Took my Hugo Boss watch here to replace its original leather strap since it was due for change. The guy who helped me, Constantine, showed me a few different options for replacement. After replacing the band I informed him that the new strap is longer than usual. Rather than owning up to it he kept telling me that it's "standard" sizing and that my wrist is small. I decided to go back after a few days as the strap was ridiculously long and not a good fit for my wrist. I told him about the situation and how the original strap of the watch was prefect size. He told me to come back in a few days since he had to order the band. I come back to replace the band and he was asking 2x the price of the original band that I had already paid for. Not only he didn't fix the original issue, but he tried to make 2x more than the original price. Straight robbery. I told him about the issue as how he deceived me of the XL band being "standard" sizing and wanting to charge me 2x the original cost of the XL band. He started arguing that the band is already used... Overall, a horrible experience and customer service. Also be aware, he kept telling me that he would service my Rolex on my wrist. Multiple times without me asking him. Not sure why, but came off very weird. read more

My wedding ring was long overdue for servicing and re-sizing after I lost almost 20#. I had loose prongs putting me at risk of losing the diamond. I also had to have the band re-sauntered to the ring. My ring had some discoloration too. Rita explained to me in depth what they were going to do. They do all of their work in-house. When I picked it up I couldn't believe how perfect it was. It looked brand new. She also gave me clear instructions on taking care of it and she gave me a cleaner for free. I went in on Saturday to have the batteries replaced on two watches, something I've done many times before here. After changing the battery on the first watch, the gentleman brought it to me and said he changed the battery, but cannot change the time. I told him that except for the battery dying a few days ago, the watch was in perfect working condition. He just said that now he can't change the time, but he left the new battery in there because it's too much work to open the watch to try to repair it or take the battery out. He said he wouldn't charge me for the new battery, but now I have to take my watch somewhere else to be fixed. No compensation was offered at all. He said he would go and change the battery in the other watch, but I asked him for it back because the last thing I needed was for him to break that one as well. I'm so upset about the whole situation to say the least. I will never again recommend them and will discourage my family and friends from ever using them again. read more

I went into Rita's last week because I was in the neighborhood. I had bought a watch for my son's birthday and needed some links taken out. Because my son is only 13 it was an inexpensive watch that I purchased elsewhere. Constatine did not make me feel bad for bringing a cheap watch into his jewlery shop, instead he said I made a great choice for my young son. He took 4 links out (my son is skinny) lol, only charged me $10 and told me to bring it back in if I needed to add a link or take an extra one out at no charge. Very, very unhappy. Took an antique platinum ring in to be re-pronged. Went to pick it up and was told,they re-pronged in white gold, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!! they made the decision themselves and never called or asked me at all. The value of the ring has been reduced and I am heart broken. What made it worse was, instead of apologizing for their grave error and what can only be called "unapproved vandalism" of my ring, I was told that they could not fix it with platinum and if they could not, NO ONE COULD!!! I still had to pay for the metal butchering! My antique ring is now mixed metal and no longer pure platinum and I was not given an option. I can't take it anywhere else to have the white gold removed as i cant afford to, as I still had to pay them!!It was done to my property without my permission. I am angry and unhappy, so be warned, if you take your treasured items there, its going to done their way, and you will NOT be consulted!! read more

Buying jewelry is like buying a new car--you can easily get ripped off and the item starts depreciationing before you get out the door. 1.5 years ago I had a huge mishap with losing my beloved wedding ring in the surf. I was so dang upset and knew that $ was tight and that replacing it was going to be hard let alone upgrading it. I came across Rita's Jewelry, located off Alicia and the 5 several times before--taking in my other jewelry for repairs. I went into the store feeling defeated--there was no way I could ever afford a custom made piece from these artisans. After speaking at length with the husband and wife owners, they encouraged me to dream big and design something. I did and they said they could do it in the price range that I had given them + a few more bucks, cuz i did dream big. I could not believe it. They created a treasure that blew me away. Please do not believe the other reviews on this jewelry shop. I had 4 batteries replaced at this "fine" store. The next time I put the watch on I noticed that there were pieces of debris behind the crystal on the watch face. I promptly took the watch back to have it cleaned out/repaired/etc. When I showed the watch to Constantine I didnt even get to finish my statement before he accused me of breaking the watch. He instantly pointed out an extremely small scratch and said that I hit the watch against something and that is why there was debris behind the crystal. They might be good with engagement rings and jewelry but dont let him touch your watch. Any store that accuses a customer before even hearing what they have to say has no customer service at all. There are a lot of reviews that are positive and I have no doubt that many have had a great experience. My experience was aweful and I would not recommend them to anyone. I had been a good customer of theirs but will never go there again and will tell everyone I can not to visit this store. I hope they go out of business!!! read more
