The whole experience was poor as this spa operates in an unprofessional manner causing much frustration for me. I contacted them by phone on Monday when I arrived in Cayucos asking to book a massage for anytime Tuesday. The message said for a faster response to text another number. I ended up sending several texts and another phone message and there was no reply from either. I even walked over and looked inside. There was no sign on the door indicating they were closed on certain days. By late Tuesday I had a text saying I could book a massage for Wednesday starting at noon. I was leaving town that day yet really wanted a massage so changed my plans. No explanation of why they didn't respond to messages for 36 hours. I showed up ten minutes early being on a travel schedule and wanting to start on time, but it was locked, not open. Finally the therapist Jessica arrived. We didn't get started until twenty minutes past the hour. I chose from their website an hour deep tissue massage with two add-ones, a head massage with peppermint oil, and a foot massage/scrub. She worked on me for and hour and a half, and although she said she was skilled in shiatsu, she refused to use it on me because she said her hands hurt and she didn't want to. The foot massage wasn't really a foot massage, more lower leg/foot light touch strokes, Swedish style. In all that time she never massaged my face or torso on the front side. As a breast cancer survivor having had a double mastectomy years ago, I had specifically asked her to work on my pectoral attachments, but she never touched any of those areas. When the time came to pay she tried to overcharge me with a confusing explanation that add-one were included in the hour! And said she was charging me for an hour and a half massage. Plus she said there would be a 3-5. $ charge to use a credit card. I explained how professional massages work, showed her on the printed price card of the spa the prices for the services I asked for, and ended up paying what the charge was supposed to be. Plus, I added a tip. This reflects not only on the therapist but on the owner who was clearly absent, and never responded to any of my messages. I'll never go back to this place and wish I'd known ahead of time. Would have had a chance to find a pro and get actual therapy for the price paid. read more

My friend and I came for massages on Friday. I was so pleasantly surprised! I saw Katie, she was great. Enough pressure to feel like you're getting some therapeutic benefit, but not so firm as to be uncomfortable. She did a great job addressing trigger points without being too aggressive. If I wasn't paying such close attention, I might not have noticed what she was doing. Very nice and relaxing. She used a massage oil that I purchased and a nice cooling gel at the end. My friend saw Jenny and she said it was the best massage of her life. We're visiting from out of town, but we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. read more

First, let me start out by saying that everyone here is very nice and the booking process was easy. I'm giving this place 2 stars for 2 reasons: 1. My friends who aren't pregnant loved their massages and had an amazing time. They'll write their own reviews on how much they loved their service. 2. The story of this massage experience feels so outlandish and silly to me that it ends up making me laugh when I think about it. Context: We had a group of 5 all booked for 1 hr massages. 2 of us are pregnant and needed prenatal massages. First issue (mostly pertaining to pregnant women looking to get a prenatal massage): They don't have a prenatal massage bed or pillow, so you have to lay on your side with a pillow between your legs. After each side was massaged, my arms hurt from having to lay on them in a weird position. Also, because my masseuse was talking to me the whole time, there were moments that I was laying on my side and looking her in the eyes as she spoke/massaged me. HA, why. My social anxiety skyrockets just thinking of this moment. Not only was that an issue, but because of the strange position, the masseuse used 1 hand at a time to massage. I've never received a massage like this. Regarding the pressure, the masseuse said she couldn't apply that much since I'm pregnant, but truthfully I received a more thorough massage from the chair I sat in while getting a pedicure at a different place later on that day. My friend who is at the start of her second trimester has been having a really difficult time with smells/nausea and said that the same masseuse was drinking orange juice while giving her a one-handed massage and she could smell the citrus on her breath the entire time. I wouldn't want to smell that regardless of being pregnant and dealing with morning sickness. Second issue (general problem with the service): my masseuse talked the entire time. Again, super friendly and had I met her in a bar I would've loved to hear her stories, but not at all relaxing for the actual occasion. In fact, quite the opposite. I learned that she was late to work due to tractor and she was stressed. Also that there was a glitch when booking a hotel in Monterey for the next day and they charged her multiple times so her account was overdrawn. I learned that her house had a leak after the terrible storms and she threw her arm and back out trying to get the water out of her bathroom with her 80 year old mother. Truly, I left more stressed for her than relaxed myself. In no world should I know that much about a person who I don't know at all. read more

My boyfriend and I are on cloud nine. We came in for a couple's massage. Summer was my massage therapist and my bf's massage therapist was Hope. We decided to add on the foot scrub as well. For those sixty minutes we were in pure relaxation mode. We're both pretty stressed and tense, but all that went away with our massages. Summer and Hope's technique and pressure were right on point without even having to ask. The ambiance in the room was great, the heated beds were wonderful, and the foot scrub felt amazing too!
