[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped here for a beer while visiting Big Sur and loved the vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great selection of beers on tap, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the beautiful weather made the upstairs patio the perfect spot to relax.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great for lunch! We visited Big Sur Taphouse to grab a bite to eat between hikes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was small and cozy, with the ambiance of a dive bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a football game on so there were loud eruptions of cheering every few minutes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We snagged a booth in the corner and went up to order at the bar. I chose the French Dip Sandwich (specials menu) and my friend opted for the Chicken Taphouse Tacos. Service was friendly and quick. My French Dip Sandwich was absolutely massive! I feel like this serving size could've fed 2-3 people. The beef was flavorful and I loved the melty cheese and au jus. I also loved the fries it came with - perfectly skinny with a nice texture. My friend said her Chicken Taphouse Tacos were also great. Would return for more!

Local small spot off the highway with plenty of tabs & standard pub fare. Inside was boisterous. We got the cider on tap, onion rings ($15.99), caprese panini ($19.99), and half dozen buffalo wings (forgot how much these were). Everything was tasty and the portions were great. Omg - the amount of fruit flies harassing our meal was laughable :') Staff are friendly, and inside is rustic - there are a few screens for watching sports.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped in at this small tap house to escape the rain while road tripping down the pacific coast highway. It's quite small and intimate but everyone inside was friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The beer was good and cold. We ordered sliders as well and these took way too long to come out. We finally got up to investigate what was taking so long and found them sitting on a counter. By the time we found them, they were already cold. The flavor was good but I'm sure they would've been much better served warm.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Best restaurant I went to in Big Sur (and I went to Sierra Mar too lol). Dive bar vibes, but it was fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff were friendly, service was great/fast, but the food was the standout 10/10! Hot wings: I'm a wing snob (been going to Wings n Things for 30 years IYKYK), and these were some of the best I've ever had. 10/10 Big Booty Burger: Wife said it was one of the best burgers she's ever had! 10/10

WiFi service is non-existent out on Hwy 1, so looking up spots saved is nearly impossible unless you do it old school and write things down, which I did not do in advance of our trip. We hiked a killer hike in Julia Pfeiffer state park and meandered our way back to our resting spot. On our ramblings we landed here for a bite and drink. It wasn't until after the fact I realized I had saved this spot when trip planning and boy did it deliver!! Service was friendly and warm. They have WiFi which is a luxury around the area, lol. The food was FANTASTIC! So many gluten free options I didn't know what to do with myself! Burgers, panini, tacos, nachos! They don't do gluten free pizza but whatever, everything was so plentiful in options it's not like you'll starve here if gluten free. They do make house-made queso, which is always a solid option if done well, in my humble opinion. We landed on the nachos with carne asada and some drinks. It was delicious! The nachos have pickled jalapeños and red onions to add pop to the nachos which are fresh made chips, the queso, truly a delicious bite! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the place is overall such a vibe! We absolutely loved it. It was the perfect spot to wind down and relax after 2000' of climbing up the highway.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The back patio has plentiful seating including sun loving spots as well as shady options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun decor, fire lamps for when it's cold. I can see live music here being awesome![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's connected to a deli, merch options for purchase, truly a local gem. We loved every second of this spot and wish it was closer to make it happen on the regular. We'd highly recommend if around the area! Delicious food, great service, plenty of room to relax and enjoy, great line up for drinks, and friendly service all at reasonable prices. Chefs kiss!

Holy shit this place was good and the beer was cold and tasted so fresh. We had the Mai Tai from Alvarado (can never go wrong with Alvarado) and I had the BLAST with sub French fries and my hubby had the Grande Nachos, BOMB. Honestly it was so good and was not greasy and the portions are huge!

Food is always amazing here at Taphouse, everytime we go to bigsur Taphouse is our choice. They got tacos, pizza on Thursdays. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a nice patio if you dont want the crowd and tv on site.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers are always attentive to get your orders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You're on the mountains so if you dont want wilderness this area is not for you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been here so many times and this is my to go place. They have a mini grocery stuff and souvenirs.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Five stars for atmosphere and food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Granted, you've got gotta be comfortable with a little grunge. I likened it to Boy Scout camping.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Food- all the thumbs up. Sandwiches are very shareable, meaning they're huge. I love their daily specials- never had a miss with a special. We always enjoy the cheesesteak, fish & chips, & Reuben. I was really digging the buffalo chicken sliders that were a special. Shrimp Po Boy was fun as well. Fries and onion rings are always tasty and plentiful. The drive there from up north is worth the trip!

