This was my second time at this restaurant and it doesn't disappoint! I loved my pork chop so much, the onions on top really added good flavor. My boyfriend really liked the burger as seen by my being unable to get a picture before he ate it. I like that they have a corner with books and games and wine bottles hanging in the window of one entrance and an arch made out of them at the other entrance. It's just a nice peaceful environment. Our waiter seemed to be the only waiter in the building so I felt a bit bad but he was nice! Definitely want to come back again. read more

Honestly quite a solid restaurant to stop by at King City, where I wouldn't expect much in terms of fine dining. But this restaurant has a big menu with a lot of options and you can tell they try to do more to elevate your dining experience. A good amount of options for vegetarians, even though you wouldn't expect it. We ordered zucchini fries (which were definitely a hit), garlic bread, mozzarella fresca (a favorite), beet salad, and alfredo ravioli (the best entree for vegetarians). I also ordered some pork sliders for myself, which was tender, but a bit too sweet. The Beet salad was really good, fresh, and large. All the dishes we ordered did not disappoint and this was honestly a pleasant surprise cuz I wasn't expecting much in King City at 9pm. All the portions were quite large also so we had plenty of leftovers. Recommend giving this restaurant a try if you're in the area and no idea what restaurant to go to. Ambience and decor isn't bad either, the restaurant is quite large.. They also have a bookcase with coloring books, and games for kids. read more

We met some friends here for dinner on a Friday night. The place was busy (always a good sign). We started with the zucchini fries. So good! They were fine before I could get a picture. I did not expect to find a dish like the one I got. Halibut on a bed of risotto, with veggies and a blueberry bur Blanc sauce! It was very good. The risotto was amazing. We stopped by here on our way up 101, it's pretty close to the highway. Service was fast and attentive at 6pm on a Sunday and we were sat and ordered pretty quickly. I got a farmhouse burger at medium well and it was actually medium well! I tend to find that most places when I order a medium well burger it's closer to the medium or medium rare range. Overall solid burger, tasty with pickles and mayonnaise to complement the patty. The bacon was also really crispy, not soggy at all. The arugula doesn't stand out too much, it would be nice to have more arugula in it but It was overall really enjoyable. It's quite big for one person, I did not fully finish it. My partner got a prime rib french dip with onion rings. He liked it decently and also liked the onion rings, they were crispy and done well. It's a bit pricey for two burgers and fries but the serving size makes up for it, you just gotta remember to eat your leftovers! read more

The service here is six stars! Ron and Savanah were working the front of the house by themselves and they did a phenomenal job making sure food was delivered in a timely manner and that everyone had what they needed. We shared a French dip sandwich with sliced house made prime rib and house made au jus sum delish onion rings and an enormous beet salad. It was very lightly dressed with lots of beets, cheese and was a light accompaniment to the French dip. read more

5 of us came here for lunch. One of our friends had been here several times and had raved about how good the food was. We all had really great meals. 3 of us had salads, one order the sliders and one ordered a French dip. The service was really great and the woman who waited on us was the only person working the tables and the bar. She did a fabulous job and we never waited. She got a good tip from all of us. This is a part of King City that has changed, for the good, in the last few years. The Merchants have come in and really changed this neighborhood. Also, easy to find parking. Just passing through with a friend and decided to stop by. From the moment we walked in felts like a great atmosphere and it was. Our server was on point with always checking in on us. I didn't take pictures of the food because we were so hungry! I ended up getting the chicken Alfredo which was delicious. The chicken was very tasty ! Staff is friendly but lacks in communication. Party of 6 has an extra service charge that was not communicated. Resulting in over tipping. My cousin's niece graduated high school so to celebrate, we took them out for lunch. We've never been in King City so we decided to look up on Yelp a spot that looked good. Cork & Plough looked interesting enough. Well in short, although the food was good, it took forever to get our food and didn't feel absolutely welcome when we were there. Perhaps they were having a bad day and it was busy (there was a group of 20 in a different room and lots of tables full in the main bar area). L O C A T I ON It looks like Cork & Plough is in the downtown-ish area so parking can be quite hard. We parked on the main street, but I believe there was another lot in the back side streets. M E N U A good variety of items from small dishes, sandwiches, burgers, salads, entrees, pastas and soups. We all were quite hungry and wanting to devour anything in front of us. We got the Pork & Cow burger and spinach salad with grilled chicken. The Pork & Cow burger was divine. Juicy, flavorful, a little savory and sweet (bbq pulled pork), and just everything you want in a burger. Definitely would get this burger again. The spinach salad was quite good especially good flavor combo with strawberry, apples and goat cheese with the poppyseed vinaigrette was great. In retrospect, we didn't need the grilled chicken as it did have kind of a spicy rub on it which my mom can't handle anything spicy and to her it was spicy. I had it and it was maybe a tingle so just be aware that the chicken does have a spice rub on it. And note it's an extra $6 for the chicken. S E R V I C E We were seated in the bar area. Then after a short while, we ordered and everything seemed fine. Then we were served our water and drink (one of us ordered Diet Coke). Then it was pretty much dead for about half an hour. Like we were waiting for our food and little to no interaction with the server. The server was also not super friendly to be honest but perhaps it was the stress of the day with larger groups. We eventually got our food after waiting over half an hour. We weren't sure about refills on drinks but no one really offered to refill the Diet Coke we had. Our waters only refilled once which was a bummer. It was kind of hard to grab someone to get the bill as well. So it just felt overall probably an off day for them. O V E R A L L All in all I did enjoy the food. But sitting in the bar area wasn't great smelling as it smells like a bar...you know that smell. So perhaps in the future, if ever getting food here, to-go might be a better option for us. Try not to go on a busy day or just don't go super hungry which we all were. I'm sure if you're there for like happy hour or after work drinks, I'm sure it would be a different experience. But definitely try them out if you're ever in the area. read more

