I visit Rio Car Wash at least once a month. There is always a friendly attendant available to help you with payment at their self-service payment machines. I typically go for the regular wash, no frills for about $12. Rio Car Wash does offer a monthly unlimited plan but as a childless person, who doesn't drive for a ride share, I typically don't need a car wash more than once a month. After paying, you are guided by another attendant into the car wash and all you need to do is throw that baby in neutral and relax. Complimentary vacuums, windex and microfiber towels are provided, they seem to allow a bit of detailing while you use vacuums. My only recommendation is adding hand sanitizer at the vacuum or towel stations. All in all Rio does the job. read more

I visited rio car wash over the weekend to give my poor car a quick cleanse. Pollen season is rough!! I almost missed rio as the signage is a bit confusing but says go clean in orange and in other signs less prominently seen rio is marked. Why they seem to have multiple names I don't know. Employees were there to help at checkout which is a plus for those new to system. A real live person also guides you into wash- another plus. I got to line and ordered managers special for $18. It was quick and easy. Wash was relaxing and car looked decent. Vacuums are plentiful and no extra charge. There were plenty of stations so no waiting to vacuum and no pressure to hurry. The larger tool does suck out dirt and junk. The smaller tool for small Spaces didn't do much so I gave up. Dog hair was not coming out so I will have to come up with another plan. Most vacuums can't get all the hair so I don't blame rio. My dog who claims to not shed is not being truthful! Hard to say if the extras on top of normal wash are worth it. I personally get my car waxed again as the wax applied is not the same as hand waxing. The rain-x hasn't been tested so can't say but again hand applying always works best for me. Tires looked improved but I still went over them again with a rag and applied my own tire shine. If a shine was included- with wash-I couldn't tell. I've had similar washes and paid less. The monthly plans seem to be the way to go. Just a few more bucks ($21) and go all month. The experience was nice and my car is happier and cleaner. I'll consider upgrading to a plan. There are a number of competitors in the area I plan to visit so I'm not a regular at this point. Also, there was a sign with "no loud music" which as a middle age women I didn't understand until someone played loud music. Again I'm old and it was an annoyance but I made it through without complaining. I figure I annoy everyone with my old lady driving and it was payback time. read more

I went early Saturday morning which only had two other vacuum customers so usage should not have had an adverse effect. read more

I Really like Rio car wash! I pay $20 a month and can cruise through any time I want. I love being able to get my car completely clean somewhere besides my driveway.... especially in the Winter. At 1st I thought it seemed like a lot of money, so I quit for a few months. I was not happy with doing all that cleaning in my driveway twice a month. I really missed my car wash! Have been a loyal client since they opened but as of 4/12/2022 they are under new ownership. New guidelines don't allow for some factory installed vehicle parts to go through the car wash. Bug shield, some sun roofs and other items are just a few. They lost our business. Went to Car Spa and got a monthly pass no questions. What a shame. read more

