A friend had a filly she bred running in her first race, and she asked me to accompany her to Belterra. This is a small track with a casino. Grandstand parking and entry are free. The grandstand has a strange vertical design with minimal seating, and a staircase from the apron. The apron has tables with umbrellas. I had been to Belterra previously twice, but would not ordinarily go for racing. It is lower tier racing. If you live nearby, I assume it could be an entertainment option for you. 63 read more

My wife and I came up for a Sunday night. It was for a birthday. The room was barely ok. The safe in the room did not work, there were empty water and coke bottles left in the room and there was place on the bathroom floor that looked like blood. The restaurant selection was limited to three options. An upscale steak restaurant, a sports bar and a cafe. The casino was fine, but if second had smoke bothers you it will Be an issue. The bar in the casino was always backed up with a long slow moving line and the prices were not discounted. Overall, it was fine, but it definitely did not blow me away. Edit: I took this down to two stars. I got this morning to no hot water. Last night my wife said she got lukewarm water for her shower. Hot water is an expectation for any hotel and especially a place that clams it's a "luxury resort". If you look over my review catalogue you will see I give out 4/5 star reviews fairly regularly and 1/2 stars is rare for me. This was a disappointment from Belterra. read more

Casino hotels are always tricky for me because I'm someone who really likes to gamble, so I am almost always given free rooms. Still, I don't think my experience is different than what anyone who comes and pays for the room would be - especially at Belterra. This is a place that has a lot of potential. I can remember when I still lived at home (I grew up in nearby Northern KY) coming with my parents for the giant buffet with crab legs. The place was bustling and it was a fun evening, even though my parents don't gamble. I think those glory days are over. The buffet is no more... open only on major holidays. Most of the other restaurants have limited hours and the place is, especially during the week, practically empty. Still, I was able to connect with an extremely helpful casino host who hooked me up with a player's card and free rooms on two occasions. Note that they do NOT tier match, which is a bummer. I go to Las Vegas 2 or 3 times a month and NO - this isn't like Vegas. At all. I didn't expect that and you shouldn't either. None of the fawning, fancy VIP stuff... it's both refreshing and jarring. Some things to know: * They take early check-in seriously. It's 3 pm and do not come any earlier or they will charge you. They don't care who you are. * Valet parking is only on weekends - so expect to have to handle your own parking and bags. But the parking lot is free! * There just isn't much in the way of dining and you are pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Lower your expectations when it comes to meals. Our room was a basic mid-level hotel room... think Holiday Inn. I think the beds are miserably hard but mattress firmness is a really personal issue so YMMV. One thing that I really hated... during our second stay, the bedside alarm clock went off at 5 AM. I couldn't figure out how to turn it off, so the damn thing continued to go off every 10 minutes until I unplugged it. That's something that just shouldn't happen. Sloppy. The solicitous (and tip-expecting) staff you experience in Vegas has nothing in common with the staff at Belterra. They are not impolite but they don't really care that much and it shows. On our second stay, my mother needed a motorized scooter, which we were able to rent from the hotel. It was her first time using one so we asked for a tutorial. We got basically 1 minute of instruction and were sent on our way. We didn't know how to charge the thing, how to turn it on or off... nothing. The staff at Nosh was consistently deeply uninterested in customers. Casino staff are a little better (save for the security that stare at you as you go through the metal detector), but there is a distinct weariness and lack of interest. Food has been either just OK or not good. There aren't many options at all, and what is there all feels like they're just phoning it in. There is a very small high-limit slots room (I heard there were two, but couldn't find the other). There are some real antiques in the casino - if you like older slots, you will love it here. If you like the latest machines, you're going to struggle to find any. The casino will scratch your itch but that's about it - know what I mean? I don't think we'll do Belterra again... but I do plan to try out some of the Boyd properties in Vegas. If you live nearby, this may be a fun overnight or night out, but definitely not a reason for a special trip. read more

