When the roommate was looking at ring settings, he ended up picking one from Ritani. We live in San Francisco, so the closest place carrying their brand was the Gift Center & Jewelry Mart. We made an appointment and arrived on Saturday, March 30th around 12:45pm. We requested seeing a particular setting, so they had the ring on hand. I tried a few more on, but ended up liking the halo setting the roomie originally chose. We purchased the diamond elsewhere, so we left it with the jeweler to make the ring. A few weeks later, I stopped by to pick it up. It ended up beautiful. So sparkly. I've had it for a while and I adore it. My only complaint is that I think the setting is made for full or half carats, so some of the diamonds in the halo don't sparkle as much as the prongs can get in the way at certain angles. (My diamond is exactly in the middle of a full and half carat weight increment.) Luckily, when we bought the setting, they were doing 20% off, so we saved a bit of money. Plus, the ring was appraised (with the diamond) at a few grand more than paid, so such a great deal! I love a bargain! I haven't seen many rings with the band I got, so I'm very happy with the ritani setting. Especially the peekaboo row of diamonds on the side. I haven't seen that on any engagement rings. Save your money and go elsewhere! This is the place to make the engagement ring process more stressful. Lack of transparency and deceitful practices. For my custom ring order, I was given a quote and told I would be given a link to place an order. However, this was the beginning of contradictory statements and a sign I should have brought my business elsewhere. I asked for 1 small revision based on the CAD renderings (changing the arrangement of small stones on the band) and when I went to place an order, the customer support contact then told me I could not place an order via a link and I would then have to call in and gave me a revised quote of $600+ MORE. When asked about the revised quote, I was told that the first quote I was given was "too low". I pointed out that the small change (changing the small stones on my setting to be pave instead of micropave) did NOT justify the $600+ price increase. I found similar designs on their site that were priced in the range of my original quote and even shared that with them. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging their mistake in giving me an "incorrect initial quote", they told me they could only honor the quote I was given if I forgo any changes on my custom ring order. Their fault in the process became something I now had to deal with and accept. I ended up giving in as the change I suggested was minimal anyway and I was hopeful the ring would at least turn out fine. However, the nightmare came when the ring arrived already damaged with a missing prong, no engraving, and missing appraisal documents. The ring was also not secured and loosely left in the ring box when shipped. Reaching out again to customer support, I was told the estimated time for repairs was 4-6 WEEKS, far longer than it took for my ring to be made from scratch. After pushing back on this timeline, they promised to make the repair and ship it in a week. A week later I still hadn't received any updates on the repair and again had to contact support. The lack of communication and transparency at this point was ridiculous. The ring was delayed to ship and wasn't shipped until 3 days later. On their site, they advertise that they ship via FedEx overnight, well it turns out despite knowing my ring was delayed by the fault of Ritani, they chose to ship it via 2 day shipping. Upon receiving my ring to no one's surprise, the appraisal was STILL missing despite customer support assuring me that this would be included this time. Even worse, they were too cheap to actually ship the ring with the original box packaging that comes with every order. The ring box was literally sent by itself with no appraisal AND without the original packaging my order came with. The whole process has been deceitful with no acknowledgment of wrong doing or proactiveness to solve the issues they caused. I highly recommend going elsewhere for your ring and spare yourself the stress and time. This whole process ended up taking over a month when it should have been completed within 2 weeks. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! Their customer service people will stop all communication if they want to. They will literally ignore your calls as well as emails. The prices on the site are seldom right. I've purchased several stones from them to have at least 1/2 of my orders be problematic. They overcharged me and never refunded me. They intentionally leave stones on the site that show a cheap price then never have them available. They send you options that are much higher priced and say too bad so sad. I asked to be invoiced for a stone via email to Ryan, who is supposed to be in charge of her department, to find out the next day she didn't do the invoice so I would have to pay the $20 increase in cost. Keeping in mind they show you a price breakdown making it seem like you know the cost of the stone which they will change whenever they want to. I watched them change those costs overnight on the exact same stones. Be wary of this company and read all of