Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience here. The customer service was polite, but the level of professionalism from the wax specialist was questionable. I was dropped in a room and told to undress. I wasn't given a sheet or anything to cover myself with that could've been slid down once the technician started. When she came in, she asked me to turn on my back and raise my legs to wax between my cheeks. I expressed I'd never had it done that way for JUST between the cheeks. She shared that she'd never done between the buttocks only. After the first, very painful strip, I insisted to turn on my stomach bc I didn't want a knee-jerk reaction of accidentally kicking her. She allowed me to but had a very difficult time with removing the wax. She shared that there was some wax left, and it'll come off in the shower. Well, there's so much wax left that my butt cheeks are essentially glued together. I'll have to use oil to remove the large chunks of wax. I also question the sanitation aspect because the waxing table only had a very thin strip of paper that didn't cover the whole table. The receptionist greeted me well and we even spoke a little due to this being my first time. Receptionist was really friendly and nice! I decided to update my review because the manager, Patricia, reached out to me and she was just so sweet and so apologetic about my past experiences! We spoke for a while and her positive attitude during the call clearly showed me that customer service is super important to them - and the loss of stars on last visit was customer service based. She even offered me a discount on my next service (which I declined because I was happy with my actual hair removal service) - but I totally appreciated the offer. I did remind her that my previous 3-star review shouldn't be taken as an insult and I didn't mean that I didn't plan on coming back - 3-stars on Yelp means A-Ok. She also explained to me that they're family-owned - and a lot of her staff are family members so there's a bit of learning curve / extended training window. She assured me that my previous review was used as coaching tool for the employee and she seemed genuine. This was another positive for me - most of the times if you unknowingly complain about a family member - the owner / manager tends to get super defensive because their love for that family member clouds their ability to be objective or take constructive criticism about the employee. But that wasn't the case here: the owner heard what I had to say and agreed. As I mentioned before - I'm not super hairy and the body hair I do have grows really, really slowly - so I actually haven't been to any hair removal salons since my last visit with them. I would highly recommend this location I usually go to the Douglasville location but due to no availability I chose austell and who ever was available. I ended up being waxed by Leslie & it's safe to say Douglasville will no longer be seeing me. I will be switching over to the austell location with Leslie. LOVE THIS PLACE ! I'm so sad that I found "my wax place" as I decided to move. But Whenever I come back home I make sure to come here. Their environment is very clean, nice, and quiet. They offer a variety of different waxes as well as other services! I have very sensitive skin and sometimes after a wax I get bumps down there if the way is cheap or too hot during application. With this place I had no problems ! This was probably the smoothest wax I've ever had in my life and it lasted for such a long time. The room seemed unsanitary. The same dipping stick used for my bikini area was also used under my arms. Hit was was everywhere including on my face! I went to Rio after going to the European Wax Center for an underarm wax in Kennesaw because it is cheaper. This was my first time getting a full leg wax. When I walked in, the lady did not really greet me and I had to wait even though I had an appointment. The women that work there spoke Spanish to one another while there were customers waiting in the lobby, which I think is rude. When the lady called me back she pointed to a room and said you can get ready in here. Since I have never done the leg waxing before I had to ask her what I needed to do, she told me to lay on my stomach. When she came back in she didn't say a word and just started applying the wax. At the European Wax Center they let you know when they are beginning. When she finished the back of my legs, she asked me to turn over so she can do the front and she forcefully spread my legs instead of asking me to open them. When she was finished, she applied baby oil without telling me first. She decided to ask if it was my first time AFTER she had finished. She promptly left after that. I will not be back. I will gladly go to the European Wax Center where they make you feel welcome, they speak to you, and they give you products and pamphlets. I will pay the extra money, it is worth it. If you don't know any better, you would think Rio was the norm. read more

I know it's not good I cheat but, I did... with Claudia my NEW wax lady and she's great! I was a little skeptical because I have been going somewhere else, but since the bridge collapse and and 24 min drive turned into an hour I was like nah... I'll go 5 mins away. Nonetheless, I'm glad I did! Claudia, was very pleasant, profesional, and patient. Which made me feel very comfortable. And, after 3 months of not being waxed, she definitely had her work cut out for her. Lol she paid very close attention to removing the hairs, and those little stubborn hairs that wouldn't come up; instead of waxing over and over she takes a moment to remove them with tweezers. I also like the fact the she uses a almost circular, but not quite motions instead of an up an up and down motion... which assures that the hairs are removed properly. I will definitely be coming back to see her. And yuh should request her as well! As far as the facility... very neat, clean and sanitized. I had my eyebrows done and I was not impressed. This is the first eyebrow place I've gone to where they didn't clean the area around the brows before waxing. Therefore there was a lot of stray hairs that was really apparent esp in sunlight. It was a total waste of money. I didn't go back to have them fix it because I didn't trust them. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. "Claudia" was curt, rude and did a HORRIBLE job on my brows. She put wax on my eyelid and left the room when done, leaving me laying on the unstable, creaky table and walked out. Not a "thank you," or one word spoken. Just botched my brows, handed me a mirror, took it back, left me in the room and walked up front and took back the next customer. She didnt even bother to change the paper on the table despite my pointing out the oil smear on the head rest. The place is hot and uncomfortable and despite voicing a complaint about my service, I was left sitting in the lobby with no assistance. NEVER going back. First time, and LAST! So this was my first time getting anything on my body waxed and it was the worst experience I've ever had. There were 2 women working there, their attitudes were very nonchalant. I was led to one of the back rooms by the one who would be doing my wax, she told me to strip all the way down and lay on my stomach so I did. I felt a little uncomfortable because she never introduced herself or told me how the process would work even though I told her this was my first time and that I was really nervous. I was getting the full body wax (legs, underarms and Brazilian) when she started my legs it was painful because she went extremely fast, when she was done she then started my underarms and brazilian. I asked her before she started, since the Brazilian will obviously be the most painful will you be doing little patches at a time? She answered with a simple "No". This scared me even more, she put the wax on 2 patches then proceeded to rip them off, one right after the other, the pain was off course excruciating, while she did this she totally lacked kindness and patience. This is very different from what I see on the YouTube videos where they are talking you through the process and taking their time. After the 3rd strip on my Brazilian I started crying and told her to just stop the Brazilian and do my underarms so she did and just walked out. I was just so stunned at the lack of care for someone's first time, she didn't even clean off the leftover bits of wax residue on my skin nor did she offer me any wipes or wet paper towels so I could clean myself off. I was just so upset and a little embarrassed. I just felt like she didn't even care, this won't be my last wax but it will be my last time coming here read more
