Dropped off my bags at Central Station and was looking for a nice little place to have a traditional Danish breakfast. Oh, thanks Yelp for this recommendation - i found Risteriet and couldn't have been better. I arrived really early, and the place only had a table with a couple of teenagers. I ordered a combo that came with three slices of bread, cheese, marmalade, some granola and you could choose a hot drink. I tried to order the whole thing in a broken Danish, and obviously didn't work but the lady was really nice and without laughing understood my ordered and helped me out. Coffee was good, the ambience is quite comfy and they have free WiFi. Would totally recommend you comer here for a cup of nice coffee or to hang out reading a book. read more

This café and roastery offer the best espresso in CPN that I have found. RH also bake their own bread (flour provided by the illustrious and industrious danish chef, Claus Meyer) and serve it with meat and cheese in the mornings, or warm it up and serve it panini-style for lunch. The location is both a draw and detraction. Like Janice C., the hubs and I only had to travel a block from our hotel for a cuppa and some grub. This place is a boon for those staying and living in the area. There are a few shelters in the vicinity that help those in need, and, while that is a GREAT thing, it also meant that we were privy to a few scenes of very upsetting street behavior. A few of the kids there were really super friendly and handled our out-of-towner questions with aplomb. This quaint little coffee shop was next to my hotel. I ordered the latte which was super aromatic. The crema was basically oozing out the perfectly frothed milk. The pricing of the latte is quite expensive (around $5-6 USD) but for quality taste and craftsmanship, it is worth the money. read more

This place was close to our Airbnb and my wife won in choosing our breakfasts stop. The menu is small, but the quality makes up for it. I rarely give 5 stars, but I must fully explain. The charcuterie and cheese plate my wife got was DELICIOUS! Go for the Danish cheese. I like cheese, but I could easily crave this. Like middle of the night searching the streets for it kind of craving. Wait. Let me continue.... They were hopping for Sunday morning and they said the fresh bread would take about 15 minutes. No biggie. You had me at fresh baked bread! The coffee was very good as well, and I had a chocolate croissant that was light, flaky and not too sweet. So now for the extra star. The staff is lovely. As I said, they were busy, but everyone was friendly and did not look overworked even though they were grinding. The best part was the dude working there with the magnificent man bun. I am from Portland, OR so I KNOW man buns. Usually I roll my eyes, but this guy's was a work of ART! I would love to include a pic, but I can't be rude and take a one. All I can say is kudos sir! A wonderful micro roaster in Copenhagen located in the Vesterbro neighborhood, this cafe was a block away from my hotel (and conveniently close to Kobenhavn central station) so I decided to pop in one morning to sample their coffee. Well, let's just say that I came back to this coffee shop 3 days in a row. I'm not a coffee drinker at all, but Scandinavia has totally messed up my sleeping schedule. With only 2 hours of sleep, I got a cafe americano (automatically comes with 2 shots of espresso so make sure to ask for only one if you're not used to caffeine like I am). Coffee beans are ground fresh and they make sure everything is done properly. Grab a Danish pastry (or in Copenhagen they call it "French", poking fun at the French people) to go with your cup and you'd be ready to tackle the day. I really loved the warm smiles of the baristas here (specifically Fie the manager) and felt very welcomed. They also have free wifi with lots of seating inside the shop. Drinks start at 20 DKK. If you feel like you need caffeine to be injected intravenously, I recommend the Red Eye: 2 shots of espresso AND 2 cups of coffee served in a tall glass. All you self proclaimed java addicts will be walking out of here with your tail between your legs after you finish this .... that or you'll be ordering the "Crybaby". Come here and find out what that is. read more

Loved the vibe. Great for coffee and a light breakfast! Came here since it was a block away from our hotel and had the breakfast platter. It was very filling. The latte was served in a little expresso glass which I thought was interesting. Bread and cheese were fresh and I liked the little yogurt with nuts and the jam. Would definitely be back! read more

An average cute cafe near the meat packing district. There is free wifi so you can find some loners at the window tables on their computers. On the bad side, the cafe does not have so many tables so be prepared for waiting for one or for squeezing in with others. The interior is quite rustic, which I liked. The walls are from bricks and there are small black lamps on top of every table. The coffee and warm chocolate that we had were good but again, I am not a coffee expert. I liked the music which was chilling and relaxing in the background. There was a good atmosphere in this cafe although it is halfway under the street level. The service was very friendly and fast and it seemed like a popular cafe on a Sunday afternoon. If you re in the area it's a good cafe to spend few hours at, but I don't think I would travel from another part of the city just to go there. read more

Absolutely do not go to this place, unless you want to be totally ripped off and insulted. We ordered iced lattes, and when I tried mine, it was 100% apparent that the latte had been made with rotten milk. It was entirely undrinkable. My boyfriend took the lattes up to the counter immediately and explained the situation, requesting that the lattes be remade with almond or soy milk. They refused. They were beyond offended and wouldn't remake them or give us a refund. The woman tried to insinuate that we didn't know what milk or lattes were supposed to taste like, which is insane. I've had plenty of delicious iced lattes in my life and in Copenhagen, and I know exactly what rotten milk tastes like. This iced latte had rotten milk, plain and simple. I guess they were annoyed that someone would call them out on this blatant health code violation, but it was so insulting. We eventually convinced them to give us a refund, but it was a serious struggle. When the woman gave us the money back, she couldn't have been more unpleasant, telling us to "have a shitty day." All because THEY served us rotten milk. So I repeat, do not go to this cafe. There are so many good cafes in Copenhagen that won't serve you disgusting spoiled milk in your iced latte. I can't believe I was treated like this. I'm still in shock over their behavior. read more

