What sets her apart is her ability to create thoughtful, evidence-based plans that consider not only what is medically ideal, but also what is realistic for both you and your cat. Her care feels like a partnership rather than a prescription. You and your feline family will be grateful you found her.

I first heard of Kentwood Cat Clinic, but live north of GR. There was no way I was going to be able to make appointments there if I had to come home from work to pick up my cat, then drive all the way in the other direction for the vet. The Cat Clinic North (affiliated with Kentwood Cat Clinic) is also on the north side of town, much closer to my house. 2. Although my cat doesn't mind other animals, he's already on edge at the vet. When there are dogs barking in the waiting area he gets pretty freaked out. Since the Cat Clinic (obviously?) specializes in cats we don't have to worry about dogs in the waiting area. I don't think I would ever again even consider a location that takes all pets. It's just too stressful for him. 3. The vets, assistants, and front desk staff have all been great! They are friendly, super knowledgeable, sweet to my cat even when he gets crabby with them, and really great about calling to check up on him after a visit, or when he's due for a check-up. I also really trust that he is receiving the best care. 4. We haven't utilized it, but they do have Cat Condos there in case you need to board your cat. Overall, I'm very happy with the care received from this clinic, and would highly recommend them to any cat parent!

After waiting for 3 hours to be seen (I understand the waiting and have no issue of that) Samantha Barscewski DVM walked into the room where my female 1 year old puppy started being vocal. Low growls because she was scared. Her words "Well I just started my shift, I'm not getting bit, from what you say she will need to go under and get a stitch under her eye. I will send a tech in to review a quote." That was it. She never examined nor looked at her. SHE DID NOTHING. She didn't offer to go get someone else to help with the exam, a muzzle, nor did she ask me to do anything different. Samantha Barscewski DVM as a vet in an emergency animal hospital was a terrible experience. I feel like so many things could have gone different, but she treated as a number without compassion, without professionalism, well she was in there for less than 5 minutes- so she treated us like nothing. Again, the support staff amazing, facilities clean & modern. I will just make sure that her and I will never cross paths again. My dog nor I deserved that treatment. Especially when there are wonderful vets and animal hospitals like Great Lakes Animal Hospital and Blue Pearl.

They took excellent care of our buddy's issues as I would expect. Best thing is we came in "last minute" and were able to be seen immediately. I was very thankful for our lil' guy to get the care he needed so quickly. Yes the bill was not a cheap one as he walked out with 4 medications and a shot to the ear but our dogs care is so worth it. I'd come back in a heartbeat if we ever needed to. Also $10 off your visit if you check in. Thanks Yelp and Plainfield Pet Hospital!

In particular, Stacy's handling of our recent phone calls reflected a lack of compassion, empathy, and concern during a time of real urgency. Rather than trying to offer any referrals, recommendations, or alternatives, she made it clear that she was unwilling to help, which only added to an already stressful and painful situation. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've encountered this tone from the Great Lakes office staff. I've repeatedly experienced cold, dismissive responses when reaching out with genuine concerns, which has left me feeling unsupported and disregarded. This is particularly disappointing coming from a place meant to care for animals and their families -- the first point of contact should set a tone of warmth and concern, especially when clients are calling in distress. Had Stacy approached the situation with compassion and a willingness to help, I believe the conversation could have gone very differently. The fact that I received an email from the hospital manager terminating care while I was in the middle of trying to get urgent help for my pet only reinforced the feeling that Great Lakes does not prioritize empathy or client support. I will, of course, find another provider moving forward -- one whose values align more closely with what I expect in animal care.

I am, sadly, a typical Doodle owner, so of course my dog is special, and high maintenance, and I am as desperately attached to him as he is to me..... it's a Doodle thing, right? Same day appointment, like that NEVER happens.... they were the kindest, sweetest, and most in-depth and realistic folks I have ever met in the 6o years of dog ownership I have. The staff was friendly, kind, and overall the nicest folks I have ever met in the vetting world! knowledgeable, they offered options and advice, and absolutely treated my GIANT Doodles ears with the concern and love all we Doodle owners hope for. I mean, let's face it, Doodles are typically in one of three phases.... getting an ear infection, having an ear infection, or being treated for..... an ear infection. (They are kinda the cocker spaniels from the 70's, but on steroids in the standard doodle size) My precious baby boy, all 113 pounds of his fluffy high maintenance chicken allergy poodle belly butt, is happy again as we are moving into phase three, treating and healing from an ear infection. These folks are the gold standard of vet care I have always sought. seriously, as a downtown chicago kid, moved to owning a farm and adopting a farm tough and farm sensible attitude about my animals care, these nice folks were everything I had hoped for in a new vet practice! Close, convenient, and cost effective without all the bs most vets charge for something as obvious as an ear infection. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Tonka Truck, the dog, hasn't stopped talking about you all since our visit yesterday! He's told ALL of his friends about the cool new folks he visited, and the relief he got for being seen so quickly!

It was just a little bit after they lifted the Covid restrictions. However, this hospital had not lifted the restrictions yet, which forced me to give them my baby at the door. I was delivering campers at that time, so my roommate/bestie took care of everything at home for me. I left out that day. They called me and said, "We have the seizures under control. However, we'd like to keep him overnight for observation. In order to do that, we would need $2k today." I called my bf and she gave them $1k. After a little bit they called again, "We can't stop the seizures and we recommend euthanizing him, if you can't afford it!" I added my hubby to the call, he's an otr truck driver, and they told him the same thing. I told them to give us few, to let us talk it over, and I would give them a call back. We decided to have my bestie go get him. That way, WE know, that we'd done EVERYTHING we could. That was 4 1/2 years ago!! They told us to euthanize our baby!! I will tell EVERYONE/ANYONE "DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE!" As you can CLEARLY see, he's happy and his seizures are controlled by medication from Whitehall Vet Practice. This Animal Emergency Hospital NEVER listened when I specifically told them "He has never been separated from us! He has a Mommy & Daddy and he has a Mommy & Papa. He's been with us since he was 9 weeks old and he's been with us or his other parents! He doesn't even get left home alone! He was TERRIFIED! He was shaking uncontrollably! They were SO money hungry that they didn't care!

I am convinced you all are real life angels! I could never do what you all do but our family is so thankful for your expertise. We will recommend AEH over and over again. I hope we never have to go back but if we do, it will definitely be AEH!
