I had a pleasant time trying out two of the S-Club beers on tap at this Fieldwork outdoor tap house! I love the constant new beers Fieldwork releases. Try em out if you've never had a Fieldwork beer!

We've been to this Fieldwork taproom a few times and always have a good experience. Of course, with this being entirely outdoors, this is a weather permitting location (not sure if they close when it rains, just up to you if you wanna sit in the rain lol). The beer of course is always fantastic. Not a bad thing on draft; even tried their hop water this time around and even that was good. Service is always friendly. We happened to be there during an event so it was super crowded, but the bartenders did a great job moving the ling along quickly and people around me in line were friendly, striking up conversations. I really like the outdoor laid back vibe of this location. They have big picnic tables, small tables, and adirondack chairs around a fire pit. This is both dog & child friendly. There are 2 gender neutral restrooms onsite. No food on site, but you're welcome to bring outside food in to enjoy. Definitely check them out when you're in town. If you like quality beer, you won't be disappointed.

While on my honeymoon trip in California, we had to hit up some breweries. In Monterrey, we grabbed food and drinks at Alvarado and started walking back to our hotel since it was getting late. Then we see out of the corner of our eyes a place that looks like it might be a brewery. We walk closer and see some beautiful fire pits in a patio that definitely looks like a beer garden. Sure enough, there is a bar in their with some beer bottles and tap handles. Turns out it was Fieldworks. We had to get a flight of beer to try them out straight from the source! Rainbow Parfait: A Sour build on a base of Pilsner Malt, Flaked Oats, and Milk Sugar. Then it was conditioned on Vanilla, Raspberry, Limes, and Orange to taste just like melted rainbow sherbert. Fest & Last: A Festbier style Oktoberfest lager made with German Malts, their house German Lager Yeast, and German Noble Hops. All the best ingredients used to make a beer that will have you yelling ein prosit. Crowded Lonely Night: A Belgian Dark Strong Ale brewed with Barley, Hops, and Belgian Candi Sugars. A beautiful representation of the style with flavors of molasses, toffee, and caramel with some bitterness to prevent it from being cloying. Supreme Diesel: A Double IPA with lots of Nelson. I get notes of Sauvignon Blanc Grape, guava, and a fusel floral aroma. Summertime Smile Factory: A West Coast style Double IPA double dry hopped with Riwaka, Krush (HBC586), and Mosaic Dynaboost. Dank and piney with some bold tropical fruit flavors. Brother of the Quill: An English style Barleywine with British Malts and a super long boil to really hone the sweet malt flavors. __________

We love stopping here when in Monterey.. the patio style seating is warm and inviting. The vibes here very much give chill and we love it! We already knew we loved the beer so stopping here is a no brainer. It's a little small but love this spot for some tasty hazys.

Great outdoor seating, only beer on tap. It's connected to Pete's coffee & trader Joe's. Nice outdoor lighting with outdoor heated lamps lamps and fire pit.

This was a fun stop in downtown Monterey. The space is really cool. The service was excellent. They have a wide variety of beers on top. I appreciate the different pour options as it allows you a chance to try different drafts. If you are in the area, drop by for a pint.

Great beer, and a good place to meet up with friends after work. It's a chill environment and service is pretty quick. It's never been too crowded when I'm there. They do have heaters for colder days! And make sure you bring food if you're hungry!

Was recently there for a pre-wedding party. The beers are all so good and it's in such a great location. The service was really friendly and attentive and loved the space-casual yet festive!

The definition of Fieldwork is as follows: field·work /fēldwrk/ (Damn Germans) noun 1. practical work conducted by a researcher in the natural environment, rather than in a laboratory or office. Example of Fieldwork: A man, his beautiful wife and his 2 young kids went to an outdoor beer garden in downtown Monterey to research, taste and enjoy 2 glasses of the finest German Black Lager & American Red Lager in all of the land. Well now that you know what the definition of fieldwork is, especially when it involves beer, I just know you are dying to conduct your own "research" on this subject. ;) -------------------------------------------------- During a recent visit to Monterey, we were walking the streets checking out the city when we stumbled across Fieldwork Brewing Company. So we decided to check it out and we are so glad we did! It was an Early Saturday evening in October and it was still daylight outside. The outdoor seating was pretty filled up, but we were able to snag a table that fit our family of 4. As I looked around, I saw one common theme: Everyone was smiling, having fun and enjoying the company of whomever they were with. Friends, Couples on dates, people with their dogs, and even people with their 2 kids (yeah, I'm talking about us) were all joined together enjoying a hand crafted beer or two and it was really nice to see life slowly returning to a bit of normalcy. The outdoor bar area serves up 13 rotating beers on tap ranging from Lagers and Ales to Sours and IPA's. Not sure what to order?? Hope you have your pilots license on you because you can choose your own Flight of beers; up to 6 of your choosing. Staff was friendly and so were the fellow patrons. We made small talk with the people around us with dogs; It was a fun evening out with the family. We brought in our own food for the kids, and it seems like a place where you can bring cards, play table games or just have good conversations without staring at your phone screen like we all seem to do. So the next time you are in Monterey, come check out Fieldwork Brewing Co. and get your fieldwork on!