I came here for a small bite and a cold brew, the menu is small, but their main attention is towards coffee. Come here with a couple people or by yourself, it's a very small place, but located within walking distance of the central station. I'd give it a bigger review, but really I was just there for some coffee and a bite. read more

We went here on a cold afternoon, looking for something warm and we obviously figured this place out thanks to yelp app. The place is low on the basement level, on the side street of Halmtorvet. We had warm chocolate each that was good, very thick and frothy albeit a little too sweet for me. We didn't try the coffee which was bad, because obviously it's their specialty - duh - maybe next time. I notice that they sell also coffee beans and coffee makers / accessories, being a Risteriet and all. read more

The coffee was good, but the breakfast plate of bread, cheese, and charcuterie was even better! The bread is baked fresh in the cafe, and it is dense, crusty, soft, and wonderful. The charcuterie included both prosciutto and chorizo, and the cheese was some kind of cheddar relation--all delicious. Add in free wi-fi and the ability to use any credit card, and Risteriet Halmtorvet was my favorite breakfast in Copenhagen. read more

First time in Copenhagen and excited to try this restaurant with friends. We ordered and waited…read more1.5 hours to be told there was a mixup in the kitchen with our order and it was just put in. All 4 of us heard the server say, It's on us! After another 30 minutes we asked if we could at least get our salads which came out shortly after. Our meals came out 15-20 minutes later. Ribeye was tasty and fries were good but not exceptional as we had anticipated. We had to ask server for our desserts which we had ordered initially with the meal. The table was cleared and then our desserts came out. By this point we had been there about 2.5 hours. We told the server we were ready to leave and the check came. We said we thought the meals ( each couple shared one meal) were on them. The server said that we had been told only our drinks would be on them! One couple only drank water and the only thing comped for a 2 hour wait for food was for a Diet Coke and a lemonade. Certainly not what we were told. Will not be recommending Fleisch to other friends as it did not meet our expectations.

And trust me, I'm not being vulgar or sexist lol! If you're not fluent in Danish... Brød simply means bread. Ya! It's more than just bread! Bageriet Brød is located in the Vesterbro neighborhood of København and popular with the local Danes, so you pretty much know it's legit. I planned to bike over one early morning, but since WiFi was non-existent on the streets I couldn't unlock a bike, so did it the old fashioned way and walked about six blocks. Not the worse thing since I planned on carbing up! It's in an old neighborhood lined with boutiques and cafes, most still closed that early. Bageriet Brød is open! Yasss! I enter to Danes ordering morning Brød, coffee, etc. It gives me just enough time to peruse the menu in.. Danish! Lol! No worries since I do speak a little French, Spanish and English which does nothing here lol. Honestly most Danes in København speak perfect English, so no worries, mon. Order away... There's really no line, per se, but Danes are honest, never in a rush, the line is by honor system, so even tho two people slid ahead of me, when it was my turn, everyone turned my way lol. So I ordered the Morning Cinnamon Bun, Almond Croissant, Latté. The young Danish lady making my Latté was polite and spoke perfect English. Definitely easy on the eyes, but hey what's my verdict? I'll tell ya once I cross the street and find a bench. I decide to eat the Morning Cinnamon Bun first! Oh my! Each bite literally melted in my mouth! Crisp exterior with soft interior. So delicious! The Latté on point! Maybe not the best I've had, but I think the cute Dane who mix'd it - certainly convinced me it was the best! :D I decided to eat the Almond Croissant later, which ended being as soon as I got back to my hotel! And it was as amazing as the Bun I had earlier! Just Wow! After reading the reviews on Yelp & Google I knew my wants! :D Denmark still uses the native Dansk Krone currency rather than the Euro, fortunately, most businesses, will gladly accept your credit card. I also reached out to Rachel, former San Francisco Yelper, and now expat living in København that informed me of the Bageriet Brød and iconic Tartin Bakery connection. It all made sense after the fact! If you're unfamiliar with Tartin in San Francisco it is a pilgrimage for lovers of baked goods! Story goes that the owner of Tartin influenced Bageriet Brød to the point that they have some of his secret recipes! I've had Tartin before and I admit the quality is very familiar! What a small loving world we live in, huh?! In the end, I highly recommend Bageriet Brød in København! Amazing baked goods that will knock your Ecco's off! Just remember to bring your CC unless you be carrying Dansk Krone on ya! Jeg elsker også dig! And yes, I believe in fairy tales... :)

I got the following: - Cinnamon Roll: delicious. - Falafel Bowl: incredibly tasty. The lentil salad it comes with was my favorite part. It's crunchy and so flavorful. Highly recommend. This place is open early morning till late night. So definitely try it out.
