Really great RV park for short stays and great price. What can I say no frills but well kept, clean showers, nice picnic area and fully functional and clean laundry. The park has little amenities and is tucked back in the rising star casino parking lot. It was an absolute pleasure to check in with the hotel front desk, every person there was so sweet and friendly as mentioned by another yelper but seriously! Tips: *you can only book pull thru sites over the phone, only 7 are available. *check in at the casino hotel check in. No signage but park in the back lot and walk in to the casino. The Rv park is next to the hotel located away from the main casino. *the park is accessed by a gate, you have to get out since the keypad is low *We were charged a $50 hold per reservation plus $10/day resort fee on top of rate. *To use the pool you will need a card so let them know at check in. (The pool was indoors and next to the gym in the main casino building, you have access with the resort fee) *trash valet out before 10:30am *3 washers 3 dryers each $1.50 quarters only there is a coin machine *7 individual restroom/ shower rooms *there are a few bbq grills located on property pretty clean but make sure to bring charcoal if using. read more

My 86-year-old grandfather has been gambling at the Rising Star Casino for many, many years now, and the last 3 months, they have truly been awful to him. Mind you, he drives at least once a week, 2 hours there and back. He got there, tried to get a room, and was turned away, but the 2 people behind him did not have a reservation and received a room anyway. The majority of the machines are older, but they payout well. I didn't notice the "odor" other than some cigarettes that were actively been smoked. Bens Bistro is NOT good. The veggie pizza was a joke- all peppers??? So I tried to order the margaritas pizza, but they were out of basil. Tried build my own- no mushrooms. Ended up with big cherry tomatoes and onions. It was flavorless. S.O.s tenderloin looked gross, and fries were burnt. read more

Was a little apprehensive with some of the other reviews but this was the only RV park fit for big rigs like our class A coach that had concrete pads and was relatively close to the Ark and Creation Museum, so we gave it a try. We are sooo glad we did it was perfect!!! For a big rig you need a pull through site and you cannot book a pull through site online. You have to call them to book it. It was an hour from the Ark, a half hour from the Creation Museum and about 45 minutes from Cincinnatti. The drive through historic Aurora out to Rising Sun where the casino and RV park were was scenic peaceful and a pleasure to drive. When we got there it said to check in at the casino. We did not park under the awning as instructed. There was plenty of room to park in the casino parking lot while i ran inside ti check in. Other reviews complained there were no directions signs or people directing you on where to check in. I entered the main casino doors under the awning and saw the hotel lobby to the left. In the lobby i found a long check in counter on the right staffed by 5 pleasant and welcoming ladies who assisted me right away. I returned to the motorhome and we drove across the street to the gated RV park. The other reviews complained that the keypad was too low for an RV. That is true - it was car height. My hubby pulled up and i jumped out and used the key pad and voi la we were in. The park was only about 60 sites with only 7 being 50 foot pull throughs. They were beautifully level and clean and spacious! There was gravel around the concrete pads so you could park an additional vehicle...and if it rained you did not get muddy! There was also plenty of grass areas well maintained and a bug gated doggie park. There was a nice looking bath house but we didn't need to use it so i cannot comment on the cleanliness inside. There was a nice covered patio and bbq picnic area. We were able to get a rental car from Enterprise about 15 minutes away. We tried to get an uber there but no one responded. The ladies at the hotel check in desk were very helpful and called a friend who provided uber-like shuttle service. We even tried Wellington Steakhouse in the Casino on our last night and dinner was decadent with plentiful and amazing salads, tasty and tender filets and huge loaded baked potatoes!!! Stayed at the rising star casino for the weekend event being held there. Sure the main building and hotel is a little outdated. But if you go there expecting the plaza... thats your fault. My main gripe was that even though i was there for an event being held in the main building, and i made my reservation using the event code... i was given a room in the new unattached building across the property parking lot. pros and cons.... the new building was that... new. The room was much nicer than the ones in the main building, but there was no staff there at all. Just housekeeping in the mornings. If you are looking for a decent priced no frills get away, this casino will fit the bill. Just dont expect Vegas hospitality. read more