Every Monterey Trip Starts Here…read more I've been making the drive from San Francisco to Monterey for years, and this has become my traditional first stop before heading into town. Instead of rushing straight to Cannery Row or 17-Mile Drive, I like to slow down, grab a pint, relax for an hour, and then continue the trip. It honestly puts me in vacation mode. If you're an IPA lover, Dust Bowl Brewing Tap Depot is paradise. California has hundreds of craft breweries, and I've visited quite a few over the years. In my opinion, Dust Bowl deserves to be mentioned among the better IPA breweries in the state. What impresses me most isn't just that their beers are bitter. A lot of breweries chase high IBU numbers and end up producing beers that are simply harsh. Dust Bowl understands balance. Their stronger draft IPAs are incredibly layered. One sip starts with bright citrus, then shifts into tropical fruit, grapefruit, pine, resin, floral hops, and sometimes even hints of stone fruit. As the beer slowly warms up, the aroma and flavor continue to evolve. It's almost like drinking a well-crafted fruit blend--except everything comes naturally from the hops. That's what makes great West Coast IPA so enjoyable. Whenever they have one of their high-alcohol, high-IBU specialty IPAs on draft, I order it without hesitation. Those beers alone are worth stopping for. Honestly, if you're serious about IPA, don't just order one pint. Try several different drafts. You'll understand why people keep coming back. The nice surprise is that the rest of their beer lineup is also excellent. Whether you enjoy lagers, pale ales, porters, stouts, or seasonal releases, everything I've tried has been well made and consistently enjoyable. Another thing I appreciate is that this place never feels like a tourist trap. Considering you're in Monterey, the prices are very fair. The beer quality easily justifies what you pay, and the portions are generous. It's simply honest craft beer served by people who clearly care about what they're brewing. The food isn't trying to be fine dining, and that's perfectly okay. It's good, straightforward brewery food that pairs well with beer. Burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and snacks are exactly what I want while enjoying a couple of pints. The staff has always been friendly every time I've visited. Even when they're busy, they're welcoming, patient, and happy to answer questions or recommend beers if you're unsure what to order. Great service always makes good beer taste even better. For me, Dust Bowl Brewing has become part of every Monterey trip. If you love craft beer, especially West Coast IPA, this place shouldn't just be on your list--it should be one of your destinations. There are plenty of breweries in California. There are plenty of places to drink beer. But if you're an IPA enthusiast like I am, Dust Bowl Brewing is one of those places that reminds you why California became one of the world's great craft beer capitals. Every trip to Monterey starts here. And I can't imagine starting it anywhere else.

Other than parking challenges on a busy night in the downtown, we were lucky to get a table for 5 relatively quickly, as this place isn't that large, with some additional bar seating, and it seems very popular. 5:30 was a great time, as we watched the waiting line grow longer after we were seated. Our server, Michael J., did a great job of greeting us, providing menus, and taking initial drink orders while we decided what to try. We decided to try BBQ honey wings, fried artichoke hearts, and onion rings for appetizers. The main courses were two orders of kids' cheese pizza and tater tots, a small dinner salad, a cup of New England-style clam chowder, and a NY Steak sandwich. The food came in a reasonable time, with appetizers and salad first, then the rest. The apps were good, but the onion rings were a bit greasy. The honey wings were well-liked, as well as the artichoke hearts, which, strangely, were not oily like the onion rings. Yummy! The cheese pizzas paired with tater tots were certainly different, but the pizza was more like a reheated frozen pizza. The tots were okay. The NY Steak sandwich was good as well, with a side of steak fries - obviously! Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would definitely consider dining here in the future when in town.

I'm from Reno and we don't have any good British pubs so when going out of town I always look to see if there's a good looking one where we will be going. I saw this place on Yelp and the first thing I noticed was how legit the fish and chips looked. Once I saw that you can get sides of mushy peas or curry sauce, I knew we had to check it out (this is how you would order fish n chips in the UK!) Stopped by on a Friday evening, it was definitely busy but we got lucky and got seated right away. The live band outside was a nice touch. Now I will say, the menu here is fairly small, with only a few British items. But the items they do have are very authentic and I was primarily going for the fish n chips anyway. Great big pieces of cod, batter was beautifully fluffy. The chips are perfectly thick cut. My only very very minor complaint is that I do wish the curry sauce was a little thicker and less spicy, more like a traditional chip shop curry sauce but that's just my preference. Plenty of cans to choose from and a food truck showing up as I was leaving. Loads of parking here too. Highly recommend having a DD or of course NOT driving after coming here. I suggest a walk around the neighborhood and enjoying all the murals. Enjoy life and drink good beer. Cheers! SYOY!