Limited food options in Big Sur and this was one of the few places open when we visited in December. The menu was small and basic. We ordered the chicken tenders and a sandwich. Food was ok for the location and price. The patio outside was peaceful and dog-friendly

Po Boy (Plastic knife for size reference) Huge and tasty!

Yet the ambiance, service, and food are very good! I love the various aspects of the decor, as well. Other than parking challenges on a busy night in the downtown, we were lucky to get a table for 5 relatively quickly, as this place isn't that large, with some additional bar seating, and it seems very popular. 5:30 was a great time, as we watched the waiting line grow longer after we were seated. Our server, Michael J., did a great job of greeting us, providing menus, and taking initial drink orders while we decided what to try. We decided to try BBQ honey wings, fried artichoke hearts, and onion rings for appetizers. The main courses were two orders of kids' cheese pizza and tater tots, a small dinner salad, a cup of New England-style clam chowder, and a NY Steak sandwich. The food came in a reasonable time, with appetizers and salad first, then the rest. The apps were good, but the onion rings were a bit greasy. The honey wings were well-liked, as well as the artichoke hearts, which, strangely, were not oily like the onion rings. Yummy! The cheese pizzas paired with tater tots were certainly different, but the pizza was more like a reheated frozen pizza. The tots were okay. The NY Steak sandwich was good as well, with a side of steak fries - obviously! Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would definitely consider dining here in the future when in town.

I'm from Reno and we don't have any good British pubs so when going out of town I always look to see if there's a good looking one where we will be going. I saw this place on Yelp and the first thing I noticed was how legit the fish and chips looked. Once I saw that you can get sides of mushy peas or curry sauce, I knew we had to check it out (this is how you would order fish n chips in the UK!) Stopped by on a Friday evening, it was definitely busy but we got lucky and got seated right away. The live band outside was a nice touch. Now I will say, the menu here is fairly small, with only a few British items. But the items they do have are very authentic and I was primarily going for the fish n chips anyway. Great big pieces of cod, batter was beautifully fluffy. The chips are perfectly thick cut. My only very very minor complaint is that I do wish the curry sauce was a little thicker and less spicy, more like a traditional chip shop curry sauce but that's just my preference. I still love that it's even offered! My husband had the BBC (bangers, beans and chips) and he loved it. I tried a bit of his banger and it was really good. Nice thick pork sausage. They had a good looking beer selection, I will have to try some on a future visit when I'm not pregnant! I was really really pleased with my meal here. Please add some bangers and mash though! Those bangers are delicious.

I was so thrilled to check this pub out especially with our doggie, Meatball the Bulldog! How perfect right? A Bulldog at The Bulldog Sports Pub. We snagged the last available booth, and it had crumbs on there. Not clean. SMH. I went to the bar to order some drinks for my boyfriend and me since he left his wallet in the car. It was raining that night, and we parked several blocks away. The service was okay. I remember the guy bartender said $29something, but then he charged me $30something. I got the Jalapeno Margarita while my boyfriend had the Tito's Mule. My drink was very sweet with a kick of jalapeno while his was pretty good. They had music playing. It seems that there is a modern jukebox where you can pay to pick a song. There was one pool table for people to play. So many people came up to pet Meatball and give him so much attention. He absolutely loved it! There was one guy who asked if he can say "Hi" to Meatball, and we said that it was okay like we normally do. This weirdo was basically making out with Meatball; not cool at all man. Then Meatball flipped on his back, and he was holding Meatball. My boyfriend told him to let go of Meatball. It was such an uncomfortable interaction. Not normal at all. He even said, "This is my NYE kiss!" SMDH. The guy sat down at a table that is across from us, and he kept looking at us. We quickly finished our drinks, and then we left to ring in the new year at our hotel lobby instead. We should have just hung out in our hotel lobby instead of going out; it was much better there.
