You can grab a cub of coffee and then walk to The Shoppes at Medford Mill so it's a nice little pick-me-up. I adored their original location, as it was super quaint, quirky and cozy. When they first moved to this new spot, it felt a bit more clinical and commercial but they've done a great job of personalizing it, and I'm happy they kept a lot of the original furniture. My favorite item on their menu is the Whitefish Toast -- it comes on a fresh, thick, hearty piece of seeded toast, and the whitefish salad is dressed with pickled carrots and micro greens. It's a pretty generous portion at a reasonable price. I also love their seasonal Campfire latte, which is a rich, creamy delight with a touch of sweetness. On this visit, they had run out of the marshmallow topping but they kindly offered a partial refund to make up for it. The only downside is that this place gets packed early; by 8:45am, the only seat available was in the window. People seem to post up for the day with their laptops, and while everyone loves a good coffee shop work sesh, it seems ownership may need to institute a time limit so others can enjoy the atmosphere as well. I like to shop at Royal Mile (warehouse or cafes) directly because their selection of coffees from around the world is a complete game changer for me and I want to fully support them with my purchases. They sell over 10 types of beans from light to dark roasts, but I'm consistently impressed by their wide range (more than a few) of lightly roasted beans from across the world that emphasize a fruity taste that is amazing if you haven't tried it and addictive once you have. They can grind the beans on the spot as you check out. They also have a coffee subscription service that they sell online.
