First time at this Auto Bell and I was thoroughly impressed. Especially considering my experience with them at their Independence store has been lackluster through the years and inconsistent. The wash very busy on a warm weekday afternoon in Virginia Beach. I was greeted by a duo of friendly staff that provided wash options. I elected to get a $44.95 wash package that covered what I needed. The one staff provided charge for a tip rate end. The parking lot area in front was stack six long and two deep. Staff was very busy and it appeared to be extremely organized. I did not mind waiting for a great detail and utilized the restroom and waiting area. Everything was clean. They offer soda and snacks. After around 25-30 minutes I was called by model of car. I took a quick look around and was satisfied that a great detail was provided. I'm going outcome a limb with a 4 star first time experience, but I will return and hope they can duplicate this service. read more

went here today and paid $80 with a tip for a full cleaning. The outside of my car looks nice, but the inside was barely touched. For the price I expected the interior to be vacuumed and wiped down thoroughly, but it still looks dirty and wasn't worth what I paid. Unfortunately, I won't be returning and can't recommend this place unless you only care about the exterior. read more

I was there on 11/28/25. I have to say the quality of and cleaning has went down horribly. I could still see visible dirt on the rear gate of my SUV. When cleaning the inside they took a swipe at my dashboard and missed half of it. The front windshield looked like they used a dirty rag on it, extremely streaky. Then they charge you $15 bucks to vacuum the carpets and do a half assed job of it. I don't expect a "detailed" job at cleaning my vehicle, but for $60 I do expect a clean vehicle. read more

Well, The cars was not wiped out properly, in fact I asked them if they could get the water off the rims and their attitude was less than desirable. He did begin to do it and was not really doing it correctly so I told him not to worry about. The cars had streaks, the interior was wiped but the cup holders and the map pockets were not. I went to Auto Bell today on First Colonial. They gave my key fob to another driver. I'm now having my car towed to my home. Their response was we're sorry, It doesn't happen often. Unbelievable that it has happened before. The manager said three times this year. They actually said they will not reimburse me for a new key. The only way I get a key is if they make me one. I live at the beach and spent the last two months moving all of my belongings across town in my little crossover. Oh, and I have a dog with long white hair. The sand, hair, and little pieces of this and that were starting to get to me, but the idea of spending an hour and a half or longer getting a car wash wasn't something I was interested in adding to my schedule. I'm not trying to get a show-room quality vehicle, but my car definitely needed more attention than I have been giving it over the last few weeks. I came in on a chilly Thursday afternoon and the lobby stayed full throughout my visit, it was a pretty popular spot. Every time I drive by it seems to be pretty busy, but they get you out of your car and moving pretty quickly. They have several package options depending on how detailed you want your service to be. It is all pretty standard stuff. This isn't the place you want to go if you are wanting to pamper your car, but their options will definitely take care of your basic car care needs. The customer service I received was excellent. The guy was personable and energetic. He helped me pick the package that would take care of my trouble areas. I think their most expensive package is around $35 and then they have a few small $5-10 add ons for different protective products you can add if you want. I opted for the "manager's special" for $33 which included the interior, exterior, fragrance, and rainx. My car definitely came back to me a whole lot better than when I brought it in and the whole process took about 40 minutes. I was a little disappointed that they didn't get my center console area cleaner, but I feel like I got what I paid for-I didn't pay much. OK Auto Bell is not cheap, you can get two washes, car detail and vacuumed for $41 however it is in my estimation a better deal than the manual car wash like Rio. You drop your car off at the entrance, pay and watch as your car goes thru the line. After getting it washed. You wait in a room and after vacuuming they call you. It is an assembly line so the car may or may not be spotless. Most times coming here they do a serviceable job and it includes a wipe down. The service manager said it is convertible safe. Always a worry for my Sunday car. The biggest negative besides the slightly high cost is during some days first colonial can be a bear to get in and out off. All in all a decent job and I don't have to bend and scrap vacuuming. read more

