We used Rios to construct our patio many years ago. They did a good job then and came back to sand and seal a few years later. We called them last year to repeat the sand and seal. They didn't arrive when they said they would and I had to make multiple calls to reschedule. It was very difficult to get them to call back. Even when they finally did they didn't arrive on the day they said they would and rescheduled but didn't show again. They finally did show and about an hour into the job I went outside to find one of their workers urinating on the side of our fence. They did not sand properly (we paid the total for the job) and we've tried to get them to come back out to complete the job. Frank came out and said he'd schedule the repair but he never did and now no one returns our calls. They also said they sealed it but we have moss growing in the surface of our pavers. Avoid this company. You will end up being disappointed. read more

We had a paver patio put in by Rios - overall, I am happy with the project / work from the team. I will provide my experience on both the estimating process and the job itself. Upfront: Coordinating with Rios was easy. Freddie was super responsive / really friendly and was able to come by the site with 2 days to assess the project. I was expecting a response / estimate back within 1-2 days but it took more like week. I was not in a hurry with the project so this delay didn't matter too much. Paver Patio: The crew worked very efficiently. They were able to remove grass / soil the first day and bring in new soil, sand, pavers the following day. In total - it took the team 3 days (not full days - they had to stop work on one of the days because it started to rain so hard) to complete the project. Other Notes: Once the paver patio was complete - the last piece of the project was to fill a certain area with river rocks. When I called to ask when the rocks will be put in I was told "this afternoon" and the next time "tomorrow". This was probably my only negative experience of working with Rios. I was not in a hurry so I didn't mind if the rocks were put in the same day, next day or a few days later. As a customer - I didn't appreciate not having the actions align with what I was told. Again - overall, i am happy with the project. The patio looks good. read more

I contacted Freddy at Rios after seeing their work at a neighbor's property. We had a 600-sq ft driveway that needed new stone paving, as well as a 100-sq ft side entrance. Although they were busy on other projects, a cancellation allowed them to do the paving work on short notice and all of the work was completed in 3 days. It was very nicely and professionally done. Phase 2 was to install a kit carport above the pavement. Delays in shipment meant they had to come back to do that a month later. This is now complete to our full satisfaction. read more

My wife and I have been trying to find someone to redo our backyard for a couple of years now. So far, everyone has been booked out over a year or has had exorbitant pricing. Having interviewed and talked to so many companies, we were about to give up when we gave Rios a call after seeing a flyer in one of our neighborhood mailers. My wife called and scheduled a time for Rios to come look at our yard; they were onsite to provide a quote within 3 days. I had no idea what I really wanted to do or what was possible given our yard size and budget but Mauricio suggested a few things and told me to not worry about it as it will definitely have the "wow factor" when they're done. I was nervous about how much everything was going to cost but was pleasantly surprised with the quote I was given that day. Given that I had just had another company out earlier in the week, Rios was going to do a lot more work for a price that was better than what the other company was offering. Mauricio advised that they could get started in July and it'd take about 10 days (it was 4/15 when he came to my house and provided a quote); my wife and I were bummed about having to wait but Mauricio made a few calls and asked if we were ok with him starting on Tuesday (4/15 was a Friday)! We said sure and met Mauricio at Rios's "yard" to pick out stone size and color the next day on Saturday. One thing about the quote Mauricio provided; we were able to pick and choose on certain items to make sure things stayed within our budget. For instance, we had the option of doing pillars on the ends of the bench that was planned. That was optional and we could have foregone to save money. Same with the large step in front of the sliding glass door as we could have done a slightly smaller version to save money. The crew came out on Tuesday and started...these guys did NOT take a break and were digging, dropping off materials, measuring, leveling, sawing, etc. all day. Honestly, the work this team did in the 7.5 days it took for Rios to complete the job was nothing short of incredible and we are really grateful with how everything turned out and that Rios was able to get us on their schedule early. Suggestions/tips: 1. If you need any type of work done in your yard, save your time and just call Rios. I'm not the easiest to please and I did nitpick on a few items; Mauricio and the team accommodated everything and ensured we were happy with their work. 2. If there's something that looks different than what you wanted or expected or anything else, just ask Mauricio and he'll make it right. This can be intimidating with some companies/staff but Rios's team were class-acts throughout. 3. None of the guys on our job spoke english; download google translate so you can talk to them. Mauricio came by every day so you can talk to him...but most of the workers we needed the app for! 4. These guys work hard so be nice and put out snacks, drinks, etc. They would start at around 830am and would stay til 6-7pm. Also, we were happy to tip the two guys that did the majority of our work at the end and would suggest you do the same. They definitely earned it!! 5. Ask about any discounts such as paying cash vs. card when you get a bid. 6. This is a family business and we had the pleasure of meeting Mauricio's wife who graciously went and picked up arborvitaes for us since I didn't have a truck to transport them and I wanted Rios to plant them. Really nice of them to do this! Bottom line, we were amazed that from initial call to project completion was less than two weeks and turned out better than we had ever hoped. The price was fair and better than other vendors we'd interviewed and our gut feeling with Mauricio turned out to be spot-on. Can't speak highly enough about Mauricio and the team and will definitely use them for future work as well as refer to anyone else in need. Just call them and stop overthinking it! read more

