My Mom can't resist a good donut. I bought her 1 donut from each of the 3 major donut businesses here in Amarillo & her top choice was Rise N Shine because it isn't too sweet. It's perfect. Since that time whenever she is in town, I get her those donuts. As I walk in to order the donuts they are nicely displayed $ very colorful. On occasion there will be a fly that gets in the case. The employees are very attentive & alert. They will quickly take your order so you can be on your way. The first time I ordered - Strawberry donut w/sprinkles - Cinnamon roll (it was huge!) - Blueberry cake - Donut holes The second time I ordered - red velvet cake - Bear claw (it was huge!) - Cinnamon twist PROS - plenty of parking - Has a drive-thru - Friendly service - Variety of donuts

Not being from amarillo I've always dreaded donut stops biscuits (donuts). When I drove by this place I was excited with hope of a better donut. Success! I'm so glad that this place came to Amarillo. They have places in Lubbock but now came to Amarillo. Their donuts are sweet but very soft! They have a ton of different types in the store as well. Go check them out!

Very friendly customer service! I got a dozen donuts. A little bit of everything. Not too expensive a dozen is about 7$. I warmed my donut up a bit, I ate a blueberry one! Delicious!! Very airy and not too sweet, the blueberry came trough. I will definitely purchase from here again. Note, number one place for Cops which should say something!! Very very GOOD

Best apple fritters in town! My husband loves their breakfast burritos. Their kolaches aren't bad either.

Open for breakfast and lunch, Bagel Place at first glance just felt like your regular deli, but they are loaded up with tons of bagels. From your traditional bagels like Everything, Blueberry, and Cinnamon Raisin to unique ones like French Toast, Snickerdoodle, and Sun-Dried Tomato, they all looked exceptional. Inside, the atmosphere is your classic deli. You would think they're slinging Reuben bagels the way it looks inside. Their menu had plenty of sandwich options, but I was eying their current lunch special, which was made up of oven-roasted chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, roasted red peppers, and ranch dressing. I got it on their everything bagel. For just over $13, it came with chips and a drink as well. It was only a short wait until our food was brought to our table. The sandwich was truly delectable. They do such a great job balancing all the different items in their sandwich, making nothing feel overdone or letting the ranch overpower the rest of it and turn the whole thing too saucy. Their bagels are really the star of the show here because they have so much flavor and are cooked perfectly. The everything bagel was seasoned exactly how you would hope, which made it an especially enjoyable sandwich. As for the staff, they were pretty on top of it and made the whole experience as seamless as possible. Bagel Place is the place. A perfect lunch. RIYL: Bagels and Places

I figured out why- they left off every spice that has taste. No garlic, no onion, no salt - just sesame l, poppy and a couple of sunflower seeds. Not everything. Cream cheese is tasteless. Also, they stop serving breakfast sandwiches at 11. Finally, they don't even make the bagel w cream cheese for you. They put the bagel in bag with a little cup of cream cheese. Understand I grew up in NY, so have a different baseline. This was just disappointing. But! People were friendly. Seems like a place for locals.

Living in Amarillo for about a week, I learned a lot about the culture of the city and its two…read moremajor coffee chains. I always find it interesting how many medium sized cities have a localized coffee chain that is so deeply rooted in the community. In Round Rock, it is Lamppost. In Amarillo, it is Roasters. There are quite a few Roasters locations in Amarillo, but the true OG is located off Georgia Street. I got there around 8:30 in the morning and it was capital B busy. Every table except one was occupied and the drive thru was wrapping around the building. By the time I got inside, I only had a short wait before ordering. I ordered a simple vanilla latte with oat milk in a medium size, along with a pumpkin spice muffin. For how busy it was, I was expecting to wait a while, but they churned drinks out pretty quickly. The barista even signaled to me to come grab the drinks for my girlfriend and me because I did not believe they had been made that fast. The coffee itself was pretty good. It leans on the sweeter side and is more focused on flavor than being espresso forward. It is clear why this place is such a staple in Amarillo. I also really liked that they had coffee sleeves that looked like Christmas sweaters and flannels for the season. It was a cute touch. It is a cute space and feels pretty traditional. One random thing I noticed was the pictures of Ronald Reagan on the walls. I do not know the reason or if it is some sort of long running joke, but it exists, along with books about Reagan scattered around the shop. There is only one single use bathroom, so on a busy morning it can take a bit if you need to use it. Every day, Roasters offers a coffee of the day on drip. I went to another location later in the week and tried it there as well, and it was good too. I think Roasters is a great option for coffee in the area and proves why it has been a staple for Amarillo residents since the 1990s. Regardless of the Reaganomics for whatever reason, Roasters can trickle down some coffee. RIYL: coffee and pictures of Ronald Reagan

I had the imposter with breaded mushrooms. Super crispy Cremini mushrooms with great crunch but the rest was kinda meh, romaine and drizzle of sauce and balsamic. At least with the pickled onions there was a little palate tease. Also tried the Al pastor with jackfruit. Opted for this version on a salad and it's a whopping serving size. Hearty serving of jackfruit with plenty of sauce and dressing. Had nice little nibs of some crunch too. Service was super, super nice. I'd call the inside dive-ish. Totally relaxed and chill ambiance. I'll be back to try more items! My one dislike was that I don't care for the balsamic drizzle on either dish... just doesn't pair well with these flavors. Side of pineapple was yummy to balance the heaviness of both dishes.
