Atmosphere is friendly and comfortable- service was excellent and food was delicious- had the tri tip plate- bark was perfect and meat was flavorful. Did the Mac and cheese side- loaded with cheese with a wonderful creamy consistency topped with panko and the potato salad topped with an abundance of bacon and chives. Beer was awesome as well- Enjoyed a nice juicy ipa and a red. We'll be back- cool merch too

Not sure how we managed to barely squeak in to so many places as the last guests admitted for the day but we somehow did it once again. The staff were still very friendly and helpful and didn't rush or chase us out. We did have enough time to get one beer but it was a great one so there's that. A few people around us were finishing up the meals they had so we at least got a sneak peek at what others were eating. It looked good but it was too late to order anything to eat too. Too bad we didn't get there earlier because we had originally planned to have dinner there. Maybe we'll get another chance in the future. Despite our poorly timed visit, we still enjoyed our short visit and look forward to getting the full experience next time. We hope everyone else has just as nice a time as we did!

A cold beer and great company!

Stopped by with my boyfriend and we had a nice time with a cold beer and a delicious lunch. Definitely want to brag about the great service! Stop by and enjoy their bites and cool ambiance.

Came to California Coast Beer on a weeknight around 7:30pm and it wasn't too crowded, probably because it was a chilly night. You order your food and drinks at the counter and then grab any open seat, and they bring everything out once it's ready. We tried the pretzels and the nachos, and both were good. I also ordered the mac and cheese, which was probably my favorite out of everything we got. My brother had the tri tip sandwich--honestly it looked a little dry to me, but he said it wasn't bad. Overall, it was a chill spot and I'd definitely come back again.

Great place to bring the family. I always feel weird bringing my children to a brewery but there was plenty of seating and games for them. I'm not a beer person, I'm more of cider/seltzer so I was happy to have the den next to it where they make vodka based drinks. We ordered two pizzas and the tritip sandwich. Everything was great and came out quickly. Next time we come into town we're stopping here

LOtería Lager- a must try. Then, I took a can home.

Great beer and a nice outdoor seating area make for vibing a couple of hours! This place has an easy to order indoor and outdoor bar. Staff is friendly. Try the lotería lager.

Our group of 7 showed up for a quick dinner and some drinks. They have two indoor sections and large nice outside areas. One of the indoor sections served beer, the other one had wine and fun cocktails. It was a little confusing where to order what at first, but our bar tab was open at both locations so we could go back and forth when we were ordering. We got several of the flatbread pizzas and all were great!

We first came to California Coast Beer years ago a week before we moved out of SLO; we accidentally stumbled upon them during their soft opening and we remember the friendly service and good beer. We ended up back in Paso last night and wanted to come back to CCB. We had a mixed experience... PROS: Hospitality is still very friendly. Their outdoor area is HUGE with 2 stages, outdoor games, lots of seating and pretty planters everywhere. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. They're clearly doing well as they've opened a secondary building next door, dubbed "The Den" where they serve cocktails, wine, and cider. There is also a BBQ style restaurant on site; you order with your bartender and the food is delivered right to you. (Food was delicious, but just a tad pricey for the portion size). CONS: Service is suuuuuuuper slow. Idk if it's always this way or if it was due to the Loteria Night they were hosting, but I waited a little over 15 minutes just to close out my tab. The beer was also very subpar to what we remember it being. With so many phenomenal breweries not only in Paso, but SLO County as a whole, having quality beer is so important. I'll rate them 4 stars, but ideally I'd give 3.75.

When we go to a certain place I always ask my kids for their suggestion on where to go aside from looking at yelpers suggestions. Jd and Joanne suggested this place. so from our hotel we waled a mile to try. We ordered their tap beer. i had the blonde and my husband had the lager. for food i had the smoke chicken sandwich and he brisket sandwich and they are both great. There are plenty of sitting area- inside and out. They usually plays live music but since we were there on a Wednesday It was not available. There are lots of people sitting and enjoying their time in the Sunny afternoon.

The people, the music, our Veruca Salt greyhounds delish!!! We caught up with old friends here and it was the perfect place to start the night!

    A friendly visitor!

I liked all five wines on the tasting menu, including the rosé, which is new for me because I don't usually love rosés. I ended up getting another glass of the Barbera after we finished the tasting. Beautiful view from their deck. We caught the tail end of their cave tour, which always fun. Overall a really lovely wine experience.

Let me preface this with this - I rarely write reviews, and never have had to write a bad one…read moresadly. I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.

I hadn't visited since the week before everything shut down for COVID, and I'm happy to say it's just as great as I remembered. The vibe is cozy and understated, which is a big part of the charm. It doesn't feel overly commercialized or like they're rushing people in and out; there's a real sense of care behind the experience. The wines are excellent, and the pricing feels very fair, especially since nothing about the experience feels over the top or pretentious. We came on a last-minute trip and weren't able to get a reservation online, but they were kind enough to accommodate us as walk-ins. We spent about an hour there, enjoyed the tasting, and ended up buying a few bottles. We'll definitely be back soon, and I'd love to join the wine club once we start drinking more wine. Highly recommend, just really good quality all around.

My boyfriend and I came to Calipaso Winery for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend getaway,…read moreand it has honestly been such a disappointing experience. When we checked in and got to our room, the property felt completely empty. We were the only guests we could see, which made the whole place feel eerie and uncomfortable. We walked around the entire property and saw no one. There were only three cars in the parking lot, including ours and the front desk employee's car, yet we were told they were "fully booked" when we asked about moving to a larger room. The room itself was not great. The bed is extremely hard and squeaks with every movement. On top of that, the AC does not work. We told the front desk before leaving for dinner about the AC and were told someone would come fix it. When we returned, the room was even hotter than before & it felt like walking into a sauna. The windows don't open, so the only way to get air in is by opening the doors, which obviously lets bugs in. The "free wine tasting" was also frustrating. At check-in, we were told that we would get complimentary tastings at the tasting room. When we went to the tasting room, we were told they were "too busy" for tastings and that we would need to buy glasses of wine instead. We didn't want to make a scene, so we ended up purchasing a bottle and a glass, which came out to $85 & we never received the tastings we were told were included with our stay. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. Between the uncomfortable room, broken AC, lack of guests/staff on the property, and being denied the complimentary tasting we were promised, I would not recommend staying here. Do not let the 4.6 rating fool you.