the reviews before going with them. Other sites are much more honest. Check the reviews on Google as well as Yelp and their own site( which they may not post your review if they decide not to. They don't care about anyone as a customer and take the attitude of you don't buy someone else will. Even after all of this I had referred someone to them. This person didn't want to have to create an account to purchase 1 stone. I explained to them the situation and they refused to give the $10 discount because I already had an account and the other person had to fill it all out including a phone number, which it doesn't ask for to begin with. Pretty childish from the Director of finance of the company. OTHERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. This company would rather lose 2 customers over a $10 discount then just doing it for someone who has been a repeat customer referring someone to them. Last thing. They sent me an email confirming a stone was set aside for me and told me the same thing when I called. I had a custom setting made for a customer because they said it was coming to me. Then a day or two later when I called them they told me it was a mistake and oh well. I lost my customer as well as the money spent on the custom setting. They refused to do anything for compensation even though they were the ones who send me the wrong email. I truly hope this helps anyone reading this comment and would absolutely advise looking elsewhere for stones or jewelry. If it is going to be that special day for you congratulations and read about how people aren't getting what they ordered or having to propose without a ring because they this company messed up. read more

I am new to buying engagement rings. I spent hours looking and reading online. I finally made my choice, but really wasn't sure what my GF would like so I wanted a company who would be flexible with their return policy. I chatted with a customer service rep, she told me 30 day return policy, for whatever reason, no problems. I needed to be reassured, I emailed them, they wrote back in hours, same deal, 3o days, for whatever. With that I spent the time, looked at the styles and picked the diamond. The order came fast. Packed in a secure box. There is a cool metal card that certifies your stone and ring as well as the GIA info on your diamond. The presentation box is sturdy and nice. I was happy with everything. I asked, she said yes. She loved the ring, loved the stone, kept talking about the sparkle. But, she felt the band was too thin for her style, wanted something thicker. With that I contacted the rep again, and hassle free the return process has begun. I anticipate it going smoothly, and will update this if it doesn't. In the mean time we are going to look around and see what other rings we like. If we can, we'll buy from Ritani again. This is by far one of the best companies I have dealt with. Shopping for jewelry isn't always the best experience at some chains. If you haven't done all of your homework on learning diamonds, many stores will take advantage of you. I had purchased two diamonds previously at two different stores but returned them when I realized I had overpaid for lesser quality diamonds. Thankfully I found Ritani. They have the best return policy since they will cover shipping to return the item if needed. They also have the best customer service. I spoke with a couple people in customer service and they were all very helpful. The person I spoke with most was Silvia. She was very knowledgeable and so helpful. I purchased a diamond here that was far better quality for the price at stores. I was able to get an ideal cut diamond for the same price that another store had a fair cut diamond listed for. That's a HUGE difference in sparkle. I had been to chains like Jared and they were way overpriced for the same diamond. I returned the previous diamond I had and had the ritani diamond set into the ring I purchased. Ritani shipped it very fast. It made a big difference in looks. Luckily I was able to use the new year special where they absorbed the tax! So that saved me an extra few hundred. I felt so much better with this purchase. I had the diamond appraised by someone near where I lived and it was appraised for a lot more than I paid. I definitely had a great deal. Searching online was extremely easy. Once you know what specs to look for, it's easy. I'm one of those people that has buyers remorse very easily, but I feel great with this purchase. I bought a ring from here. I got a free preview in my local store. That is a very beautiful diamond with a high-quality setting. I liked it very much. So I decided to buy it immediately. When I looked it in the sunshine, I saw a small spot in it. I understand it is normal because I bought an SI2 clarity diamond. But I still want to buy an eye clear as my wedding ring . So I called their customer service to return it. They gave me a return number, and a FedEx overnight shipping label with full insurance. About 2 days later, the refund returns into my account. Then they send a professional person to help me find the right one. He gave me a lot of advice, they were all very helpful. Finally, I bought a perfect ring for my wedding. ****DO NOT BUY RITANI**** We purchased my wedding band in palladium. I was happy with