster. Highly disappointed read more

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I saw the page & thought they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately hair was cut unevenly & I cannot wear my hair in any other style besides a bun or down because you can see how uneven the cut is. I reach out to Morgan to get a partial refund because I have to get my hair fixed (another $250) it took her forever to respond to me and even after I sent pictures she took almost another two weeks to address my concern. I wasn't mean or nasty in the messages at all, so it seemed like she was avoiding me so she didn't have to take responsibility for my uneven hair cut & bangs. She did give me a partial refund , but it was way less than I was hoping because curly haircuts aren't cheap! She said that even her ponytail isn't all the way around, but Ive never had a haircut where my ponytail is so lopsided that everyone makes comments about it. It's really unfortunate that my hair came out so bad, cos I really wanted to like it there! Update! After the owner replied to my review she sent me a message. Morgan Taylor is VERY unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend her for a service. I scheduled an appointment with her a week in-advance, the deposit was accepted, but she canceled the morning of my appointment at 9:49am via text, which was an hour before my appointment time. I called her immediately after receiving her text several times to discuss via phone, the next steps to take, but she ignored my calls. I did not get a text back until 11:30 PM saying she will no longer be moving forward with my service. No explanation why nor was my deposit returned. read more

I really wanted to like this salon, but was not happy with my haircut ($275 + $43 tip) or the service. I requested to come back to get it cut more so how I wanted, showed up to my appointment, and got stood up. The front desk lady told me that my hairstylist would call me in a few minutes (texting the hairstylist in front of me) and I never got a call to make things right that day. The front desk lady sent me home. I got a message the next day saying her reason was "her brain wasn't working right" and to come back again. I had to get childcare and was stood up, unfortunately, I will not return after that. My hair is not easy to deal with, at all. It is curly, it is long, it's coarse and it's frizzy, oh an I'm tender-headed to boot! Trying to deal with it on a daily basis can be rough...making it look gorgeous for a fancy occasion is a downright nightmarish challenge! I woke up on the morning of my nephew's wedding feeling like I could make it look good myself since I had just gotten it professionally straightened the week prior. I looked in the mirror and quickly realized, "what am I thinking?!?!. I need to look good and I need help!! But I had no appointment anywhere and it was the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and I was already downtown at the Westin hotel and time was getting limited. I started making calls and I found they had immediate availability at Ringletts right across the street at the Hilton. It wasn't until I got there that I even realized they specialize in curly hair, that was a freebie bonus and make it feel a little like good karma . I had an appointment with Kake Jones (that's not a typo...her name is Kake). She was very nice and not intimidated at all by my frizzy, curly mane. She proceeded to start blowing out my hair and was gentle with my tender head. She made quick work of what other stylists have deemed a challenging job in the past. She engaged me in easy small talk and before I knew it, she was done. My hair was smooth and silky and so healthy looking ! I received tons of compliments from family and friends at the wedding! Some even said they barely recognized me because they've never seen my hair hanging so straight and so shiny. I was a little fearful at firstof how much this appointment would cost but I found it to be very moderate at about $45. Huge fan of Ringletts. This was the second curly hair salon I have visited since going natural and I love the care they take for your hair! I booked a DevaCut with stylist Christina Rogers and she was amazing. Since I had did my own big chop about a year ago, I had a lot of growth and I was looking to get my hair shaped into a cut that would allow me to wear my curly hair out and about more often. I had a lot of straggly ends that had to geaux! I was pretty terrified that all of my hair would have to come off since I hadn't had a trim in ages. Christina reassured me that I had nothing to worry about and gave me the most perfect cut! She did it dry and cut my hair curl by curl. Not only that, but she gave me various curly girl tips when it came to applying products, doing the perfect wash and go and overall maintenance. Not to mention, all of the ladies in the salon were courteous and have such colorful and warm personalities. It feels like going to the salon with all your girlfriends; not every salon has this great ambiance. I got way too many compliments on my natural hair since getting my DevaCut here! Ringletts express is really a great concept! It's located inside the Hilton Riverside's health club and they service the hotel guests as well as their loyal customers. Your appointment can be booked online through schedulecity and it's pretty user friendly. Mindy; the owner, has another location on Paris Ave.decided to venture out into the "busy-travel diva" lane. The salon has a real spa feel and is very trendy. They have two nail techs and about 5-6 hair stylists. I went for a gel manicure with Tiffany and she was very experienced and catering. They also serve happy hour beverages in the evening with your mani's and pedi's. My nails came out beautiful and I received lots of compliments on them. Some of their services include: Cuts by Mindy, Blowouts, highlights, flat irons, wash/dry/blow sets, express colors and express manicures and pedicures. They take most methods of payment and offer local discounts! I know what you're thinking, it's located in a hotel so it's going to be inconvenient--wonk--wonk--wonk!! Incorrect you are! Client's can park in the Hilton Riverside Self Park garage and take the elavators right to the 6th floor. Client's also receive free validation once you check out. Awesomesauce!!! We also hosted a diva party for the little one and it was spectacular! They allow you to come an hour before to set up and Mindy was kind enough to close the salon so it was just our party guests. The nail techs were very patient and friendly with our girls and even managed to give the two 5 month old diva's polishes!! It was a great experience and I would definitely host another event here. The mommies were in love with the concept and hosting this party was actually less stress than other nola locations. Ringletts Express is great if you are visiting and staying at the Hilton or even nearby but it's also ideal for locals who need a la cart therapy. read more

