On a recent trip to California we were looking for a brewery to kick back and relax. California Coast Beer Company in Paso Robles did not disappoint. Our whole experience from the cleanliness of the taproom, the quality and taste of the beer, the service from the staff, and the overall vibe of the place checked off all the boxes. Came here to grab a beer and a tri tip sandwich and I am so glad I did. Beers were solid. We focused on the hazy ipa. My wife had another beer but I can't remember what it was. She seemed to enjoy it. We ended up sharing the cowtipper and it was so good. Full of perfectly cooked and flavored tri tip. Very tender meat probably most tender and flavor tri tip I ever had. My only recommendation was ask for extra bbq just to be safe. Definitely a great spot to end the night or start the night at aa they had a great sitting space with a stage. After reading a review for the Tri Tip sandwich from here I just had to try it. I will say it was quite delicious. So tender and tasty, the coleslaw was quite delicious as well. Everyone was friendly, you order and pay at the bar the they deliver to your table. Two actual bar areas one seemed to be busy and loud as football was on. The other quiet, less crowded. We walked through every restaurant downtown trying to find a spot for drinks, snacks, and a place to unwind before dinner. This place was perfect. It has a rustic feel with tons of outdoor seating on different levels, a stage for live music, and a play area for kids. The drinks menu is solid and there are plenty of pizzas and snack options to go with them. The kids were busy with giant Jenga and cornhole, and they had a huge space in back to run around. Atmosphere is friendly and comfortable- service was excellent and food was delicious- had the tri tip plate- bark was perfect and meat was flavorful. Did the Mac and cheese side- loaded with cheese with a wonderful creamy consistency topped with panko and the potato salad topped with an abundance of bacon and chives. Not sure how we managed to barely squeak in to so many places as the last guests admitted for the day but we somehow did it once again. The staff were still very friendly and helpful and didn't rush or chase us out. We did have enough time to get one beer but it was a great one so there's that. A few people around us were finishing up the meals they had so we at least got a sneak peek at what others were eating. It looked good but it was too late to order anything to eat too. Too bad we didn't get there earlier because we had originally planned to have dinner there. Maybe we'll get another chance in the future. Came to California Coast Beer on a weeknight around 7:30pm and it wasn't too crowded, probably because it was a chilly night. You order your food and drinks at the counter and then grab any open seat, and they bring everything out once it's ready. We tried the pretzels and the nachos, and both were good. I also ordered the mac and cheese, which was probably my favorite out of everything we got. My brother had the tri tip sandwich--honestly it looked a little dry to me, but he said it wasn't bad. California Coast Beer is actually combination of 3 establishments, sharing the same large patio. First, we have the brewery/taproom, then the restaurant next door, and finally the bar named "The Den" with focus on spirits and mixed drinks. Dropping in shortly after opening time, we settled for the flight of their beer and took a table on their sunny patio. All of the Cal Coast beers are simply named by the style: West Coast IPA, Hazy IPA, Stout etc. Out of what I've tried and surprisingly the the best of the tasting tray was their Munich Helles. We didn't get to try the food, but will check it out next time. The tri-tip is supposed to be really good here... One of the indoor sections served beer, the other one had wine and fun cocktails. We first came to California Coast Beer years ago a week before we moved out of SLO; we accidentally stumbled upon them during their soft opening and we remember the friendly service and good beer. We ended up back in Paso last night and wanted to come back to CCB. We had a mixed experience... PROS: Hospitality is still very friendly. Their outdoor area is HUGE with 2 stages, outdoor games, lots of seating and pretty planters everywhere. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. They're clearly doing well as they've opened a secondary building next door, dubbed "The Den" where they serve cocktails, wine, and cider. There is also a BBQ style restaurant on site; you order with your bartender and the food is delivered right to you. (Food was delicious, but just a tad pricey for the portion size). CONS: Service is suuuuuuuper slow. Idk if it's always this way or if it was due to the Loteria Night they were hosting, but I waited a little over 15 minutes just to close out my tab. The beer was also very subpar to what we remember it being. With so many phenomenal breweries not only in Paso, but SLO County as a whole, having quality beer is so important. I'll rate them 4 stars, but ideally I'd give 3.75. read more

When we go to a certain place I always ask my kids for their suggestion on where to go aside from looking at yelpers suggestions. Jd and Joanne suggested this place. so from our hotel we waled a mile to try. We ordered their tap beer. i had the blonde and my husband had the lager. for food i had the smoke chicken sandwich and he brisket sandwich and they are both great. The places is very nice, friendly even Dog friendly (rare in the area) but pricey. The food needs work, the jalapeño popper flatbread needed bacon sprinkled or hot honey and fresh cilantro to give it more taste. The Tri-tip sandwich was generous BUT Either the charcoal brickets had lighter fluid or some used some cause the tritip had a gasoline taste to it that even the bbq sauce couldn't cover. The cider was very good, recommended by the bartender who was knowledgeable and very friendly, if they improve on the food the place will Rock !! Ok, yo lol coming from Long Beach Ca, this brewery is a must stop/visit/chill spot. Came in on a Friday and it was crackin. In house brewing and I tried the juicy and hazy IPA's and BOMB!!! But the tri-tip sandwich, DANKY. Bread was fluffy and meat was smoked shhhhiiiii. But for real, friendly staff and more than enough seating on a busy night.
