Before coming here, I had tried their pizza and was impressed; so, my husband and I decided to come in person. We tried the pizza and, let me tell you, having it fresh was even better. We bought two flights of beer, and all the beers we tried were great. The outdoor seating is perfect for a date night, or a night out with friends. I'm glad King City is getting new businesses. I wish Greenfield would follow suit. Oh, and our car was safe! Nice neighborhood!

Stopped by after an away game for my son's soccer league. Great beer selections. Loved the Früli strawberry beer, found my Summer drink! Went during the afternoon, beautiful weather, and outdoor game options entertained my little one. The pizzas were delicious! I recommend the Blazin' Phoenix pizza. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stop by again!

Stopped by here on our way from Pismo back home to Oakland to meet a friend. Service was great- they've only been open 5 days or so. Great selection of tasty beers. Bar tender was knowledgeable. The space is great with a large out door area and pizza oven. As customary for taprooms doggies are allowed. Would def try to stop by here again in the future!

This place was AMAZING! The staff were incredibly friendly and the pizza was one of the best I've had. Wish we were going to be around King City longer because we would definitely return.

    Good vibes!!

Excellent beer pair with amazing pizzas?!! Rising Phoenix is the spot in King City! Hever is the man! Do not hesitate to stop by.

It was a month since it opened and going in on a Friday 7:30pm night was very lively. We spent $55 for two flights and a brick open pizza that was a good size for the prize, although it won't fill you up if you share with another person. The sours, imperials, lagers, stouts, and IPAs will definitely fill you up. The vibe felt very block party with a lot of the people knowing each other. The city is small so it's a given to bump into your neighbors, but it's such a fun atmosphere and will definitely bring my friends and hang out at the fire pit.

    Great wood fire pizza!

The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. The beer selection was excellent, with a great variety of options to suit different tastes. Here's how your breakdown lines up: Burger (main miss) --frozen patty, no crust, unmelted cheese, weak sauce--usually means: * Pre-formed frozen beef puck (not fresh ground) * Cooked on a grill instead of a ripping-hot flat top (so no smash crust or Maillard flavor) * Cheese added too late or heat too low to melt it properly * Sauce under-portioned or used as a light spread instead of a flavor layer Result: bland, dry, and flat tasting burger Mac & cheese That "pasta + runny cheese water" texture is a classic sign of: * Pre-boiled pasta sitting in liquid * Cheese sauce broken or watered down * Very little actual cheese base (often just milk + starch + seasoning) So yeah--more "pasta dish" than mac & cheese. Salad (surprisingly the win) Good olive oil + vinaigrette can carry a salad hard. That's usually the only thing that doesn't rely on heavy kitchen execution, so it makes sense it stood out. Fries (another win) Crispy, salted fries usually come from: * Proper double fry or high-temp fry oil * Frozen fries done correctly (ironically, frozen can still be great if cooked right) Pulled pork Cheap BBQ sauce + pre-cooked pork is pretty standard for mid-tier spots. Not amazing, but at least it has flavor, unlike the burger. Beer Hard to mess up--good call there. Overall read of the place This is the vibe I'm getting: * Strengths: fryer, sauces (salad dressing), bar program * Weaknesses: grill station, mac & cheese, burger execution * Kitchen style: "assembly + reheating" more than scratch cooking

A couple of friends and me took the opportunity to stop by on our drive back to LA from the Bay Area (along the 101). First impression: one of those convivial breweries with a thriving locals aspect and vibe. Friends I was with are really into craft beer, so we felt right at home. The folks here were super friendly and welcoming. As a matter of fact, there were some cookies made from another regular that was offered to us while we were there. And those cookies were delish. They have a good variety of styles on draft, but I opted for the BA Barleywine, which was excellent. They also had the football games playing on the TV there so there was that sports bar aspect without being to crowded/ crazy. This place is located in an industrial area of Salinas. We didn't have a problem at all finding parking. Love their beers and love this spot. I would definitely hit it up more if I was able.
