I really wanted this place to work out. With a toddler in preschool, we had to postpone cleanings because she was sick, so they were gracious about that. Strangely, they had to do last minute cancellations (i.e. the morning of and the day before, for another one), which was a bit annoying, honestly. The price that Rio and I agreed on was not the amount requested afterwards, which was a bit confusing and frustrating (my husband ended up paying/being asked the amount, and I was the one who had set the amount with Rio). Lais and the other person who came did a good job the first time around for a deep cleaning. A couple of things missed in the family room, but overall, decent job. The second time she came, it was honestly "meh." Missed a couple more things and it just didn't really feel worth it, to be honest. Then we had Sarah come and clean and she did a phenomenal job the first time for the deep cleaning. The second time, not so much, unfortunately. Pretty inconsistent, to summarize. They also speak Portuguese; we know spanish, but apparently it's not enough to really communicate, which can be an issue. Then, the night that my husband and I decided that perhaps we should try a different cleaning company, I received a message from Rio saying that their company is closing for the unforeseeable future. We were told that we were going to have 2 people come clean our house, but only one person came, Sam. Sam was gracious but he needs training to clean a house properly.  He did not make the bed until he was ask. He said that some people do not like but he didn't ask. He approached me to check everything was ready to go but he had not cleaned nor vacuumed anywhere. He had also not touched the kitchen until we went and showed him that he needed to do so. We showed him the list but he insisted he had cleaned the floors. He didn't have a mop so I'm not sure how he would've cleaned it so we gave him ours. We also let him use our vacuum because he had a very small vacuum. He continued jamming it and it would've taken him much longer to clean. Every time we came out of my office to speak with him about the areas he had not cleaned he responded he had already done so.  Not true. Unfortunately he spent about 45 minutes in a very small bathroom that only had a dirty toilet. He was on the phone when we knocked to speak with him. Probably the biggest surprise is that he was using a sharp blade to clean the bathroom sinks.  That can easily scratch the ceramic tile. Also, even though the house was clean (in certain areas), it did not have the smell of a clean house. He did not do a thorough dusting - there was still dust in many areas. We have to vacuum our bedroom the next day because it still felt like there was hair on the carpet. Then when we contacted Rio two days later about following up. We got a response two days later stating, "I am sorry for the issue, my apologies. due to staff shortage, we won't be able to serve you further and continue cleaning your house. Thank you for the opportunity." We understand there is a staffing shortage, but they could have responded with that in the first place before we hired them and not make promises that they could not deliver. read more

Really appreciate the speed and efficiency with which these people cleaned up the apartment I was moving out from. I had just gotten done moving all my furniture 2 days ago and used Yelp's Request a Quote feature to see if any cleaning service would be willing to come in and do a deep clean of the apartment the following day. RIO responded in under 5 minutes of my posting sending me back a detailed quote of the services they offered along with how much they would charge. I have never used a professional cleaning service before and these people made the whole thing very transparent and easy for me. The following day, the cleaner arrived in the time window they were supposed to along with a lot of cleaning equipment. I left them alone in my apartment for 4.5 hours during which they cleaned the carpets, the fridge, the kitchen, the bathroom, all the shelves, the windows, and I don't even know what else. The end result was really impressive. The house looked and felt so new! They aggregated all the random junk that was strewn across the apartment into a single location for me to take care of. I always assumed hiring a cleaner would be a waste of money since I could just clean myself but these people did a better job than I could have ever managed to do on my own. Cleaning a studio apartment by a single person cost me $200 + $25 for parking + tip. Money very well spent imho. Hopefully I will get my entire deposit back! read more

First thing first - as cleaning service, they were good - There was some initial hiccups in scheduling, what's included and what's not etc, back and forth with the cleaners - which is lot of overhead. I would have liked a seamless experience. Rio showed up, was always in contact and ensured it was done till the end. About cleaners - Ingrid took up bathroom and kitchen completely. Did a great job on the bathroom. Kitchen left some things wanting - oven inside and outside "deep" cleaning not done (this is a major item that she missed and tried to get away with it if I had not accidentally opened it. Back and forth, phone calls, she complained and did a 2 min shoddy job of just the door/shallow scrub. Not the racks, sides and definitely no deep clean there) under sink, (again, did after lot of back and forth, phone calls etc - 5 mins job after 10 mins of drama. Honestly, I could have done without the hassle and stress) cabinets inside and outside with reorganize not done, freezer etc was not cleaned (I don't mind the freezer and cabinets not deep cleaned - anyway as I have some food stuff I don't want moved around). I didnot really want to deal with drama as a sleep deprived new mom too much on my plate. Apparently I should move things out so she can clean and I should put things back in in oven, cabinets, fridge and under sink! Wished I had known first itself of this requirement on me, I would have gladly been her helper assistant along with pumping/taking care of a baby , of course paying her to do a quick wipe after I do all the work. Ridiculous. Ingrid also threw out a bunch of cloth tags/receipts I had saved on kitchen counter top for returns. The trash bag was fresh (new as she just started on kitchen) and she could have retrieved. She didnot even try and just more complaining on how it's impossible. I am stuck with $150-200 worth stuff that I wanted to return and it's a big loss for me. In future - move stuff off, clean and PUT it back. It's not your job to decide what is trash what is not and throw things away- for all you know, it can be more important tax docs, fsa receipts or bank stuff. Thankfully she didnot throw out my appliances because they were on kitchen counter. First time it has happened to me in all these years!! All cleaners I have tried, even check with me on fridge items that are expired or old AND I tell them it's okay to trash. Trash is only what's in the trash bag, or something specifically marked trash that I tell you is Trash. Rest - put it back where it was - it's my property! Marianne was quiet, fast and efficient. She had a quick smile and did touch ups immediately as needed, which I found easy to work with. They didnot do in between sofa cushions on the only couch I had - which I pointed to and again Ingrid wanted to argue, call people etc - while Marianne just encouraged her to do it and move on. This is usually done by all cleaners, regular or deep clean Summary - Price - it's fairly priced. A bit more than what my regular cleaners ask for deep clean but they had immediate availability so I tried them. There are some who take a bit extra but likely more professional and includes carpet wash etc. Schedule - it was only one person initially, who had a over simplified view of how long it was going to take her - finally Rio sent another person to help and they got done faster. It was very long and tiring for me. Cleaning team - All covid vaccinated which was important to me. We had to wear mask and shields as well, would have preferred the cleaners wear shields when I requested as they had only a cloth mask. Rio - honest, trustworthy and nice. Fast response. Ingrid - good work, maybe slower, argumentative with what's included and what's not - calling up owner to complain or ask, using google translate to do back and forth, being difficult in the end. She was wearing shoes in kitchen(?!) and I gave her a pair of my socks so she can move dirty shoes to outside home. Marianne - professional The strong cleaning products gave me a headache. Even after airing, it was still strong at night. We had to camp out with baby in the living room that night. I am giving 4 stars considering it's a new business and they have potential. Overall amazing job! The initial quote process was fast and simple. The personnel, Lais, arrived on time on the date we agreed. I really appreciated the smooth scheduling. She worked in our house for about 7 hours for a deep cleaning service. She did an amazing job in every inch of our place. After she was done, the place was super tidy and clean.