I would recommend staying here for your large group needs. Recently, my employer hosted a large conference here, feeding and housing employees here for one week. Throughout this week, we were provided decent food and excellent customer service. Staff were incredibly hospitable and always took great care of the group. The food was decent, about what you'd expect for large quantities of food being prepared at once. As far as the rooms go, they were clean, though a little bit dated and could use a good update. There was a bit of a lingering smoke smell, even being on a non smoking floor. Overall good experience and decent stay. read more

This place is big and wasn't too busy when we stayed here.   The lady who checked me in was nice and friendly.  We had parked on what we thought was close to the entrance.  It ended up being a ballroom/ concert part.  The space looked clean and huge as I walked through, or maybe it was because it was empty.  We had arrived around 8pm.  I kept following the signs until I found hotel registration.       The lady who checked me in was super nice,  I was sharing the experience of the drive there, and she shared her commute as well.   I didn't realize we were so close to Kentucky.      After checking in and walking towards the room, the hallways were nice and clean. The room itself was spacious along with the bathroom.   The layout of the bathroom was so big and spread out that it didn't make sense.   The toilet had the towels above, which was on the other side of the shower/tub.  Where the shower is there is nowhere to hang the towel.   The tub is higher on the inside,  and when I stepped out of the tub and hit, my leg on the trim was where you step out.   When my husband took a shower and stepped out, he almost fell out.   The grab bar should be on both sides of the tub, not just one.      The bed was big and comfy. So was the chair with the ottoman.   As nice as the hotel was,  the food was sub-par.  It felt like it was just microwaveable food being served.   Aside from that, this place was nice and I look forward to returning in the future. OK ladies and gentlemen. ROAD TRIP here! IDK why there have been some whining people about Belterra Golf Club. We moved from CA to about 30 minutes North of Cincy last year. I have played 8-9 of the best public courses within 30-50 miles of my house in the past year. (some 4-5x) Belterra is better than ALL of them for slightly more $. (yes better than "Stonelick Hills!") But WORTH the $$ and the 80 minute 1 way drive for me! Played yesterday afternoon and it was FANTASTIC A-Z! The clubhouse is huge and well appointed. The people are super helpful and loved the older starter guy. (forgot everyone's name I am 60 btw) :) He gave me the full rundown on what to expect. Free range balls, GPS, coolers with cold water in them. Also two clean towels in the cart. Cart girl/guy came around often and that was awesome also! Really well designed course by Tom Fazio! Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers all in great/upkept condition. (fix your divots on the fairways though people. I fixed 8-10 and mine every few holes!) I am normally in the mid-high 90's and shot a nice 88! I was even par through 4 holes! Anyways I think because the casino wants to attract more players, they keep the golf course in great shape. A course like this in San Diego (like Maderas in San Diego) would be $180-250+. This is that good of a course. I went into the casino and got a players card. Won $40 on slots and then basically had ribeye dinner at the Sports bar "free". Then got in my Cadillac with a full stomach and great thoughts about my golf day! I know this is a LONG review, but everything about this golf course is AWESOME. I will be coming every few weeks from now on. TY to the team for a FANTASTIC experience! read more

After staying here again, I raised my ratings to 4 stars. The hot water was still gone in the evening for showers, but was hot again in the morning. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Shout out to the ladies at Nosh for coffee in the morning. read more

After visiting some of the smaller casinos in Indiana, I came here without high expectations. We parked right outside the door and had our rooms in short order. The property is beautiful, and clean. And every employee I encountered went out of their way to make our visit special. The casino was friendly. I didn't get rich, but got lots of play. Blackjack tables are $15, and people seemed to understand the game here. We ate at the sports bar...what a spread we had. Way to much food. But my son made a second meal out of it later that night. Prices were reasonable, and comps are generous. Nice coffee shop that serves waffles, souffles, etc. for breakfast. Good value and food. I'm already planning a return trip. read more