What a wonderful, delicious place--fantastic service! We stopped through King City on our way back to the Bay Area from SLO last weekend and needed to find lunch where we could bring our dog. We chose this place due to having a covered outdoor area and so glad we did. The service was OUTSTANDING. Our server (a young woman) was so kind, brought our dog water right away and was so attentive. The manager, Mr Ronald, was beyond kind to our 4yo and 18mo little boys-- so many fist bumps, they thought he was the coolest ever--and very attentive to us. I got the Farmhouse salad and added steak (they gave a very generous amount) and it was OUTSTANDING, I enjoyed it so much. Looked very nice inside, and the outdoor area was spacious and comfortable. We stopped there somewhat at random but would go out of our way to go back again. Thank you for a great end to our vacation. read more

I grew up in King City and visit my mom regularly. We always eat at the same places so my wife decided she wanted something different. I suggested Cork and Plough which is very upscale and pricey. Our lunch for the 2 of us was $57. That included a $4 coke from the bar which was watered down and not worth it. They do serve complimentary water so I suggest sticking with that. This is definitely not a place that we would go frequently but maybe only for a special occasion. read more

Lucky to find this restaurant featuring standard bistro fare but with extremely fresh produce (as should be, here in farm country.) Good for my vegan dining companion as well! Romaine wedge salad: first time ever having a wedge salad with Romaine lettuce but it actually works. Delicious dressing. Veggie jalapeno burger with no cheese: rave reviews from the vegan! I wish I could remember young man's name that helped us. Service was great. We had BBQ pork sliders and the cow & pork burger. Perfectly cooked hand shaped patty. This was def not a frozen patty. I have been coming here for more than 3 years. I can only comment on the food as I get take out here often. The chicken pot pie is pricey but excellent. It is creamy, rich, nice chicken pieces. I am somewhat of a CPP fan so I have eaten it at a number of places, and this is the best. I like the jalapeno burger. They have excellent onion rings and curly fries. The staff has always been friendly to me. I have tried a few of their other dishes and they seem very reasonable. It is in rustic King City with its one main Street. I like ordering the food and walking down the street while waiting. The restaurant is bright and airy. I have attached the menus from this month. I think this retaurant is well worth trying, especially for travelers passing through the area along 101. read more

When traveling south from Monterey to our SoCal home, we selected this spot because they had a dog-friendly patio for lunch. But we were thrilled with the lunch experience we enjoyed there. Phillipe was our server and provided great advice on the menu selections. We started with the mushroom and goat cheese toast appetizers, which were delicious. My husband had a very good salad, but I really enjoyed trying the Swiss Sausage sandwich. It was a new type of sausage experience for me, served on a toasted ciabatta roll with provolone and tangy mustard. It was truly a tasty meal we will long remember. The town of King City was a treat to drive through, and our dining experience at Cork & Plough was a delight. We will be back as we travel Highway 101 often. read more

The food was excellent, and we ate there three times during our stay in King City. We had some issues with the wait staff disappearing at the end of our meal and we had to ask several times to have someone bring us the bill so we could leave. Stopped into the Cork & Plough for lunch. We were seated promptly by our greeter and server, Jess. She was quite knowledgeable and fun to interact with. It took forever to get our drinks, but the food quickly followed and was worth the wait. We ordered their Skirt Steak Sandwich special and the Pasta Bolingese. We were told the special came with either French fries, curley fries, onion rings, soup, or a side salad. I chose the side salad for a healthier choice. When receiving the tab for our meal, there was a $1.50 extra charge for the side salad, but it was of good size and worth it. The skirt steak was well charred with a very flavorful bold beefy flavor. The Pasta Bolingese was perfectly cooked al dente, with a wonderful meaty sauce. It arrived with a light sprinkling of parmesan and toasted garlic bread. I read the glowing reviews & was excited to try it. When we first arrived, we were worried that the place had closed: half the letters were missing from the sign out front and patio chairs were stacked up. Luckily our first impression was wrong: the place was open. We got a terrific cocktail and two delicious salads. I really wish we'd had the appetite for something heavier that hot afternoon because the meat dishes looked epic. There was just one server and there happened to be a large party there at the time, but our food arrived pretty promptly regardless. I look forward to returning at our next opportunity. Wed needed a quick lunch on the way to Santa Barbara and stopped in King City. Who knew they had quite a few promising restaurants. We chose this one and were not disappointed.
