I am so happy I found SARENA @ Rio Salon...She is AWESOME!! I have been her client for almost a year now and my hair not only looks good but is so much healthier than when I first got there. I have changed my color up a couple of times and each time she listens and we work together to make sure everything comes out perfect. My hair feels really soft with the natural products she uses. I got a great Facial today from Hannah. She did such a great job and told me about her eye lash extensions, so I decided to get them! I love them. What can I say about Rio Salon and Spa and the lovely people that work there that can do it justice? My elderly father started going to Ezra for about a year before he passed and it was always the highlight of his day. He would come home with a smile on his face just laughing about what a nice time he had and was always eager to show off his new haircut. At Rio, he tried several great new looks that he never would have without the wonderful staff encouraging him. After so many great experiences, I finally decided to sit down in Ezra's chair and now I am never going anywhere else! He is quick, courteous, and a joy - not to mention a very talented hair stylist. I even tried a new eyebrow treatment with Hannah in the back and I didn't know what I had been missing without her magic touch! I only came to get my brows tinted. When I come in, they see me yet don't even welcome me in or ask if I had an appointment, and there was only 1 person getting their hair done. When I actually got my brows done, it was very bad. They put the dye all around my brows and spent a good 10 minutes scrubbing it off and it hurt. Even after I left there was still black tint around my face. They used regular box dye and just slapped it on my face, definitely not worth it at all read more

Ezra is a wizard when is comes to hair (mine is almost down to my butt and thick as can be, thank you so much for treating my hair with love for the past 5 years! Brandy is amazing! She can work magic on any kind of hair: long, short, curly or straight. Want it colored? She can do it. Want a perm? She can do it. Want a razor cut: she is the best I have seen with razor cuts. Need extensions? She can do that, too. No matter what you need done, she will do an amazing job. I was on vacation and forgot my blow dryer - needed to get prettied up before going out for our anniversary! My husband called Rio for me and spoke to Gina to schedule me a blow out. I was super happy and surprised to arrive at a beautiful salon and be greeted enthusiastically by Gina. She gave me a great aromatherapy shampoo and was very conversational and pleasant. She gave me a very pretty blow dry, and it didn't take forever like sometimes happens when you go to a blow dry bar. While drying my hair, Gina even taught me a cool trick to get more shine in my hair using my dryer and brush at home. She is super knowledgable about products and trends and it sounds like she attends a lot of education and shows. If I lived in the area I would definitely come back regularly! read more

I can't say enough good things about this salon and the stylists, Gina and Teri, who worked on my very stubborn hair! First off, they were able to get me in last minute on a Friday when a home color job went horribly wrong. When I arrived everyone was very friendly and welcoming, especially my stylist Gina. She is very attentive to detail and really listens to what you're asking for. Because my hair is so difficult, I came back for a second round of toning and highlighting the next day and she and Teri teamed up to get my hair looking perfect before I walked out the door. I've been to a few salons on the central coast and I've got to say that Rio has been the most accommodating, friendly, and professional one yet. I will definitely be a return client. I'm actually from out of town and needed an emergency eyebrow wax done, and so I called and they set me up with Hannah Grodon. The salon was beautiful. Very homey, yet sleek and clean. Immediately I was offered tea or water. Once in Hannah's hands, she did a great job. She was extremely sweet, and although I only come over to Morro on the weekends, I probably will keep going to her. Whilst talking, I asked if by chance there was anyone free to get a quick cut and style and she appointed me to Sarah Crowin. Sarah was wonderful! I've been going to Rio for almost 6 years now. I moved to the coast 6 years ago and my family and I went hunting for a salon and I can't quite recall how we stumbled upon Rio. Up until about a year ago my family and myself were going to Sara who since moved but still comes to the salon from time to time. She recommended me to Ezra and I've been going to him since then. My daughter and now even my husband have Ezra cut, color, and style our hair. He is a GREAT stylist who listens to what we want and takes the time to make sure we leave the salon feeling and looking FABULOUS! There is NO shortage of time he spends with me when I am having my hair done. Ezra is also very flexible; I tend to be one of those clients who changes appointment times and dates quite frequently due to my work demands and Ezra is always so accommodating too! Today he did my daughters hair and makeup for prom and she looked absolutely beautiful! As always, he pulls out all the stops and you can walk in looking like you just woke up and walk out feeling like you belong in a formal on the red carpet! For those who have made some negative comments regarding Rio and/or the stylists - I would have to ask if you felt this way before your hair was going to get styled and you felt a stylist gave you a headache, I have to ask, why wouldn't you say something to the stylist and/or why in the world would you stay and have the stylist continue to style your hair? Next time I would try to speak up and see if your results may have been more positive -- versus making a mockery of yourself by posting rude comments. It's one thing to post a negative review, but be tactful and mature about it. Anyhow, to everyone at Rio -- job well done to all and keep up the AWESOME WORK! read more

I love rio salon and spa!! Seriously in Morro Bay they don't have any competition. The atmosphere is so peaceful when you walk in and everybody is so welcoming you just want to make another appointment for the next day. I always see Ezra for my hair and he is just so fabulous you can't help but get enough. I love change and he is always willing to try something different, but he can stay consistent with your cut as well which is just fantastic because sometimes that's hard to find. I also see Hannah for my eye brows. I don't have a natural arch, but this gorgeous gal was able to give me one. I tend to enjoy going to her as well because she never fails. When I started going to Rio my stylist and colorist was Gina. She was awesome. The life of the place. I recently went in to make n appt. with her and was greeted by Her co-worker. When I asked where Gina was, I was treated rude and lied to about where she was now working. I asked if I could get a bang trim while I was there and was told "yes for $20.00 because it was considered a "cut". WHAT!! Gina charged me $5 if that. What's happening at Rio? Went to Rio to get my hair highlighted and cut. Also got the eyelash extensions! I love everything about my hair an eyes. Ezra took his time on me and made sure I was happy. I will absolutely be going back for my touch up. I keep getting lots of complements on my look and I feel really glad that I went to Rio. Get eye lash extensions! This was my second time at Rio. I had called that morning to see if someone could do hilites and haircut. Monica was available and I did not have to wait. I brought a picture of the haircut I wanted. I am very picky ( I do admit) because I have tried so many stylist in many places and very seldom is it what I request. The hilites were perfect in color; however it was mostly in front and devoid in most of the back and side areas. I've never had my hair cut, where I am faced away from the mirror; except in this case. If I had been looking in the mirror while my hair was being cut I would have immediately noticed that she had cut one side of my head about 3 inches shorter than the other. There was no correction or even an attempt to make sure the cut was even all the way around. By the time I had paid the exorbitant $$$ fee and gotten home; only then did I notice that one side of my head had a patch of hair that was about 1/2 inch long. I was very specific when I sat down in the chair, and explained that I wanted the back cut with clippers and not scissors, I think she never listened to how I wanted my hair cut. My feeling is she may be a young stylist still learning, which is great and I admire Rio for giving someone the opportunity to learn. However, I will not be going back to Rio a 3rd time, read more