I've been coming here for years and I really love the changes they've been making. First, the air handling has improved considerably. I'm a non-smoker, so coming to any hotel that houses a casino is often a challenge, particularly if there are both no smoking and smoking rooms. In years past, the smoke would somehow manage to "creep" into the non-smoking rooms. That is no longer the case and it's wonderful! The rooms appear to have been renovated, and they are gorgeous. As always, things are spotlessly clean here. If you can, spring for the deluxe room. The bathtub makes it so worthwhile. Stick a bath bomb in your suitcase and you won't regret it! It's amazing! Nosh is always a great breakfast option. The buffet is pretty inexpensive (and delicious!) and you can take it to your room if you don't want to eat at one of the little tables there. And Coffee! Yay! They now have a sitdown breakfast place called Salted Lime. Sometimes, when you're tired, it's nice to have someone bring your coffee, right? it looks to be a Mexican restaurant for lunch and dinner but I still need to check that out! Food here is solid. The Stadium restaurant is a good choice for a burger or some of the other lunch/dinner options. They have a good selection of beer and lots of sports on TV. I have not tried the steak place, but I hear it's amazing...more research if required. As of right now, there are no buffets being offered. The service here is amazing. From the person that treat you at the front desk to every housekeeper you run into in the hallway... Everyone is friendly and helpful. This is a reflection of good management! I booked two rooms and we all arrived on Tuesday, September 3rd, ready for a day of serious gambling. We got there at 11 AM, only to be told we'd have to pay a $28 "Early Check-in Fee" Per Room if we wanted to check in before 2 PM. So, we had lunch, we all left the casino, and spent our money elsewhere since they CLEARLY didn't want us there before 2 PM, even though the resort was empty. We returned at 6 PM to a virtually empty resort, checked in, and were hit with an $11 "Resort Fee" Per Room! No bellmen were available, no valet, no doorman, but the check-in staff was very friendly and nice. For dinner, our only options were the same sports bar, or a nice steakhouse. Because it was so freezing cold in the resort, we stuck to the sports bar because it was too cold to have a nice, long, expensive, formal dinner. The deluxe king rooms were very nice, and fully stocked with towels and amenities. Unfortunately, the showers in both rooms were barely lukewarm on full hot, so we weren't able to take showers in the evening. None of us gambled even one penny, because the casino was freezing, and with all the resort fees and "early check-in fees" in a near-empty resort, and no hot water in either room, we figured the machines would be WAY too tight to waste our money on. The resort felt deserted--we saw a total of just 18 other guests the entire time. In the morning, neither room had hot water again. I spoke with the desk manager, and she comped our resort fees and a dinner for our misfortune. Breakfast options? Just a coffee shop with a few pastries, so we checked out and went down the street 7 min away to Vevay, for a full and amazingly delicious breakfast. Despite everything, I was very generous in giving 4 Stars instead of 1 Star because the management was very kind and understanding and comped us for our misfortune. read more

Traveled here to see a journey tribute band. The facility was easy to enter and the parking garage had plenty of parking for a sat night. The facility was clean and very nice. I was seated a ways back on the floor but the floor is not inclined so I could barely see the stage over the people directly in front of me... Very poor design! I would not recommend seeing a show here unless you are sitting fairly close to the stage .Maybe they could raise the stage to alleviate that problem. There was two bars inside that had a pretty limited selection of beer and liquor. The prices weren't too bad either. read more

This is a typical riverboat casino, in that it is split on the hotel and the gaming hall. There are tables but they are not very active during the e week nights from what I saw and understand from the team members. The hotel was not bad it is a little dated and the shops are mostly vacant. The RTP (Return To Player) AKA payouts were atrocious and left much to be desired. All in all it is ok if this all you have to choose from but not what I would do for a primary playing location. read more

I feel like this place is the Junior Varsity of casinos as there is actively 40 people walking around trying to play cards but can't. The gaming space is a joke and I can't believe I drove 1.5 hours to check this shit hole. I'm glad I only booked one night. This casino is worse than the Circus Circus... Belterra Casino Resort located in Indiana was a great experience from beginning to the end. I booked on booking.com as usual for all my lodging needs. I stayed here while visiting Ohio, they are approx. 1hr from CVG airport. Its not a large casino, in my opinion actual perfect for my needs. The grounds and casino are well kept thru out. Check in/ out was a breeze, they let us check out late which was a huge plus. Plenty of free parking. I had a room facing the river and Belterra boat. We did enjoy the buffet, cost was $22 for dinner, including a drink. The fresh salmon and fish was a hit for me. No crabs legs on my visit, I heard they do have on another night. Lots of shops and other places to eat if you want something different. The only complaint I have is beware of the smoking in the Belterra boat, its very thick. I of course didn't stay long in this area. They are working on changing this I heard from a staff member. Other than that, no complaints. read more