I used to go to Freedom and Grand Slam, since those were the only good car wash places in VB. BUT NOW Rio is much much closer to where I live and is super fast and convenient (and better imo). The location the perfect spot to get your car cleaned. It's down on Lynnhaven Road next to Pep Boys. Its a place where you can make a quick stop before you go to the mall, beach, after school, after work, whatever it is -it's right there and you can't miss it! When I drive to the entrance an employee was telling me about their manager special package. He was friendly, upbeat, informative, and didn't pressure me into buying anything I didn't want. I told him it was my first time here and he recommended trying the $12 is the best for your buck. I drive a Sentra so I can pass on the fancy stuff. The car wash took less than 3 mins. It lasted an entire song is how I remembered lol. Anyway after you're done, you go around into the vacuum area. I liked that the vacuums are free. I ended up only using the big wide one. I found that the precise vacuum head didn't suction that well. That seems to be an issue with most car wash places. The vacuums aren't powerful enough. They were good enough to clean my entire car within 15-20 mins. I will most likely be coming back since it's the closest to me. It gets busy on days when it's sunny out. The birds in my backyard bless my car with thier gifts of excrement on a daily basis. I love washing my own car at home. But the combo of pollen and birds and the wierd wormy like bundles from my pecan trees landing on my car made it tiresome to wash daily by hand. I stumbled upon Rio car wash and checked it out. I tried out the basic $3 car wash and was VERY happy with it. For a "basic" it was more than enough to clean my car. I found myself going there a few times a week, so I bought the $9 monthly unlimited car wash plan. Seriously, only nine bucks for UNLIMITED CAR WASHES! Its like the sushi king of car washes. You can take your car to get washed as many times as you can within the month. I wash my car about 3 times a week now. So I bought my pass April 18, and it will last until May 18, they put a sticker on your windshield, and in the inside of your door, so when you pull up, you don't have to roll down your windows, the arm automatically goes up for you, and you drive right on in. They have several locations, but the Lynnhaven location is slightly better because it has an added tentacle scrubber thing at the end of the wash, that the location at Indian River doesn't have. The free vacuums are always a plus too! If you love your whip to shine and be spotless for pennies (especially with all this pollen), go to the Rio carwash and get you the monthly pass! read more

First time here and boy was it an experience. I should first set the scene: I pull in to this newly established business and start to review my options. (How many times do I have to come a month to make the monthly rate worth it? Do I really need wax? How shinny is extra shine?) I pull forward and began to insert my card into the machine. Then from seeming nowhere this younger looking gentlemen steps in front of the machine. Now dear reader, while I didn't catch this young gentleman's name I will give him one just to make this triad more bearable. Let's call him Roy. I should tell you that I had just rolled down my window and had my card in my hand, when Roy popped up. I was rather uncomfortable having a person I didn't know in such close quarters. Roy begins, "Can I help you?" I am perturbed. I have no idea what Roy's function is. I assume he is trying to up-sell me. I respond, "I don't know. Why are you here?" Roy's response was to shove a brochure at me and announce "I'm here to give you this." It is imperative for the reader to know that the brochure Roy hands me is the exact same price list as the large billboard in front of me. I respond "ok, thanks." At the end of this conclusory statement I just sort of stare at him awkwardly hoping he will take the hint to leave. (Reminding the reader he is standing in front of the place to put my card and actually purchase the wash.) At this point I can take it no more, the silence is deafening, so I respond "am I supposed to deal with you, or use the screen?" (I should note for those of you that are on the edge of your seat with worry: there is no way I am handing Roy my card.) This raises Roy's ire and his response is intentionally rude "I am here to assist you to use the machine. (Extended pause for effect) You look a little confused." Now, dear reader, I should tell you that while I am in fact a female with several levels of IT, I also have an MBA and law degree. I say that not to prove that I am smart, but to ensure you that despite a hearty formal education, I retained my common sense ability to insert my card and choose a cleaning option using a dummy proof machine. (I should also note that I also retained my ability to pump my own gas, so despite this being my first time at this particular establishment, I was confident in my abilities) So, assured in my abilities I responded to Roy "I think I've got this." So, dear reader, you may be wondering if I was triggered by his offer of assistance, despite his creepy leering into my vehicle, I wasn't. It's this next response that called my texting fingers into action. Roy leans over into my vehicle, grabs the brochure that I am holding and rips it away from me while saying "fine, I guess you don't need this then." I am stunned to say the least. Roy was smug. I stare at him rather fish mouthed I'm sad to say, but after a brief moment of recovery I promptly told him I would not be needing his services. I thought to myself " self, You should just leave and go to the 7/11 one light down." But I just couldn't, I had to ask that one last question: "is there a manager on duty." Roy did not disappoint he proudly informed me that he was, in fact, the manager. Needless to say, I was rewarded as expected for my question. As such I laughed and reversed to leave. So, Roy, if you are reading this, as a manager, I would encourage you to review criminal and civil law to find out exactly the possible penalties and liabilities you/the business could incur for ripping something out of a customer's hand; and possibly rethink your approach. After all, you get more customers with respect than with vitriol. read more

