We stopped by here on our way up 101, it's pretty close to the highway. Service was fast and attentive at 6pm on a Sunday and we were sat and ordered pretty quickly. I got a farmhouse burger at medium well and it was actually medium well! I tend to find that most places when I order a medium well burger it's closer to the medium or medium rare range. Overall solid burger, tasty with pickles and mayonnaise to complement the patty. The bacon was also really crispy, not soggy at all. The arugula doesn't stand out too much, it would be nice to have more arugula in it but It was overall really enjoyable. It's quite big for one person, I did not fully finish it. My partner got a prime rib french dip with onion rings. He liked it decently and also liked the onion rings, they were crispy and done well. It's a bit pricey for two burgers and fries but the serving size makes up for it, you just gotta remember to eat your leftovers!

We stopped into the Cork and Plough on our way back home. It's a hidden gem in sleepy little King City. We were seated right away and had a knowledgeable server who told us the specials. We saw all the beers and excellent wines on the list, but because we were driving, we had to pass. Hubs ordered the prime rib French dip. It came served on toasted ciabatta bread. He said it was shaved prime rib (house made), caramelized onions, melted cheese, and aioli. It was very tender. It was served with au jus, which he said he thought was flavorful on its own and if it wasn't house made, it was a good fake. Also, came with a side salad, which he enjoyed. I ordered the roasted beet salad with chicken breast. It was HUGE! It was beautiful, too. Came with an enormous chicken breast atop many roasted beets, feta cheese, and candied walnuts. It was dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette. Outstanding! It was Sunday evening after 7 pm and the place was over 3/4 full and a few to-go orders came in, too. Hmmm. People know this is a good spot. I will remember the Cork and Plough and try to return.

The food was served hot and fresh with a smile. We ordered the burger, pasta, sausage sandwich, clam chowder, drinks and other items. The facilities are clean and hospitable. Staff is friendly but lacks in communication. Party of 6 has an extra service charge that was not communicated. Resulting in over tipping. Price point for the food in my opinion is about 15% over fair value, I do recommend the location and food just make sure you check the bill.

My cousin's niece graduated high school so to celebrate, we took them out for lunch. We've never been in King City so we decided to look up on Yelp a spot that looked good. Cork & Plough looked interesting enough. Well in short, although the food was good, it took forever to get our food and didn't feel absolutely welcome when we were there. Perhaps they were having a bad day and it was busy (there was a group of 20 in a different room and lots of tables full in the main bar area). L O C A T I ON It looks like Cork & Plough is in the downtown-ish area so parking can be quite hard. We parked on the main street, but I believe there was another lot in the back side streets. M E N U A good variety of items from small dishes, sandwiches, burgers, salads, entrees, pastas and soups. We all were quite hungry and wanting to devour anything in front of us. We got the Pork & Cow burger and spinach salad with grilled chicken. The Pork & Cow burger was divine. Juicy, flavorful, a little savory and sweet (bbq pulled pork), and just everything you want in a burger. Definitely would get this burger again. The spinach salad was quite good especially good flavor combo with strawberry, apples and goat cheese with the poppyseed vinaigrette was great. In retrospect, we didn't need the grilled chicken as it did have kind of a spicy rub on it which my mom can't handle anything spicy and to her it was spicy. I had it and it was maybe a tingle so just be aware that the chicken does have a spice rub on it. And note it's an extra $6 for the chicken. S E R V I C E We were seated in the bar area. Then after a short while, we ordered and everything seemed fine. Then we were served our water and drink (one of us ordered Diet Coke). Then it was pretty much dead for about half an hour. Like we were waiting for our food and little to no interaction with the server. The server was also not super friendly to be honest but perhaps it was the stress of the day with larger groups. We eventually got our food after waiting over half an hour. We weren't sure about refills on drinks but no one really offered to refill the Diet Coke we had. Our waters only refilled once which was a bummer. It was kind of hard to grab someone to get the bill as well. So it just felt overall probably an off day for them. O V E R A L L All in all I did enjoy the food. But sitting in the bar area wasn't great smelling as it smells like a bar...you know that smell. So perhaps in the future, if ever getting food here, to-go might be a better option for us. Try not to go on a busy day or just don't go super hungry which we all were. I'm sure if you're there for like happy hour or after work drinks, I'm sure it would be a different experience. But definitely try them out if you're ever in the area.

I grew up in King City and visit my mom regularly. We always eat at the same places so my wife decided she wanted something different. I suggested Cork and Plough which is very upscale and pricey. Our lunch for the 2 of us was $57. That included a $4 coke from the bar which was watered down and not worth it. They do serve complimentary water so I suggest sticking with that. This is definitely not a place that we would go frequently but maybe only for a special occasion.

Would C&P be able to show the Warriors game on 6/5/22? Not sure if that would be a fit - I've never been there but will be driving thru King City at that time.

