Food: Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed as I don't think I would come back for the food. I was really looking forward for the pacchero and truffle pasta but the pasta was overcooked and it didn't taste anything special. The grilled beef was also a bit overcooked and the berry tart was a bit too hard to even cut it. However, the daily special was pretty tasty and the beef was very tender. Service: The staff was amazing! Everyone was so nice and attentive. It showed that they really care for their customers and are very accommodating. Ambiance: Breathtaking view! On our last evening in Tuscany, we dined here. What a way to end the trip!! It was an incredible culinary experience, the view spectacular and fantastic service! We started with the onion pudding with truffles, and the ricotta with pecorino mushrooms. Both were divine! For dinner, my hubby got the steak with potatoes and I got the truffle cream pasta with a salad. Each bite was better than the last ! To finish our meal, we got the shortbread with fruit and cream. Everything about this experience was incredibly special !! You may have to take a dirt road for quite a while, depending on where you're coming from, but it is correct and definitely worth it !!!! read more

Absolutely delicious. We ate here in 2009 and then again 2024. Still very good. The pasta seemed much better and more authentic in 2009 but it was still very good. I love they finish it off with limoncello on the house. Bread was just okay could be better. read more

Our group was warmly greeted and seated 30-minutes ahead of our reservation time. Recommend getting there with plenty of time to secure one of the few parking spots. Their onion pudding, gnocchi and andouille starters were beautiful. If they offer the garlic ribs, go for it! Nice lemon cello after dinner. Food Service Ambience Parking Just kidding about the last one. You need to drive here but parking is harder than San Francisco on a bring your car to work day. But we didn't come for the parking. You can't go wrong with anything. Just close your eyes and pick. You can't miss. And as usual, save some room for the limoncello at the end of the meal. Anything with truffles is a must try. If you are anywhere in Toscana, you MUST come here for lunch! I've always commented on restaurants with good views and have mostly been disappointed with the food aspect; HOWEVER, this place delivered on everything. From the stunningly gorgeous hillside views of vineyards, to the most genuinely friendly staff, to the mouth watering food that was served, this restaurant is an absolute MUST! If you want one of the tables with a view, you must make a reservation days in advance and request it! Even if you don't get a view though, the restaurant is so divine and tranquil, you won't feel like you're missing out. Now the food: I started with the red onion soup with black truffles on the recommendation of a few reviews. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it exceeded all of my expectations. The pasta stuffed with porcini mushrooms topped with generous slices of black truffles was simply perfect. The top is a bit crunchy, the inside soft, tender and beautifully cooked. The wild boar pasta was also good, it just didn't compare to the truffle pasta. And lastly, I know people get defensive about tiramisu, but this was the BEST tiramisu I had in my 17 days in Italy! read more