I always feel sketchy for drive-thru carwashes, so I thought I'd try this place out. Being a part of the automotive industry, I've acquired an attention to detail when cleaning a vehicle. I notice everything from dents, scratches, dirt..everything. To keep this review short and simple, I must say this carwash is by far the best I've ever been through. Not only does it wash/dry the vehicle very well but it CLEANS THE WHEELS too. I've driven my wife's car through this twice now with wheels covers in brake dust and dirt and wheels come out perfect and I rarely have to go over anything that was missed. Neon lights add a nice touch as well. FREE VACUUMS TOO. They really thought this place through and I'm glad to say I love this place. I bought the unlimited car washes this month. My car has a few minor scraps from the wash- which I expected from an automatic car wash. The car wash had an electrical problem- the staff said 10-15 minutes. I am typing this review as it has been 30 minutes waiting. The kids look like high schoolers running around trying to direct traffic and arguing with each other, very unprofessional. I've been to this car wash a couple times this last time we went it ripped off one of my cab lights on the top of my truck I told the manager he proceeded to say they only pay for stuff that Easley ripped off which I showed him it ripped it off and broke it then he's backpedaling trying to ask me the year of my truck will not ever ever go there again!!!!!! I have the $20 a month, auto debit, unlimited wash deal, which is definitely a deal. It keeps my black vehicle looking mint. I love that they spray the shiny stuff on the tires. That really amps up the clean car look. The guys and girls who work there are polite and helpful if you require assistance. They have vacuum stations with trash cans upon exiting the wash house, you can dry off your car there, too. My only suggestion is that the rainx window wash used to really be better, the windshield looked cleaner after the wash, and the water really beaded off. These days, not so much. I came through the car wash today and got the $12 car wash. When I got out of the wash I noticed my wheels were still extremely dirty with no tire shine. I ended up speaking to the young lady named Hope that was working and I told her the issue concerning my car. She immediately apologized and offered me a bucket and a brush to scrub my wheels. After I scrubbed my wheels I came back around and she gave me a free wash and apologized for the inconvenience!! I left the car wash this morning satisfied when I was originally unsatisfied. I took a look at my car this morning and was embarrassed. No way should my car look the way it did this morning. I thought about stopping and doing it this weekend but it slipped my mind and probably should have been done months ago. So I set off to the new place Rio because I had been once before and liked it. Today was no different. Although its an inexpensive wash and they technically have self service options there is a staff member to help you choose your wash and the dreaded part me get your car onto the track. I aalllllwwwwaaayyyysss have a hard time with that so I appreciate the person there to guide me on properly. That alone has made me a customer for life. I opted for the plain jane wash today and it was only $3. You cant beat that price. There are higher tier options but today I just wanted something simple fast and cheap. Once you come through the wash they have about 15 stations where you can vacuum your car for free. Its a very good vacuum to so now my car is free of all the animal cracker crumbs my child left in the back seat. I believe they are advertising unlimited washes for like $9 a month. That may be something that I look into next time I come. Hopefully it will be before summer lol. read more

Saw the reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. They have attendants at the entrance to help with any questions. It's not the best drive thru car wash I've ever been too (the back was still a little dirty). But the customer service is outstanding and you can't beat their prices. Plus you get to use their vacuums for free after the wash. One important thing to add. Everything is automated so don't expect someone to be manually wiping down your car or adding tire shine. If you want a full detailing inside and out, there's another place a few doors down. But expect to pay a lot more. I would highly recommend it. It was an UBER driver who told me that he paid $9 per month to visit this location as often as he'd like. I joined about a year ago and started with the $20 per month plan on my charge card so that I'll get wax during the wash and tire shine as well. When you pull in you have a sticker that the electronic device will recognize and lift the arm for you to enter. There are buckets of soapy water and brushes placed just before the actual car wash entrance in order to loosen the dirt from your wheels. It helps but very little. For a month or two you couldn't vacuum your cars because of the pandemic and then they allowed you to vacuum with every other vacuum parking spot available. Even tho it's now the end of September and the pandemic is still in place they've gone back to full service. If you go inside you're expected to wear your mask. You usually only need to go inside if there's a problem with your sticker not being recognized or if you need to use the restroom. I'd recommend this car wash even tho it's automatic and no one to hand wash or hand wax. Customers are allowed to use the vacuums at no extra charge. I'd recommend the $20 monthly membership as well. You're also allowed one time use, of course. If you remember to bring your own towels to dry your vehicle off and any other liquid waxes or interior cleaners you'll really be pleased with your results. It's a little more convenient than doing it all at home. read more