Nice park even nicer price. Seems normal price for a full hookup back in site is $19 they also offer Goodsam discount, however during our stay they had a special for but 2 nights get one free. So ended up costing us about $13/night which is great for a full hookup site. They also have nice level concrete pads which I love, especially when it rains. Don't have to deal with a muddy mess. You can walk to the casino/restaurants but they also offer a shuttle, but we never took it so can't comment on that. Also they have a dog park and laundry which basically ticks all the boxes for me. That being said there's a couple minor issues that stop it from being 5 stars. The pads are on the small size. There was just enough room for our 33' travel trailer. You will definitely have to unhook, at least in the back in spots. You have a nice little gravel area next to the concrete pad with a picnic table, unfortunately since the pad is so small you end up having to put your car/truck there and in our case it pretty much took up the whole area. Also no fire pits at any site that I saw. Also the WiFi is useless. It just doesn't work most of the time and when it does it's unusably slow. I find that usually when rv parks try to run their own WiFi it never works. Get a third party company to install some real internet. It's about 50 min to Cincinnati but other parks are not much closer. For the price I would definitely stay again! read more

Dirty!!! We have been coming to this hotel/casino since it was Grand Victoris. The hotel is ran down. our room was not the updated room advertised on their website. It was dirty.My bedding was dirty. I called down for housekeeping to bring up new bedding. I was told the orange stains were from the dry. They look like dried blood. There was actual pieces of dirt/debris in the bed. They also told me to come and get the sheets and change them myself. I was already in my pajama. I also had my young grandson with me. I had to call my husband who was in the casino to leave and pick up the sheets for me. I changed the bed and those sheets were clean. We had not been here for over a year due to how much this hotel has gone down hill. But wanted my grandson to play in the pool since he didn't go aw for spring break. We won't be back. read more

Poorly run RV park. Consistent comments on other review sites about the fact that it is hard to find someone in their hotel lobby to check you in; apparently this place simply does not care. Also, the person we dealt with to do that was not friendly and had an "I don't care" attitude. Poor informational signs about where to check in, even. At the place where one has to put in the pass code to open the gate, there is not a high one for RV's --- one has to get out of the vehicle to do that. For us, they screwed up and didn't put us with our group and then said that although there were sites right next to them, they were already reserved, However, those sites have remained empty so I guess that's how they chose to end the conversation. Also, they don't tell you that there will be a $50 security charge on your credit card --- and the receipt gets emailed to you AFTER you check out. If you want an actual receipt, you have to go from the campground to the hotel lobby to get one when you leave. Although the sites are large, concrete, and level, we will not be returning. read more

If you're looking for service this is not the place. Nobody from the slot managers to the waitresses to the front desk have a clue of what's going on. They're all very nice but I didn't come here for nice. By the time I left, seriously, I knew more than the average employee about how things operate just from asking questions.I live in Las Vegas and I am used to going to casinos where they know how to treat guests and how to answer simple questions. I gave them two stars just because the people are nice and I'm sure doing their best but very very very poorly trained. By the way here is the wedge salad I paid $10 for. See what I mean?. This small, intimate RV park is very clean. Full hook ups plus cable. Daily curbside trash pick up. The north edge of the RV park is ~50 yards from Tandy's IGA, a well stocked local grocery. The IGA knows its RV clientele and has a thoughtful hardware and accessories section. A short walking distance from the southern edge of the RV park is the historic downtown of Rising Sun. Campground guests get free continental breakfast at the Casino and complimentary use of its indoor pool. Not a bad place for a weekend or stopover along the river. Rising Sun downtown is charming but once you've seen it, you've seen it. read more

Excellent RV campground in Rising Sun, Indiana! We've stayed a couple times now and have added this into our annual rotation and have even mixed in a couple additional weekend getaways because we like it so much! The price is amazingly low, the spots are all very level, the grounds and facilities are very well kept and it's conveniently located steps from the Rising Star Casino. Since you reserve through the casino hotel, you also get to take advantage of the hotel amenities...pool, complimentary breakfast, etc. And it's located near their nice golf course, the quaint town of Aurora, and about 45 mins from Cincinnati to the east and about 45-70 mins from Vevay and historic Madison to the west. Great little shops and eateries in the cute riverside town of Aurora and about 15 mins drive to Lawrenceburg with tons of places to eat, a bigger casino to visit and shops along the main roads. If you've got a travel trailer or a driver RV, this is a wonderful place to visit for a long weekend!! Highly recommend--and you CAN'T beat the value! read more