Way up in some of the highest hills in the Chianti Classico district is the village of Lamole. Known for delicate and lighter-bodied wines, they also host this great restaurant with wonderful food, really friendly service and this killer view of the surrounding hills, especially if you sit outside for your meal. A great great place to enjoy a classic Tuscan "Cena" while drinking their local wine and watching the sunset. We've been there twice, and usually get their Bistecca Fiorentina (among a number of other goodies) to share. And, yes, their wines are terrific. The drive up the road to Lamole from the 222 can be a bit nerve-wracking for the uninitiated, but its worth it. If you can't bear to do the same route after your meal, go uphill and take the gravel road back down to Panzano. Yes, its unpaved, but its actually more gradual and has fewer hairpin curves. It is a rather challenging drive up the hills, but once you arrive, the venue is worth the effort. The views are wonderful. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic. Clearly this was our one of our best meals during our two weeks in Italy. There were 4 of us dining together and we all ordered different starters and main courses. It gave us the opportunity to try multiple selections. All of the dishes did not disappoint. The staff was very understanding as they delivered multiple extra plates to our table. Their wine selection is extensive, but I recommend the local vineyards in Lamole. The wines from this area are very good and the higher altitude creates some wonderful chianti wines. Omg! I found this place on Yelp, we were wine tasting in the area and I was looking for a nice place to say goodbyes to the beautiful Tuscany and found this place. Its about an hour driving from where we were but the reviews were so awesome that we decided to just go for it. Once we got there the servers told us that we needed a reservation and the place was pretty booked. We explained that we drove from really far and they were able to accommodate us in a small table inside but we still had the views. Excellent food and service, this hilltop restaurant is located in a tiny village after a long drive along a narrow road. It's is simply breathtaking and beyond romantic. Unbelievably delicious. If you're lucky enough to find yourself near Greve and you're looking for a lovely dining experience, this is your place. My friends and I came here on our last night in Tuscany. The food was incredible - cheeses with truffle honey and red pepper sauce, truffle pastas, braised rabbit with potato puree and veggies, decadent desserts, and of course limoncello and amaro. This was the best dinner we've ever had. It is totally worth the drive. We ate here on our last night in Chianti and it definitely will be on our list of places to revisit when we come to Italy again. Everything on their menu sounded delicious so we got multiples of each course. We started with carpaccio topped with arugula, Parmesan, and balsamic and burrata with vegetables. The meat melted in our mouths and the balsamic was so rich and syrupy. The waitress also brought us a sample of their fennel salami and a cheese with truffle honey on it that they make and sell there. We definitely bought a jar of that honey to bring home. One of the pastas we got was a truffle pasta and it was covered in truffles! Their ricotta gnocchi was so light and fluffy. When it came to the main course we wanted to try the bistecca alla fiorentina. Our waitress advised us that it was a huge serving so she recommended the chef cook us a portion of the steak without the bone so we could still have the flavor, but we wouldn't be overdoing ourselves since we had already eaten a lot of food. It was a great recommendation and the steak was cooked to perfection. We ordered a few desserts that were amazing as well. And then they bring out a whole bottle of limoncello that you can have as much as you like. This night we had some of the best food we've ever had and and the service and ambiance were top notch. read more

Fantastic restaurant in the little town of Lamole in Chianti, Tuscany. It is situated on top of a hill, with a large terrace with a stunning view of the rolling hills and vineyards of the region. The chef Filippo is very welcoming and speaks good English, and so does the rest of the staff. The food is typically Tuscan, and incredibly fresh - local hams, cheeses (oh, the burrata!!), and white truffles in abundance when in season. Ask for today's specials which are different almost every day, or go for the a la carte. I recommend the red onion flan with white truffle, the ravioli with ricotta and pear and the to-die-for tiramisu. Their wine selection is varied and with good price ranges (20€ and up). A lot of local Chianti Classico from the region, both smaller and larger wineries, and the owner also has his own rosé which is very refreshing and tasty. We stayed in a house just down the hill and went here for lunch and dinner three times in one week. If you are passing through the area, it is worth a stop, or even a detour. read more

Heaven on Earth. It's hard to get to, up a largely unmarked winding mountain road above Greve in Chianti. Don't let that stop you. We have been here twice, the first time about five years ago. We were surrounded by mostly idyllic Italian families with lots of well-behaved chattering, playing children. A table with three young, well-inked Italian men behind us and another table of slightly older well-dressed Italian men, several with jaunty straw panamas with black ribbons, all enjoying the sunshine, the soft warm air, the glorious vistas, and the food. OMG, the food. The food represents everything we love about Tuscany. It is simple and elegant and sourced locally in the surrounding Chianti region. on the constant search and selection of high quality raw materials that the generous Chianti region and provides us with a particular care for the presentation of the dishes. We started with a shared appetizer: seasonal asparagus in a rich spring green, some of it sliced, some of it pureed, surrounding a perfectly poached egg with a sprinkling of black salt. I doesn't get simpler than that. Asparagus and an egg. Music. I had a light, sweet ravioli with pear and pecorino cheese from Siena, and my husband enjoyed the wild boar tagliatelle with fresh porcini mushrooms, followed by a braised rabbit that we shared. My husband and I have been coming here since we were hiking around Lamole in the early 1990s and stopped here after lunch and before dinner and they whipped us up a small plate of food because they saw how hungry we were. Fast forward 20+ years and we are now coming with family and friends every time we visit Chianti. And when we do Filippo and Paolo greet us like old friends. Beyond the kindness and warmth of the hosts you have some of the finest food anywhere. The ravioli with pear and pecorino are the go to "primi" for my 17-year-old and myself. Other favorites include the sausage with white cannellini beans, the tagliata, and any of the homemade pastas. Reserve in advance to get a spot on the terrace to watch the sun set over Chianti.