Is C&P open on Christmas Eve? If so, what hours? Answered my question calling them. They should be…

Then, of course, one would need to thank the bar for their drinks and presentations, which are awesome. You need a bit of showmanship to perform and serve at a place like this. Ok, here we go. Tucked away on a back street in Paso lies this interesting and very amazing venue. I would have never imagined in my wildest dreams going to a place like this, let alone what was inside. To be honest, I at first felt like I was entering the twilight zone, the first time I came here. In the back of my mind, I was thinking, " Is this what it felt like going to something like this during prohibition times? Now, in this post, I will not share all about your entrance, etc., into this place, as that takes the fun out of it, but I must add that if you are in the Paso area, this is a must on your list. Let's go back and recreate yesteryear, a very intimate and very exclusive, club-like atmosphere. You never know who is watching you; it's all that mystery. Does it feel a bit like the game CLUE"? You tell me. :-) Just remember this: speak easy, abide by their rules, speak quietly, and have fun!

Phenomenal dining experience…read more Eating here is an integral experience of staying at Alila. They serve a brunch menu (for breakfast and lunch) as well as dinner. All food and non-alcoholic drinks are included with your stay (with a 1 entree limit for dinner). Over the course of our stay here, we tried the majority of the menu. Most of the food was top notch with the highlights being: *Moroccan Shakshuka - Comes out pipping hot in a mini cast iron pan. The spicy kick is infused within the eggs and peppers. Pairs perfectly with the toasted pita *Porchetta Sandwich - The pork was so rich and juicy and the crusty roll soaked up all the juices *Smoked San Marzano Bisque - The tomato flavor is very concentrated and infused with a pleasant smoke. A touch of creme makes it perfect. *Salt Spring Mussels - The fresh mussels were very tender and paired well with their spicy, smokey sausage. *La Bistecca - Medium-rare filet with roasted onions and chimichurri. Can't go wrong here. Areas for improvement: Their pizza crust is a tad thick and too floury for my taste. Their squid ink pasta is also too thick and chewy. A note about service: On the first night, I ordered their signature Marine Layer drink which has a bubble with Lavender smoke in it. Their machine malfunctioned, resulting in no smoke. I spoke to the manager about it and he personally rectified the issue for the second night and provided two complimentary drinks. This is an example of stellar service. Kudos to the staff for their commitment to a quality experience. Ambiance: The view is simply unbeatable. Ask for a table on the far edge near the water. You get a landscape view of the ocean and the adjacent hills. At sunset, the view is bathed in orange. PSA: The dinner reservations for the good times fill up rather quickly. Ask the concierge to book for you as soon as your book the hotel!

Service was quite slow, took a least an hour to get our entree and the food tasted like fairly average restaurant. None of the dishes really stood out or felt particularly memorable. One thing we did appreciate was that the restaurant is very dog-friendly and even offers a menu for dogs, which was a nice touch. The outdoor seating area was also beautiful, especially during sunset, making for a great dining atmosphere. Breakfast was definitely the better meal. There was a wide variety of options to choose from, including fresh-pressed juices, and everything we tried was flavorful and enjoyable. The quality and selection were noticeably better than dinner. Overall, the meals were okay, but I expected a lot more given that this restaurant is part of a Hyatt Category 8 property. The setting and breakfast were highlights, but the dinner experience didn't quite live up to expectations.

I do not eat seafood, therefore this review is based off of my group. My husband enjoyed the oysters stating they were fresh and sweet. My daughter loved the calamari. I was quite underwhelmed with the spicy tequila cream chicken pasta. I was told that the dish was very spicy. To me, there was barely a hint of heat to it. The flavors was lacking. I feel as if the sliced onions should be left out. Our friend ordered the cioppino and mentioned the same thing, the sliced onions made the dish taste a little off but otherwise delicious. The kids fusilli with Parmesan was ok. It was basically tossed in butter and she can add her own Parmesan. The rib eye came out medium well. We thought that maybe it was just the ends that were a bit more cooked, however, almost the entire steak was medium well. The only part that we didn't eat was looked to be medium. Although the steak was not cooked to our preferred temperature, it was very flavorful and tender. And we sure were hungry after a day of exploring. We ate nearly the entire plate. I didn't want to mention anything since we ate 90% of the plate, but our friend convinced us to bring it up to the server. And so I did, not wanting to anything to be done about it. We did nearly finish it. We also did not want to wait longer for the steak to be re-made. I paid for my tab and it was well under what I had expected the total to be. I scanned through the itemized receipt and realized that they took off the steak. I felt ashamed for even bringing it up since we basically ate it all. The cocktails were great. Not too watered down or too heavy with alcohol. The restaurant has an amazing view overlooking the Pacific Ocean and offers outdoor seating. The service is quick and everyone was very friendly. Will I came again? For sure. Just not for pasta.
