They have donuts and drive thru. Lol! If you live on this side we usually go to Juan Tabo or Wyoming for donuts. Now we finally have some.! Customer service is great and I only drink regular coffee and it is good. Especially at 6am when I'm going to work it is good to look forward to hot coffee and sweet treats.! read more

Early mornings are for the birds... and me apparently. Waking up early has never been my fortè, but it is definitely not a bad thing when you know places like Rise + Roast exist. Places like this were build for people like me: late to sleep and early to rise. That jolt of caffeine and bite of a donut are what makes slow mornings get a little faster and more pleasant. Rise + Roast can definitely trade punches with the big dawgs. I've had the luxury of having them twice this week and I was not disappointed. I was able to take part in their YELP! Elite event where I got to enjoy a drink and a donut on the house. I was feeling a London fog and an apple fritter. Both were very delicious and helped spark my Saturday morning off right (I'll admit it wasn't quite morning... cough cough but it was morning enough for the time I got up). Their drinks are not terribly sweet which is a good thing for people like me that don't really find much joy in chugging a cup full of dye-uh-beet-us. I also thought their price points were fair and affordable. A few days went by and one of my coworkers brought in a dozen of their donuts which appears that they make in fresh house. The quality of these made me question if they were a large chain; they were fancy looking and tasted just as good. Rise + Roast is the new jazz in my morning routine. Ok yes. Go here. We got a dozen donuts and every single type was delicious. My favorite is always a classic maple. It didn't disappoints at all but I thought the dough was a little chewy. That's just nitpicking the maple glaze was great. I also tried some others like a Boston cream s'mores and chocolate banana and oh my goodness I had to make myself stop. I also ordered an iced mocha latte which was a little sweet, but still very tasty. We used the drive through which in these times is such a bonus. The donuts and drinks were ready within a minute. I got free coffees and donuts for two via a yelp event so had to go try out this new place. The vibe is super cute and chill with big garage doors that open and (one) offers a view of the mountains from counter seating. The donut selection was great-- we chose a strawberry cake, long john and a chocolate filled banana iced one with two plain coffees. The strawberry was our least favorite; a bit chewy. The long john was huge with a generous portion of chopped peanuts on its chocolate top. But the top banana was, well, the chocolate banana donut. It had a great banana flavor which was balanced nicely by the chocolate filling. The cashier was really friendly. Everything was clean. We will be back! read more

Stopped here twice this week. Once for coffee and once for donuts and coffee. Both times were met with friendly quick service. The coffee was tasteful without adding any sort of additional flavors. This is a review of the store on Unser Blvd. Firstly, the aroma of coffee hits the senses immediately. It was 90 degrees outside, but the aroma was so good, I almost bought a cup, and I don't even drink coffee. It was almost noon so not much left. I purchased an apple fritter and cinnamon bun. The fritter didn't have that thick, deep-fried, lumpy goodness one expects. The taste was pleasant, but I was hard pressed to find any apple. After 2 or 3 bites the dough felt mushy and grease coated my tongue. Not the best fritter I've ever had, but not the worst either. I wouldn't buy another though. The cinnamon bun flavor was good and the dough was light. But, again, where's the cinnamon? I wasn't expecting Cinnabon but it was really hard to see the cinnamon much less taste it. Again, not the best nor the worst, but I won't buy another. If I'm out running around when they first open, I may stop in again to try something different, but I'm in no rush. i really do not appreciate the 4% kitchen fee. Why do I have to pay for the economy.

There aren't very many reasons for me to trek over to this side of town... but for the donuts and coffee here, I totally will. I'm honestly more of an apple fritter fan (or apple flavored anything, really), and Rise & Roast is a winner for theirs. It's not overly sweet, but full of apple chunks. Their cake donuts are really good as well since they're light and fluffy. Also, the prices are super reasonable here too, which is more of a reason to regularly support this local shop. This location is new and clean and full of lots of nice, natural sunlight, and the donuts are all aesthetically appealing, which if something LOOKS that good, I'm sold. Do I really need 6 donuts? Had this twice while in Albuquerque during our drive across the country. Loved it! First, they open early! 4:30 on week days and 5:30 on weekends. I hate when coffee places don't open til later, especially on the weekends (us morning people need our caffeine on weekends too!) They also have skim milk and sugar free flavors which is a plus for me! I didn't try the donuts but they were pumping them out fresh and they looked and smelled amazing. Me and my buddy are here at 5:30, an hour after the time it's supposed to be open and the lights are off and the door locked. The employees are hiding in the back trying to ignore us while occasionally peeking through the nooks to see if we're still outside. They are accommodating the drive through customers while ignoring the customers out front.
