Had an excellent dinner here this past week! We went on a rainy Saturday night and found it to be exceptionally busy with a long wait time. We found seats at the bar and were able to order drinks and food. Tried the burger and tenders which were great and very tasty as well as a cornbread skillet which was very good. Drinks were good as well. For some reason it took 30 minutes to get the check, but overall it was a good meal if a little bit uncomfortable. I would definitely go back at a slower time since they don't do reservations. Tough at times for a sit down dinner, but great spot for a drink and some solid food.

What a unique, warm and cozy spot! If you're looking for a restaurant to sit and relax while catching up with a friend or to take your time, this is it! The host greeted us, handed us menus and said to seat ourselves and order online. The food menu was robust with lots of comfort foods/American classics plus a great craft beer selection and drink menu. We ordered online without table number and the food came out delivered by different servers as it was ready. This was such a Lovely change of pace! As you order as you wish online, we did not feel rushed and really felt like we were in a dining room in a family/friend's home, it was so cozy!

We came here on a rainy Thursday when visiting friends! It was super cozy, and we sat at a table right next to the fire. We used the QR code to order, which was incredibly easy! Their French onion soup was super tasty and super CHEESY! I highly recommend this. I ordered the shrimp and grits for myself, which was a huge serving. It was a really good dish. Everyone else at my table ordered sandwiches, which they all devoured. My only feedback is to check the utensils prior to distributing it to customers. I had 2 forks and a spoon that had food stuck to it from the previous users. This was a bit off-putting for me, but the staff was super great about replacing it every time I asked. Customer service was great, and we were checked up throughout our meal. I enjoyed this place and recommend it!

I wish I could rate more than 5 stars!! I ordered a takeout order through DoorDash. I got the steak tips with green beans and roasted potatoes. The steak tips were absolutely phenomenal!! The sauce was delicious. The green beans and potatoes were yummy as well. I will order from them again in a heartbeat!

This establishment is fantastic; we go there all the time. The service from the waitstaff is exceptional--highly attentive. The food is delightful, and the atmosphere is invitingly cozy. No complaints whatsoever!

Always look for the awesome specials Rising Eagle offers. This seafood casserole was unbelievable!

Loved the vibe, traditional old public house. Food was great. Get the wings appetizer. Wood burning fire place give a great atmosphere.

The interior is nicely decorated, and for a smaller (than most) restaurant on a busy Friday night, we got our food and drinks pretty quickly. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak - I ordered medium well but got it well done, but the added my cooked onions to the meal and I was content. My mom and aunt ordered the short rib and they enjoyed their dishes. This is a cute place to catch up with friends, go on a date, or bring the little ones. Happy this is in the area!

There are plenty of options for food, beer, wine, and cocktails, which makes it easy for groups. Service was exceptional on both visits. Friendly, attentive, and well paced without feeling rushed. That stood out and made both meals more enjoyable. Inside, the setup is comfortable and casual with a lively but manageable atmosphere. It is a good place for a meal or just drinks. The Stones is located right in downtown Stoneham and has easy off street parking, which is a plus. On my visits, I had the cheeseburger flatbread once and a steak the other time. Both were good. When I have been in others ordered the salmon, cheeseburger, and Cobb salad, and everything looked solid. No complaints from anyone. Overall, this is a reliable and easy place to come back to. Good food, strong service, and a setting that works for a range of occasions. I would come back anytime.

Especially the home made biscuits. These were amazing. Hot, flaky, very much home made with a maple butter that is sinful. Entrees were mushroom tortellini and eggplant parm. Both portions were large and delicious. Very classic red sauce restaurant. For dessert it was limoncello cake and tiramisu. Both, light and tasty. If you want to stay local and have good Italian food, with a very nice ambiance, then this is the place. FYI -- park behind the building, there's plenty of free space and take the elevator up. We started our evening in the outdoor dining area as the main dining room is a bit loud and it was a beautiful warm evening with the sun starting to set as we arrived. We salivated over the drinks menu but decided not to imbibe and save our use of calories for later. We started with the Stuffed Mushrooms, which were 5 large mushroom caps stuffed with a meatball like stuffing. They were really yummy and somehow escaped into our bellies before I could get a picture. Whoops. For entrees, we ordered the Pasta Louise (penne with chicken, artichoke hearts, and more n a creamy sauce) and Steak Pasta (penne with thin slices of steak, feta, and a light dressing). Both were delicious. The Pasta Louise is popular for a good reason - it is full of flavor and definitely worth ordering again! The steak pasta was good with a much milder flavor profile. The ingredients for everything tasted fresh. The only disappointment was the bread and butter which was a white scali-style bread with little plastic butter packets; I prefer dipping olive oil and spices with a heartier bread. The service was prompt, personal, and friendly. The main indoor space is a bit loud for my taste, so I will prefer to go again when I know I can sit at one of the pleasant outdoor tables. Of the many Italian restaurants in the area, this has been here for decades with good reason - they have a solid business. Enjoy!

The menu? Vast. Like, "do-I-need-a-compass-to-navigate-this" vast, with plenty of options. It's always amusing to me how different parts of the U.S. have their own regional food quirks (like here in MA, where steak tips, roast beef sandwiches, and open-faced turkey sammies reign supreme). I was stuck between a couple of local specialties, but our delightful waitress, Haley, steered me in the direction of the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, mentioning they roast a turkey every day (cue angels singing). I swapped out the fries for onion rings, because, duh! This sandwich? It could have fed a small village. It was a beast. A delicious beast, but an unwieldy one. I ended up abandoning the bread for the good stuff and tackled it with a knife and fork. All in all? Absolutely scrumptious. Bonus points for the bathrooms, which were clean as a whistle, and fear not! If you're afraid of missing the a Celtics 3 pointer or a Red Sox baseball toppling over the "green monstah" while nature calls, there's a giant screen perfectly viewable from the toilet. Yes, you can literally watch the game while you pee. Talk about a win-win situation!

Exactly what we were looking for. Great bar, great service, and the food was top notch.read more

I had a steak tip salad that, I have to say, was absolutely heavenly. The steak tips were cooked as ordered. Deliciously marinated, buttery tender and nicely seared over a most excellent salad. What makes a salad "most excellent?" you might ask. Well, I'll tell you. It was dressed perfectly. Just the right amount of a flavorful house dressing. Neither dry nor sopping. The generous portions of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, and more were all in a perfect proportion to one another, chopped small enough to render a knife unnecessary, except for the steak tips. Last time in, I chose the Fusilli Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork. Not only was this extremely good, it was extremely large. It provided dinner for me for two nights. There seem to be a lot of regulars here, at least in the Mondays I've been in. And the place is hopping busy. The music is good. Maybe a little loud, but, hey, I'm old. They're a jovial and friendly lot. And, Becca, the bartender, is super chill. She's friendly, attentive and she mixes a good drink and pulls a good draft. I can see myself becoming a regular!

The quality of service, food, drinks, atmosphere were all very good. Turnover here is also very good, as there was no wait for an almost-full restaurant at 7pm on a Friday evening. Drinks were flavorful, but strength seemed a bit inconsistent. My Patriot's Pour, a bourbon drink, seemed a wee bit stronger both in flavor and perceived alcohol than the martinis we were served. The ice cube with the restaurant's name in it was a nice touch. Our dinners all came out at the same time and were, as mentioned, enjoyable. I did notice that the counter in front of the kitchen, where dishes are placed waiting for pickup, seemed to have more plates on it than the could be under the heat lamps. Hopefully folks' dinners weren't inconsistent in temperature. My Thai salmon was done the way I like it, firm and crispy.