I was in NOLA for a wedding and needed my grey roots covered. I wear my hair naturally curly and I specifically looked for a salon that specializes in curly hair. My experience was not good. 1) My hair is dark brown and the beautician dyed my roots light brown. My hair is very noticeably two colors now w/lights roots are the remainder dark. It looks like an ombré dye job except it's not supposed to be that way. 2) After my hair was colored the beautician washed it and put in product. They didn't put any clips or anything else in my hair to create volume before sitting me under the dryer. When my hair was dry it was flat with no hold or style at all. Within an hour of leaving the salon my hair was frizzy. This is very different than the service I'm accustomed to receiving at my regular hair salon. I found the staff to be nice and professional. It reminded me of an old school salon where ladies are sitting around chatting while they get their hair done. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be very experienced in hair coloring or styling curly hair. I would not recommend this salon. read more

Very disappointed! I called to get directions once in the hotel, when I asked a question about the directions I was given I was told "no, I said...." Miranda was 15 minutes late and then the consultation was only 5 minutes long. I explained what all I needed help with and the products I have tried. Seriously, I've gone to countless stylists that can't untangle my hair or get it to hold and she did. DO NOT BOOK WITH KENDRA JARRELL. I booked her for a simple dry cut for reshaping and to take off very acute length. Mind you I showed her a picture of MY OWN hair from one year ago when I got my first deva cut at this same salon. I asked her to cut my hair the same length and shape as before. Not seconds after looking at the picture she abruptly cut a large chunk out of my hair and held it in her hand. I was devastated and the hair cut got no better as it went along. It was so bad that Kendra wrapped my hair back up into the scarf I arrived in instead of leaving the haircut out for everyone to see as you would normally do after getting your hair done. The owner Mindy gladly gave me my money back and criticized her work in front of me. The hair cut wasn't even evenly cut! One side was noticeably shorter than the other and the there was a large gap in my hair. The shape was also terrible and was not what asked for AT ALL. Mindy had to go over Kendra's work and salvage the terrible haircut as best as she could. I have been so depressed about this situation because prior to this visit I had a large curly afro that turned heads and got compliments daily! I took pride in my hair and now it feels like a part of me is missing sadly. Now I have a very short bowl cut that I am desperately waiting to grow out. read more

I'm from Southern California and though I've told the last three stylists I've gone to that I'd like a style I don't have to blow dry, they have always finished off with blowing out my hair. I was staying at the Hilton while my husband was at a conference and stopped by Ringletts for a pedicure with Kendra. She mentioned that my hair looked like it was naturally wavy and asked if I ever wore it that way. I explained my dilemma, and she squeezed me in for an appointment the next day. She explained all the things I was doing wrong (using a brush, squeezing it too hard when I was trying to scrunch dry it, etc.), showed me how to do it correctly, and even without a cut, had me leaving with gorgeous waves. Even after I slept on it and used my fingers to comb it out in the morning (as Kendra showed me!) it still looked great and I got several compliments from total strangers in the hotel and the airport. I've been a regular at ringletts for the past 4 years. i originally frequented the Paris location until recently moving closer to the Express location. I went in this past tuesday around 1:30pm. There weren't any other guest and i asked if it was possible to get a hair CUT. Long story short, after 5 long hours, several complaints later, and an extremely disappointing visit I'm still left with dry, brittle, split ends. It's 4 days later and i look like i possible have more split ends. I constantly reiterated that i wanted a hair CUT, not a trim and i didn't care about the length but the health of my hair. My stylist insisted she took off what needed to be cut and it's impossible to get ALL split ends without losing a good amount of length. No matter how many times i assured her, i need a CUT so the length isn't a concern of mine. She seemed almost afraid to cut my hair now that i look back on it. What a waste of time and money. Now i have to go somewhere else to get an actual hair cut and rid of my split ends. read more

I went to Ringletts on last week for color and highlights. The salon is very nice and the staff is extremely personable. However, my problem is/was with the color. Shortly after leaving my relative informed me that my hair was brown in the front and middle and black in the back. After a few days someone else said the same thing to me. At this point my highlights are now a brassy yellow and my hair is brittle. The owner/stylist offered to have me come in and fix it at no charge, however, I was extremely afraid of making it worst. After spending $185.00 plus tip, I had to then recolor my hair and treat it. I am frustrated because this was an expensive lesson. Also I am not sure if the young lady that mixed the color is licensed. She appeared to be in training. I'm not sure, however, I will not be going back.
