I met Cleidi almost 10 years ago, would you believe?!? She is so professional and consistent. A wealth of informative on how to prepare yourself for what ever type of service you choose. She has me done in less than 15 minutes, a full Brazilian and I never have to pay the parking meter. She is also very accommodating in terms of making me comfortable, given that I have tight hips so she got yoga blocks to support me. The prices are relative to the service, and I have never been disappointed in her work, her process or the end results. Always friendly and happy, clean and conscientious. Cleidi is amazing! She's very warm and welcoming. I go to her for my Brazilian waxes because she uses hard wax and is more affordable than European Wax Center. I also appreciate her taking me last minute as long as I send her a quick text. She even took me over a walk in even though I scheduled it that same morning! The only downside is that you have to walk through a salon to her place and the hairstylists can stare you down if the salon is empty! And there's only metered parking. Hands down the best place to get your waxing done. I came here yesterday for the first time, and Cleidi is not only warm and welcoming, she is an absolute professional, and I was thankful for the quick and educational breakdown of information about getting a brazilian wax. Although I've gotten this done several times in the past, in Los Angeles, and at other places in New York, what Cleidi informed me of was, and is, of truly great value to me. For example, something that I never thought about, and was ignorant on, is the fact that Cleidi uses a different wax stick each time she goes to place wax on the skin of her client. Cleidi does this as you never know what other people have, and it would be very unsafe for her to now take the same stick she just used a few seconds ago, and dip it back into the wax. As people could be coming in with all types of health issues, skin issues, viruses and so forth. And to dip the same stick used a few seconds ago into the wax, can potentially contaminate it. After each placement of wax, she would discard the stick and use a new and clean stick to obtain the wax for placement on my skin. Although I've had some good wax specialists in the past, Cleidi is the first one that I can say made me feel 100% comfortable with her expertise, knowledge, care and welcoming spirit. When my favorite wax place in Astoria moved their location to Manhattan, I thought for sure that I was doomed and would not find another place as good. Well guess what? Cleidi is awesome!! I'm so happy I found her and she is close to where I live. Her space is located downstairs in Expo Salon (in case you're having trouble finding it). She is very prompt, I have never had to wait beyond my appointment time and she has always been ready and greeting me by name. As far as professionalism and friendliness, Cleidi is great. She keeps a conversation with you and tries to remember you during your next visit. She can't always pick up the phone (out of respect to the customer she's with at that moment) but will call you back same day. Also... DOUBLE DIPPING!! We all know how important this is. I had a Brazilian here and was thrilled with both the customer service and results. Cleidi was prompt, friendly, and great at explaining what she was doing and why (no double-dipping, use of hard wax, which areas may be more painful, etc.). Her studio, which is located within the Expo salon, but on the lower level, is clean, bright, and well-ventilated. Prices are good, too- $40 for a Brazilian as of July 2017, and Groupons available for $30. The pain was *very* minimal, and 24 hours later all redness, bumps, and swelling have disappeared. I'm especially happy with the service given that I'm 8 months pregnant and hormones have a reputation for making waxes more painful and skin more sensitive... but that wasn't the case here! I had my first wax with her back in March and I've been coming every 4 weeks for a Brazilian since then. Her technique helps reduce the discomfort of waxing and the hard wax she uses is easy on the skin. I never have any ingrowns with her and she NEVER leaves any hair. Cleidi genuinely cares about her clients and makes sure you are very comfortable as she's waxing you.