we checked in to the hotel and put our overnight bags in our room. we then went down to gamble and we we're having a great time. We ate at the sports bar and gambled until 1am in the morning. Little did we know that the mattress was hard as a rock. I didn't sleep at all. Finally at 5:30am my husband and I began gathering our things and checked out. I asked Barbara at the front desk to speak with a manager but was told that they wouldn't be in until 8am. I left my name and number for the manager (Sam) to call me. I haven't received a call back. we live in Cincinnati and have plenty of places to go should we want to gamble, but one of our sons thought it'd be nice to reserve a room for us at Belterra for one night as a gift. With no sleep we left the hotel feeling exhausted. Then to not have the courtesy of a call from the manager to discuss our dissatisfaction is disappointing. read more

We stay here a few times a year when we come up and visit family. It is a pretty standard riverboat casino with a hotel. They have a 3 or 4 pretty decent restaurants in the hotel and a nice little coffee shop for breakfast. The gym is also fairly nice, but also a little outdated. The casino has all of the normal live games from craps to 3 card poker. The best part about this place is the golf course. Every time we have been here it has been in pristine condition. read more

(3 1/2 stars) This resort hidden in the extreme southeast corner of Indiana is approximately one hour from popular tourist attractions in KY and Cincinnati, OH. We were on a motorcoach tour and stayed here two nights (the resort offers good off-peak rates for large groups). My schnoz is sensitive to tobacco smoke but this was an issue only in the casino (which was not busy during our Sun-Tue stay). Other public areas and our room on the third floor were spacious and clean, and I did not detect any stale smoke odor in our room. Though smaller and less ostentatious than gaming shrines in Las Vegas, the resort and its amenities are nonetheless attractive and comfortable. Food quality exceeded our expectations (see my reviews of The Buffet and Stadium Sports Bar & Grill). My Missus spent an hour or so trying (unsuccessfully) to befriend Lady Luck in the casino, but the personnel there were friendly and helpful. Apart from the restaurants and bars, if you're not a gambler or golfer there is little else to do here and it's miles from the civilized world (no, I don't mean the nearest McDonald's). We felt isolated if not bored. The resort is pet-friendly but aimed towards adults, as there are no facilities or activities to engage the under-21 set. Just 3 shops, a spa, and an outdoor pool plus hot tub. No indoor pool (c'mon, this is a year-round resort!). Live entertainment is usually limited to weekend shows. read more

If you are looking for amenities, then come on the weekend when there is more food options available, Room was very clean and a/c nice and cold. Furniture is dated. Upgrades needed. Carpeting needs to be replaced with vinyl planking. Hallways need lots of love. Wallpaper is from an upscale funeral home. The carpet is an ink blot test gone wrong. Casino has smoking section and that seems to be an optional thing. Ashtrays at the non-smoking section So if you have breathing issues, then not your place. We had a Groupon for an over night deal. I get it, this place is a little older and with Covid they've probably lost a lot of revenue but this casino is screaming for an update. Screaming loud. And even with it being older, they really can police the cleanliness much better than they do. The machines just look "sticky" They're full ash trays everywhere..YUCK. CLEAN!! Casino has two levels and upper and lower plenty of table games slot machines video poker. The variety to cover everyone. The hotel was quiet and nice we slept well. I went to nosh picked up some burgers. There's plenty to do within the hotel they have retail shops plenty of restaurants. Had our company Christmas party last night at an amazing venue, the ambience and friendliness of the staff makes this a beautiful and wonderful place to have an event! The food provided was incredible and the decorations for the holidays were as well... this was the fourth year in a row that we have celebrated the holidays with this important local staple of the community. The Stadium in the casino used to be a fantastic fun place. Not anymore. Domestic bottles are $6.50. All of the regulars have left this place. I use to come in frequently and do not anymore. Everything has gone down hill. We ordered chips and dip tonight. Chips are terrible- greasy and smashed. It's such a shame. Management has ruined this place. I hope they are feeling it in the pocketbook. I have been coming here since they opened, and have watched it decline. I do feel bad for the new servers and bartenders. It's not their fault. I and many regulars go to other local bars and have better, cheaper drinks and better food. read more