I used to go to this car wash all the time a few years ago. We just moved back and I can't believe I paid $40 for them to not even vacuum the car. The didn't even wipe down anything. The same crumbs and condensation was sitting in the rear cup holders! I watch the employee vacuum less than a foot into the trunk. It's a jeep.. only two more feet and it would have been decent. The removable carpet protectors were already previously cleaned by me by hand prior to this and they were dirty after I got back to the car. The seats and under the seats were dirty still. And the exterior looked like it had only been cleaned on the doors and windshield. I am beyond displeased. I'll save my money, go down the street to grand slam, and do it myself for $5. read more

I got an exterior special and waited to get attendant towel dried, while very busy and some guy was trying to get his car detailed for the full service exterior/interior wash. The supervisor and one attendant were extremely patient with the guy trying to stretch his wash into a full on detail. The supervisor recognized my long wait while my car was getting water spotted and offered to run my car through again and towel dry it right away. As promised, after my second time through it was towel dried right away by a very conscientious attendant, who received a very nice tip. read more

This is the only car wash I come to and I've been coming here for years. I wash my car infrequently...don't judge. I know that I need to do better and my dearest Autobell you will see my face more often in 2015, I promise. Prices are good. Service is great. Staff are courteous and skilled. About $7 for an exterior wash which is what I get most often. This is a seriously great deal. So much better than a drive through at a car wash. Why? because they towel dry your car and get into all of the grooves. There is something wonderful to be said for that detailed hands-on attention. For about an extra $4 you can add on interior armor-all, or tire shine, or under-body wash. Full service interior/exterior wash and vacuum is $16 and up. You can wait for your car inside where there are bathrooms and snack/drink machines. On a nice day I suggest waiting on the benches outside. read more

They used to do a good job in the past but did a horrible job today. Normally I check the vehicle before driving Off but today I was in a hurry and didn't check. When I got home I found they didn't bother to vacuum the crushed goldfish laying all over the third row nor did they vacuum the back. I specifically asked before paying if they would vacuum the entire SUV. There were only 2 others cars there and 3 boys worked on mine so they weren't busy. Now that I am calm let's talk about your stuck up Manger Colin Lee who I will be calling corporate on. I went through the car wash and the wash took off part of my door handle. Colin tells me that it's basically my fault because I put a $6 "aftermarket" door handle cover on my handle and they will not pay for it. Yall must think I'm stupid. Now granted I did proceed to cuss Colin smooth out but that was after he insulted my intelligence, refused to call his boss because he didn't want to, I saw the other workers laughing at my situation and I also believe I saw 2 of them mocking my sexuality, and I saw Colin take some deep breaths and doing a hand gesture like he was sick of me and or like he wanted to hit me. Now by all means he could have swung if he wanted to and we could have got that parking lot jumping accordingly. Now mine you I still haven't received the piece of my car and Colin threaten to call the cops on me because I wanted to wait until they found it but he refused to stop the car wash and look under the grates and I proceeded to cuss him out again. Either the guys who vacuum are completely blind, or they have vacuums that run so badly that sucking through a straw would have more power. Bought the most expensive package with the max vacuuming add on for my interior, and had to ask them to vacuum again because they barely vacuumed anything out of my car. Dog fur was still everywhere and my car wasn't even that dirty to begin with. When they went and vacuumed again, I'm pretty sure they got one single molecule worth of dirt out. Never coming here again. I've paid in quarters at a random car wash and done a better job with a rental vacuum. read more

All the employees were very nice but I'm so disappointed that even though I paid for the full package, it's like I still need a vacuum to finish the job inside. Do not go to this Autobell. Went thru drive wash and my mirror came off falling onto concrete and cracking. I told the manager and he gave me a dumb comment saying that sense the mirror had fallen off it already was damaged. How dumb do I look? They also have ass cleaned my car , left water marks and did not vacuum the car fully. I got the $26.99 interior + exterior package. I understand that it is very hot and uncomfortable to get inside a car and vacuum it out, especially given that it's summertime. Therefore, I am fine with paying someone $30 to do it for me. I am not fine with paying $30, driving off, and at a stoplight discovering half of the backseat untouched, sandy and furry as ever. I give Autobell Hilltop two stars, because while the interior treatment was only 60% complete (at BEST), the outside of my vehicle was gleaming and basically spotless. read more

