We've been going to +R for over a year and we still love it. They have several seasonal flavors each month so there's always something new to try. There is so much more than donuts and coffee though. Honestly, my absolute favorite thing to order is a cold brew and oatmeal. The oatmeal is SO GOOD! Flax and chia seeds, fruit, brown sugar- everything is customizable. Best breakfast. I thought it'd be an impossible feat but alas! I've finally rolled up to a coffee joint whose coffee has more robust flavor than their hot, burnt bean juice counterparts. I enjoyed a lovely cold brew iced coffee (black is how I prefer it) and picked up a half dozen donuts for the family. This place is extremely pricey IMO. Dozen donuts start at 22 dollars, key word is start. If you want any special flavors etc, it's more. they also do not sell half dozens. They will sell you quantity of 6 of course, but they charge you about 2-3 dollars per donut. I bought my kid a pink sprinkle. Donut was pretty similar to Dunkin for twice the cost. I could get half dozen at dunkin for around 7-8 dollars & tasted ene same. The staff was pretty friendly and the matcha I ordered was ok, I will say I added strawberry cold foam as per some of the other reviews and I really enjoyed the combination. I may go back for that specific drink, but will not be ordering donuts. Place was quiet & clean no complains there. read more

Dunkin who? Love this place!!! They do some great specialty donuts but my preference is glazed and chocolate frosted and they are amazing here. When you buy a dozen (1/2 and 1/2) they are arranged in a checkerboard pattern and the chocolate frosted are the "O's" and the glazed are shaped in an "X". Rise and Roast is easily my favorite quick stop for coffee before work. They have tasty coffee and also some amazing eateries. They offer indoor sitting and outdoor sitting patio area. I went there ordered a cup of coffee with a donut and I sat there while I wrote a letter it was really peaceful. The service was good and friendly. They do have a drive-thur. I think this might be the BEST chai tea latte I've ever had. We also got some donuts to go and they were yummy. It is a bit of a drive for me but I wanted to support local and had heard only great things about this place. I love the garage window they have were you can sit indoors and get that nice fresh breeze. Another note... I always try to use the restrooms at establishments (you can always tell the cleanliness by the way their restrooms are) impeccably CLEAN!!! Rise and Roast is A-OK for donuts and coffee. I came because their yelp reviews looked so good, and ordered a strawberry glazed cake donut based on the cashier's recommendation + an iced latte. Aesthetically, the strawberry donut reminded me of a mochi donut (classic donut shape made of smaller interlocking donut holes). Looked fun and interesting, but I'm sad to report it didn't deliver on taste. The texture was dense and the strawberry was artificially flavored. Overall, both the donut and the latte were just okay - not bad, but not amazing. They do have a very loyal local fan base, so I might come back to give their donuts another try if I happen to be in the neighborhood. read more

When I saw Rise + Roast open, I had to check them out. Super-fresh donuts and delicious coffee drinks - should be pretty good, right? Nope, not good - AMAZING. I have tried pretty much every donut and pastry they have and I have yet to find one that wasn't delicious. They have something for everyone be it a donut, a fritter, a cinnamon roll - they even have "healthy" options like oatmeal (which can be completely customized to your liking) and a delicious açaí bowl with granola and fresh fruit on top. As far as drinks go, they have delicious hot and cold coffees, teas, hot cocoa, and even multiple varieties of smoothies. I have not had a chance to try every drink yet, but I have not found anything I didn't like! And if you do get through the entire menu, that's ok - they have a special donut each month to keep it exciting! read more

The local Rise + Roast opened up this year in an area that lacked good coffee and donuts. They have a beautiful spread of donuts and friendly service that brings a smile to your morning. I thought their iced coffee (black) was very good and a donut goes for slightly less than other newer donuts shops coming up. I brought a box of donuts to my office recently and got plenty of good comments about them. This small shop is super cute! Lovely display of their goodies and donuts plus so many had to die for fillings. Hubby got the maple stuffed with divine maple custard. I on the other hand went traditional with a cinnamon roll! Both treats were very light, fluffy, and not a spot of grease was found. Not even on the napkins. We both got the in house iced tea with simple syrup which is always a preference! Sitting on bar stools in front of the open window reminded us of Hawaii! This is a new locally owned coffee shop, it's very modern and clean with a cool open window bar, large variety of fresh made donuts, they rotate through local coffee suppliers every few months and have good prices, they have a drive through, and order on-line locker if your in a rush. First of all you should know the donuts here are delicious. And large. The reduction in stars is due to the service. If you don't care about that, go get these donuts now. If you, like me, are still holding a candle for decent service from the people who want our money, you will be a bit disappointed. They act like they're doing you a personal favor by getting you something, and then to really seal the deal, this is one of those places where they ask you if you want to leave a 99%, 100% or 1200% tip. Every new donut experience gets better and better, and this held true with our recent drive-thru experience at R+R. We had the chocolate banana, the anniversary (sprinkles), and the blueberry lemon. Came all the way across town for Harry Potter donuts for the kids and they had sold out early that morning...bummed for sure, and will stick to our regular donut spot, but it looks like a nice space. It's clean and efficient, they have an order ahead option and you can pick it up in little boxes that look like the amazon delivery or Walmart pick up boxes. It was quite interesting and would be ideal if it were closer to us, alas, it took us 45 minutes to get there for nothing at all. If you are trying to get specialty donuts, I suggest you be there early or don't waste your time, or settle for the original case offerings. One thing I will say is cool is that they give you an extra donut when you order a dozen donuts, a bakers dozen. So you can eat one and not feel guilty about showing up with a missing donut in the box. read more

We came here this morning to try it out (courtesy of Yelp). Great location, store was clean. They had garage doors that opened up to the outside (which the building is located perfectly to not let the east canyon wind in). Could've used a few more tables on the inside instead of the high tops and a few low tables outside and near the restrooms. Plenty of employees available, but maybe overstaffed for the time of day. We got the sweet creme vanilla frappuccino, the banana chocolate filled donut, an apple fritter, and the house brew coffee. The donut was light and had a little bit different flavor to it (do they bake their donuts every morning??). My dad really liked the fritter and said the house brew had a good flavor down to the end- even better than some corporate chains, of which I will not name. However, there was a slight mix-up in cost. For that, some of the other "single" donuts in town may have been a little cheaper). BUT, the triple chocolate and the white sprinkle also looked tasty. We've been to R+R twice now. I was so excited to see a donut shop so close to our neighborhood! I heard great things about it in our neighborhood Facebook group so we went one Friday morning. Sadly, they were out of cinnamon twists and apple fritters (our favorites). The blueberry lemon cake donut was really yummy and the chocolate covered donut was the best chocolate covered donut I've ever eaten. The chocolate seemed gourmet. So yummy. I do wish donut shops in NM would learn the value of a savory option. It's the number 1 breakfast item I miss from Texas -- savory "donuts".
