Dr. Danilo Dona is my parents doctor and I'm thankful that they have him. He is very intelligent, caring, thorough, and has a great bedside manner!! You also do not need an appointment to see Dr. Dona which is a plus! (However, because he takes walk ins, be prepared for and expect a long wait.) Offered a great sense of humor, a thorough and quick exam. Made sure to let us know we were cutting it close to pharmacy closing hours and made sure we had a paper copy of the prescription just in case it lagged in the pharmacy system to ensure we got what we needed that same night. We have been here a number of times now, and it is always the best experience. I called prior to our visit to ask about out copay and was audibly concerned and stressed, and the receptionist reminded me to take a deep breath, and let us know they'd get us taken care of before we even stepped foot in the door. If you're a local, this is the place to go for non emergency medical needs, 10/10.

I didn't have insurance, but it didn't seem to cost too much money to go there. When everything was all said and done, my bill was $880. For comparison, my one trip to the ER cost me $1,200 for basically an x-ray and a soft splint to hold me over. At Frenchtown Orthopedics, I had a dozen x-rays, two casts, and several visitations. Every time I went there, I was in and out in less than an hour. Melonakos recommended I get surgery on my foot since it was broken pretty bad and wasn't healing as fast, but I couldn't afford it. It took a long time for it to heal and be pain-free, but there was nothing I could do about it. With the $880 price tag when I was done, they gave me very reasonable repayment options: pretty much pay what I can within a reasonable time. They didn't add late fees or hound me to make absurd payments. I paid it off within a year. A few years later, I broke my toes and needed to see a foot specialist, but unfortunately, I didn't live in the area at the time.

I've never tried to call there without nearly an hour wait on the phone and today I was on hold for an hour and 45 minutes!! Especially when the last 45 minutes the recording said that there was "ONE person ahead of me ". I've been trying to get in touch about my prescription which is vital to my health. If they are that busy than might I suggest hiring at least another person if only to answer calls? They have been this way for the couple years I've gone there and only seems to get worse. I'm exhausted and STILL have no answers about my prescription!