Fantastic experience working with Manager Tim and his team! My car did not start as I was leaving so Tim jumped in and went above and beyond to help me! He seemed very knowledgeable and helpful and after a good amount of trouble shooting the battery and the key fob, he managed to get the car started. I paid $70 to start their "fanciest" monthly unlimited plan and their tunnel does work very well as in it cleans cars much better than other car wash tunnels however their employees don't really do a good job...I keep my interior very clean in general and they actually made it messier than it was before. When I arrived they sprayed their disinfectant spray all over the interior which is fine but they didn't wipe any of it away, leaving my whole interior including windshield cluster display and all the chrome pieces in my car trim with the dried disinfectant solution. Alongside that they never vacuumed or wiped down any of my rubber mats, never bothered to put their "fragrance" in, and didn't wipe down core interior components that could've been cleaned. The one spot they did clean well in the interior is my cup holder, oh well. I will try this again tomorrow and see if I should keep this expensive monthly plan but from what I see is I will have to go and hope that it doesn't become dirtier, and if it does then spend an extra 20 minutes the next day re doing it. read more

Just got a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek last week. I had gone up north to visit family so brought it to this establishment to get it cleaned outside and in. I got everything besides getting the undercarriage of the vehicle done. They only wiped my windows and vacuumed my carpet. they didn't wipe my dash, they didn't clean the inside of the cup holders like they have once done to my other cars. The steering wheel wasn't wiped. They scratched my door on this inside of the back passenger seat. And since it was 6pm and dark I wasn't able to see it. I am completely disappointed in this. I just got this car and already there is a scratch on the inside of the passenger door. It's very upsetting that they treated this car with such little respect. read more

I have let my car go way too long before cleaning it, mostly because of the tree in the middle of our driveway. I'm so particular that I prefer to do it myself, but as I age, it's becoming harder to do it. The guy that wiped it down had a huge job on his hands, the carpeting really needed shampooing to get the dogs hair out of it, but I'd rather pay a high end auto detailer for that. He was still in high school, his first job, someone helped him clean it down due to the fact that it was a huge job, but he did most of it himself. Not to mention, back in the day. Many moons ago, I worked at Autobell. You can make serious money there if you know how what your doing. It's rare, but the Autobell I worked for was slammed! We got customers during the start of snow and regulars often asked for certain people to clean their cars. Knowing that, you do your best work for them and you get tipped for cleaning cars down. read more

I took my vehicle there, I don't think the automatic carwash was working correctly, as there did not seem to be enough rinse water coming out. It was like dripping. They charged 18 dollars for a Super Wash. Then the kids clean your car and hit you up for a tip. Well my mirrors were still dirty, my wheels were still dirty, my windshield inside had big spots missed and the front bumper grill area is also dirty. If I have to clean it myself, no sense paying them to do it. Or to tip them. Save your money go to Car Spa at the corner of holland and lynnhaven pkwy. To be fair, the owner emailed me here at Yelp and offered to rewash my vehicle. I did not let the manager know that my vehicle was not clean, so it was not rewashed. I was unaware of the "warranty" (it maybe posted somewhere) I should have said something to the kid who washed my car, but then I would have to take the responsibility of cleaning my own vehicle, which I paid 18 dollars to give up that responsibility. Hense the 2 star rating for not doing it right the first time. I have agreed to give Autobell another shot and will repost my findings in an updated review. read more

I always spot these car washes all over Hampton Roads and I finally had the chance to get my car cleaned by them. I purchased the basic "Full Service Wash" for $17 to simply wash away all the yellow stuff this Spring season. This basic wash included full interior wipe down and vacuum and full exterior wash and dried by hand. The whole wash took about 10 min, which isn't bad at all especially since they were actually getting some pretty good business that hour. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the result. My car looked extremely shiny and pollen free. All the young guys that helped were extremely friendly and definitely knew what they were doing. So, ladies, if you're into watching young guys clean your car, this is the spot! read more