Since a change in ownership the win ratio is pathetic. I used to go at least once a week traveling from Lexington Ky. I've been a few times and my experience gets worse each time. I can't win $2 from this place and it's rarely a site to see anyone win a Jackpot. I don't recommend this resort and will not be back. read more

The hotel is really nice.. the bathroom has a separate tub and shower and a TV. Food options are good. You can get a buffet, sports bar or a steakhouse - all of which are good (better when you have comps to pay for them!). As for the casino, it's nicer and a bit more modern than is rival up the river and with that comes higher game minimums. It gets a bit too crowded for me on Fridays and Saturday nights... you can't get into any table games. They had an electronic roulette table for a while, which is gone... it was one of my favorites (and helped when the real roulette table was full). read more

They are in the process of switching their players club card over since they got bought out and it has not been smooth so far. The online reservation has been down for over a month. You call but it goes to call center where the wait is always over 30 minutes. I scheduled a call back yesterday at 10am.... still waiting and it's the next day. The line to physically wait in for the players club card is tough, it's always about 15-20 minutes. I really really hope they can pull it together, maybe have some team meetings with staff, let everyone know what's going on. Currently it's a mess! read more

This was my 1st trip here, My son got tickets through golf now. The golf course is pretty nice. Not sure it's a $80 course. The discount is well worth it. The course is very pretty. There is probably the nicest in 40-50 miles in area. We walked around in hotel after golfing. Looked real nice. We had a meal @ Stadium (Sports bar). It was nice. Food was pretty good. read more

Its the most okay-est Casino resort of all time. Stayed for a work summit. Food terrific, room nice and spacious. Casino staff lack of respect to guests which aren't locals. Felt like I was in jail on free time. Of all things to fall short on, it falls short on service. Casino is pretty tiny but you don't notice it if you are a table game player. They have what you need. Pretty much a coin flip if your dealer isn't going to treat you like shit though. I had some great ones and some legitimate bottom of the barrel ones. Nothing but nice things to say about the hotel side. I wish I could remember the bartender for our events. She was awesome. Food was terrible. Bought chili dog which had absolutely no flavor. Also bought ham sandwich and bread fell apart. Walking through hallway to room and nothing but smell of skunk. Place is way overpriced and not worth it. Don't have buffet anymore either. The one place that sells breakfast only sells omelettes on certain days. After my first review, the manager contacted me to make it right when our room was smoky and entered three times by staff when the do not disturb sign was on. They offered us a free night's stay to make up for it. This time the room on the non-smoking floor was nice and smelled fresh and clean. We had a quiet stay and enjoyed the hotel and casino. Our breakfast order was late and arrived at our room after checkout time. The staff apologized telling us to take our time and enjoy the breakfast on the house due to the error. They are working hard to make things right and keep their guests happy. We certainly enjoyed giving them a second chance and hope to come back soon. read more

Belterra Casino Resort is everything you would expect from a casino. From the quality decor to the service. Checking in was painless and fast. A short elevator ride and I was at my room. Walking in I noticed their rooms are slightly larger than most hotels I've stayed in. Large picturesque windows let in tons of natural light. The bathroom was probably the biggest one I'd ever seen in a hotel. One downside to the bathroom was the shower head. If you're over 5 foot y'all, you're going to have to do some squats to rinse off. The rest of the room was nice and the beds were comfortable. The casino had anything and everything you could want to play. I hit up the roulette wheel and lost some money. The workers were professional and didn't mind showing new people how to play. I would come back here again in attempt to regain some of the money I lost! read more
