It doesn't matter if you have been a lifelong patient of this veterinarian or not, they simply DON'T CARE if your pet has an emergency. They refuse to even help with emergencies and simply refer you to the super expensive emergency clinic. The way they pushed it almost seem like they are getting a kickback from that emergency clinic on Plainfield. No thanks. Time for us to find a vet that actually cares and isn't just in it for the money. read more

Dr. Noah Schoenborn is an outstanding vet. He is compassionate, kind, thoughtful, understanding and patient. He helped me make a difficult decision. I've been using these terrific doctors for about a year and a half. I have been very pleased with every visit. Keep in mind it takes me an hour each way to drive to this clinic and it's worth it 100%. The doctor has a great deal of empathy and care. He even takes the time to look things up and do research to give the best possible prognosis for your animals. Who does that? Nobody. Sadly, I just lost my little pet pig whom I love very much. I turned my attention somewhere else for a few seconds and she got into some rat poisoning on the shelf in the garage. She would throw it up and it the poison ended up in her blood stream. She passed two days ago and there is a gaping hole in my heart. Thank you Sparta team for handling my experience with care and delicacy. I needed that! read more

My family has used the Sparta Animal Clinic for years. When we still had the farm Aliban, Bannick, and Hyde use to come out whenever we needed them. The first time I met Steve was when he was traveling with the vets while he was attending MSU in their veterinarian program. I was thrilled to find out years later that Steve took over the clinic. We have been taking our beloved pets to this practice for approximately 20 yrs. years and unfortunately over time the service has vastly declined. It's very difficult to get an appointment, communication and follow through is unreliable. Reception staff can make clients feel they are inconvenienced by assisting or scheduling. We really like the veterinarians and their expertise but which makes departing from their care unfortunate. read more

All of the Vets are very knowledgeable and kind as well. It's also great that if you have a middle of the night emergency they have a vet on call 24/7 and they'll open the office if needed. read more

We've been going here for over 20 years but things have changed. Anytime we called this year it's extremely hard to get in. My wife called today because our dog is having issues. She was told they can't get him in today or tomorrow. That doesn't do us much good if our pet needs help. It's very frustrating if your pet is sick and you're told there is nothing we can do for you. It's sad we need to look for another vet after being loyal to them for so long. read more

Steve Jantz and the other doctors are great. We've been going there since 1991 and they've helped us with a variety of cats that became our family. They are compassionate and loving and each time we put a pet down they let me hold him/her to comfort them and me during the experience. I would not take my babies anywhere else. read more

We take both of our dogs to Sparta Animal Clinic. Our one dog has required two separate surgeries do to positive cancer cells found within masses. Sparta Animal Clinic is compassionate, prompt and honest. Both of the surgeries total costs came in hundreds of dollars below the estimate I was given! I would never recommend this place to anyone. I was quoted that the price to neuter my 5lb dog would be $170-$175. When I go to pick up my dog, the price jumped to $300. When I questioned them on how the price could jump so much the lady was cold and had a smirk on her face. Bring your pets to C-Snip. read more

I have an 11 year old Mi-ki and a 6 year old Boston Terrier. We have been bringing them here since they were puppies. It is a great place to bring your pets. Let me start off by saying I have been going to Sparta Animal Clinic for 22 years (horses, cattle, dogs, cats, even chickens) they used to be amazing but I am beyond pi$$ed and I have never left a review..good or bad. We recently brought my young daughters cats in that had been attacked by something in the middle of the night, as they are indoor outdoor cats. Dr. Dena LeTot had kept one cat to sedate to "get a better look" she diagnosed her with a broken jaw, no x rays were taken. As these cats were clearly attacked by something we asked to have an antibiotic as preventive (she did not put the worst cat with "broken jaw" on antibiotics) fast forward a week she had gotten a BAD infection her face was so swollen she couldn't see out of one eye. I called to get her an antibiotic/appointment and Dr. Dena LaTot proceeded to tell me our cat was fine a week ago! Our other cat had a tiny piece of ear missing (she did put on a antibiotic) and wanted to sedate him to stitch him..let me tell u there wasn't even enough skin to sew (just about the money), after I gave her the "look" this isn't my first rodeo, she stumbled over her words "ya we can just get him on an antibiotic". Dr. Dena LaTot could not answer ANY of our questions nor did she care. They also charged me for two office visits for bringing BOTH cats in same time same visit! I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Dena LeTot. read more

I have used the Sparta Animal Clinic for over 50 years. When I was young, I used farm Vet Dr. Hollinger for my horse; when something came up that he could not handle, he brought the Sparta Animal Clinic out to see her and they were able to help. Since then, I lived in Muskegon for quite a few years, but when I moved back home I've been using them for my small animals, and my horses. When we had a "mystery" on our farm with our horse herd, Dr. Miller went above and beyond the call of duty to help diagnose what the problem was. Without that investigation, what ended up being something that we could cure could have turned out very bad. We are very happy with them. read more

I have mixed feelings about this Vet. My initial vet appointment for my 7 lb. Pomeranian was great. The price was reasonable and the doctor seemed to know his stuff. It wasn't until about a month after when my dog needed an emergency appointment that soured this clinic for me. After my dog ruptured (tore a hole is more like it) his anal gland I figured i'd bring him in since my pup was in pain and smelled awful. The 24hr vet on call told me that since he is so tiny they can't see him until I make an appointment, and to instead take him to an emergency animal hospital, which is significantly more expensive. Don't advertise a 24hr emergency service if you are just going to refer to somebody else. read more