Rising Star is a nice casino to avoid all the hype and over priced table games. They do have nice eating establishments that may get missed. We stopped in Ben's Bistro and found great service (Jenny/Taylor) and excellent food. The service mindset of all the staff was impressive. We watched good team work, communication and employee engagement. If you are looking for a little gambling and a quick bite, I would recommend stopping here. read more

Dirtest casino I've ever been in. And I been in some dirty casinos (Think Terribles in Las Vegas) I can't believe how bad its gotten. The oldest machines...I don't think they've ever reinvested a $ in this place since it opened. I can't imagine why anyone would come here. We only stopped for a potty break. Depending on what part of the casino I'm writing about, the ratings can be different... so I'll break it down. Extras - 5 stars... at Christmas this is the place to be and a great place for the family. They have live turkeys in November and then live reindeer in December. One year they even had an ice skating ring in the front! The inside has an amazing Christmas display (with a live Santa) with a large tree that plays the 12 days of Christmas on the hour and has moving characters for each of the 12 days. The boat - 3 stars... its old and you can see it if you compare it to the other 2 casinos in the area. Roulette has an old school board that tells you what numbers have hit and sometimes it doesn't work. The bar inside the casino is a bit boring, but they do have good drink specials occasionally. The gaming - 4 stars: For the table games the minimum is usually lower than the other two casinos, especially on the weekend. The food - 4 stars: Not quite up to par with the other two, but I do enjoy Wellingtons (and if you pay cash on Sundays you get 20% off.... its also usually a 1000 pt table on Open Table). The other are good and have some good specials, but just not the higher scale atmosphere - the redeeming factor is their Skyline. Overall I like this place more for the town and Christmas events than the casino experience itself. read more

I've been coming to this casino/hotel off and on for years (since it was still the Grand Victoria) and it is going downhill fast. The whole complex is run-down and shabby. By that I mean gaming tables with gouges in them, worn spots, chips missing print and disheveled dealers and pit bosses. The casino is FILTHY (even as casinos go). They've removed pretty much all of their food options except their expensive and barely average steak house and their mediocre buffet. There are no other places to eat near the casino so those are the only options. The hotel rooms are reasonably clean but the accommodations are so old and run down that it seems like you're in 1996. They've started charging a $10/nt "resort fee" which is laughable since there's nothing remotely resort-like about any of the campus. After so many years, this was probably our last trip. With Belterra and Hollywood so close and maintaining their properties appropriately, there's really no reason to come here and feel like you need a shower immediately upon leaving. read more

Casino shows it's age. Many machines were not functioning. We were there on a Wednesday and Thursday night stay. They now charge $10 per night "resort fee". You do get free breakfast with it, but it's barely Continental Breakfast. The buffet no longer serves breakfast. In fact, it only is open Friday-Sunday. The overpriced steak house is also closed several days a week. The lobby bar is now the new sports book. Two of the casino bars were closed at 9pm on a Wednesday. Maybe they were never open? The new sandwich place was only open until 10pm on Wednesday, so no late night food for a place open 24/7. Casino and meal used to be much better. comps Not so much anymore. With two other casinos close by, you'd think this place would step up their game. There were few people here during out stay. read more

The check in is confusing, you have to take a shuttle to there. Sites are too small. We had to unhook from our 38 ft 5th wheel so we could park the tow vehicle otherwise. Otherwise, perfect for overnight stay. read more

I wish I had read some of these reviews before I came to Rising Star Casino. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. It is old and very dirty. I was here on a Saturday night and most of the machines were out of service. The ones that were in operation were not only filthy, but didn't pay or play like normal machines. One could say,"well that's gambling," but it's more like they have a license to steal. I am ashamed I contributed to their scheme. I have not been to this casino for a long time, but it is safe to say I will never return. At this rate, I don't know why anybody would. They really need to clean up the nastiness and upgrade the gambling environment if they want anyone to return. read more