how the ring looked when I received it but it was downhill from there. I of course didn't wear the ring until after I was married. With a few days the satin finished began to come off!! Seriously less than a week a wear and anytime it came into contact with anything solid it would take the finish off. The ring looked like it was all scratched up but there were no scratches. I called and sent it back assuming it was defective as this was not a cheap ring. I was contacted by Marina M who indicated she was a customer service supervisor. She told me this was normal wear!!! I was shocked. Anyone that looked at my ring commented how terrible it looked already but this is normal for a Ritani ring?!?!? I asked to return the ring. Marina indicated she would have to speak with the CFO because the rerun would be over 30 days. It was 37 days since I purchased the ring! Who wears their wedding ring right after purchasing it. She then informed me that she did not have authority to accept the return and immediately shipped the ring back. Unbelievable! No other option. Too bad, out of luck, you are stuck with a ring that looks terrible. Everyone do yourself a favor and go to Blue Nile. I purchased my wife's engagement and wedding rings from them and they were both gorgeous and Blue Nile has been a million times better to work with. We tried the free preview option where you can select a stone and they will set it for you in your size and send it to a local jeweler partner so you can see it in person and try it on. It typically takes a week, but because we requested it, they sent it even sooner. They also held the ring for longer than a week while we decided. History of a nightmare: Saturday I ordered a classic solitary (around 800 $) from Ritani website with a great help from a local jewelry employee. Is my first engagement ring so I needed to be sure that nothing can go wrong. The delivery date was the Wednesday and it was perfect because Thursday I will have to fly back to Italy. Purchasing done and I received the e-mail with the reference code and all the data. And until now all was fine, I was really happy, is a big step for me! Monday I received an e-mail from RITANI there were some problems because of my italian credit card (Mastercard). I've bought many things (and with higher value) in US without a problem. The billing team said that they not accept foreign credit cards and I have to pay with a US credit card or a bank wire transfer. I answered to the e-mail asking why the credit card was accepted from the system? Of course if they have these "policies" they can write it in a note and anyway when they accept the online order the information that was a foreign credit card was already there. I wrote them that for me wasn't a problem to do the bank transfer but I needed the bank details and only if they confirm the delivery date on Wednesday. No answer. They sent me another e-mail asking me how I want to proceed. I answered again... no answer. I've sent another e-mail today but after having wait a little bit I've decided to call RITANI. They never received/read my e-mail. I've told them that they can charge my credit card because I don't need a preview but I want to buy the ring. They've said to me that was not possible for their "policy". Of course now there is no time to do the bank transfer because they can process the order only when the money is officially on their account (it takes a couple of day usually). I was looking forward to give the engagement ring during a perfectly planned holidays... but thanks to RITANI that will not happen! They have the absolute best customer service, hands down, and will go out of their way to make sure you are completely happy with your purchase. The 30 day return policy is the real deal, no problems whatsoever. Their priority is your total satisfaction, including an amazing custom design option. At no point in time did we ever feel pressured or anything except happy and excited! They have non-commissioned certified gemologists on staff (Sylvana is AMAZING and so is Nicole W in customer service!) who can help you compare diamonds using imagery, which is incredibly helpful. We were apprehensive about this process but came out beyond thrilled with everything. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. We purchased an engagement ring from Ritani and within a few months we noticed a crack in the band. Ritani informed us it was our fault the crack was there and that we would be charged to fix it. Fine. They fix it and send it back to us and shortly after the crack reappears! Ritani informs us that now, our ring is unrepairable and must be replaced. WHAT?! On top of that, they stated WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT because it doesn't fall under manufacture warranty. Ok, so we had several reputable jewelers (including jewelers that sell the Ritani brand) who examined the ring and stated that the crack was due to POROSITY and bubbles forming during the manufacturing process WHICH IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. One of the jeweler's, CD Peacock, even called Ritani on our behalf to inform them of this! When brought to Ritani's attention, they denied it and still claim that the crack is our fault and we must pay for a replacement. You have been warned. read more