The entire team was a pleasure to work with. Mauricio was very helpful, experienced, and informative. Also very flexible as we added work when we loved what they were doing. Rios' pricing was very competitive and the quality of the work was high. We've been living with the pavers for over a year now, so I can tell you the work was done very well. In my case few small work were left out and Freddy said he will take care of them in next few days but a lot of follow up was needed to complete the pending items. They put in a patio for us over this past summer. Initially, it was great! When he came back to ensure everything was good, he mentioned that they have a warranty and if anyone sealed it outside of them it would void the guarantee/warranty on the patio. We were relieved because of course we want to go with the guys that just put in our patio to seal it! Seeing as fall was approaching and the patio needed time to cure, it would have been bad timing for the sealant. Then, rain comes. It wasn't bad at first. But the more it rained, the more we realized that it was pooling in the patio since we walk through it to get to the spa. We were going to live with it and not fuss over it. Until one day our neighbor mentioned that the water was flooding onto his property and into his yard. He mentioned that the water could be sitting up against the foundation of the house. There is so much water that the whole patio is covered in algae. Him and I looked under our deck, and sure enough, he was right! There was water sitting up against our house! So, we reach out via email first. Mauricio replies and says that he's out of town and he would have Freddy reach out. 3 days later, Freddy reaches out. Freddy comes over after the agreed upon time, and gives us a quote. He then says that Mauricio would be back in town the next day and should reach out soon. A few days go by, and no call. A few more days go by without any word. I emailed him again to follow up and no answer. I remembered that I have his number and decided to text him to see if he received my email and to give him the details again. No answer. So after going through all of that, not only did he subtract from the value of this patio, but he has caused us and our neighbor stress/headaches, major inconveniences and more expenses. read more

We received three bids for this job. Rios was half of one bid and 20% less than the other. We're so glad we went with Rios; Mauricio was great to work with! He handled our concerns in a professional manner, and communicated schedules to us. He even let us know when he was running a little late -- this hasn't been the norm with other contractors we've hired. We would work with him again in a heartbeat. There was a miscommunication about our path on the side, and he didn't have to honor the change we requested but he sent someone the very next day -- a Saturday -- so the job would be completed on time. We have a very steep driveway and lots of landscaping that they had to work around. They didn't bring in any heavy equipment in, even though they had to demolish a wall and part of a very thick concrete patio to put the new paver path through. Our new beautiful path has motivated us to begin the process of re-landscaping our backyard. They did a really artful job of integrating the different paths. His crew accommodated our requests to bury conduit under the path for electricity and water, even though it meant disrupting the already tamped down base. They were very hardworking and did a nice job keeping the site clean at the end of each workday. They even sprayed down my plants afterwards; cutting the pavers creates quite a bit of concrete dust. It would be a good idea to warn your neighbors when having this done so they don't hang out freshly washed clothes or air out comforters while the cutting is going on.