Generally great service. The person that guides you into the car wash could do a better job of guiding you in so you don't mess up your wheel alignment with the guide rails. Most of the time, they don't even look at the tires to see where they are. I don't want my alignment messed up nor my $1500 factory rims gurred up on your rails. The wash jobs have improved over time, while the back window usually doesn't always get cleaned properly on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vacuum hoses could stand to be a little longer since I cannot vacuum out the tailgate end when nosed into the parking spot. I love the quick in and out with my monthly $20 subscription for the Ultimate Wash whenever I want it. read more

Complaint Type: Customer Service Issues Description of Complaint: I have two vehicles that come through this wash about 3-4 times a week easy if not more. My wife especially,may I add, more than me. Let me say, NEVER AGAIN after today! My meeting with the fearless "asst.manager joey" was absurd to say the least and absolutely uncalled for! I'm an avid biker love to ride beach cruisers year round and I own a few. Its nothing for me to "cruise" by and hit the good ol 5gal. "Bug prep" as the fearless dictator put it...now often I just hit my wheels, on my daily, all 29x2.125" monstrous soap water devours and time consuming monsters... However, some days I live on the edge and brush the frame too, mainly because well...I appreciate a clean bike as well as my vehicles. Now most will agree this is harmless, joey not so much! He not only sent an employee over to me, which was as baffled and dumbfounded as I was,only to ask me to stop or pay up as he shook his head in bewilderment with me! After we gathered our thoughts of the timestaking events collectively he stumbled away and I stumbled in to the last few strokes of my "$3 bike wash" only to be rudly ordered to "pay up sucker, that'll b 3 big one's sir or else... I dont care who you complain to I'm the fearless asst. Manager here and no one will take heed to your loss". Needless to say this joey character demanded I pay up to finish the last few strokes of brown nasty no soap or "BUG PREP" juice thats so expensive to Rio Car Wash that was dwindling in the bucket, all 5 ounces of mud water that was left. So I complied and warned joey of my patronage and how this was never a "big deal" before and he laughed it off. Sadly, my wife LOVED this wash, more than any other so I LOVED it too seeing as how I could wash the bike here and there,mind you, not even getting a rinse and never complaining about the merky mud water 5gals ever..when I see 10 bodies there on a Monday morning who hate to change them or fill them. My wife's car was really dirty from sitting under a pine tree and not getting washed for a few months. I brought the car to Rio and ran it through the automatic wash. Unfortunately My car was still a little dirty when I got out but this is because the dirt had had months to cake on. I asked the manager Alexis if I could get a redo and maybe if they had a spray that I could use for the hard to remove dirt. She wanted me to be happy with my wash and gave me some cleaning solvents for the tough spots and told me I could run through the wash again. One of the employees named Chester helped me get through the wash and asked if I need anything else. The customer service was excellent and they definitely took care of me. Went to Rio to get my car clean but my car wouldn't fit into the automatic car wash because the frame hit the rails to slide the car through automatically. So they tell me to pull up and wait and I do and the guy comes and tells me his manager isn't there and is across the road buying a part. I waited for 30 min and left a customer shouldn't have to weight 30 min for a refund and why is there only one manager that can do a refund there? read more
