Food and architecture are two areas where it deserves far more recognition, and this market showcases both beautifully. 2. I'm coming back. 3. There is absolutely zero chance I stay in a hotel next time. I need a place with a kitchen. When I return, I fully intend to walk through this market, buy from no fewer than 10 stalls, and somehow end up preparing enough food for 25 people--even if it's only my family of four. The specialties here are endless. The uncooked pierogies nearly broke my heart because I had no way to take them home and cook them myself. Sausage lovers will be in heaven, and beyond that, you'll find incredible produce, fresh fish, quality proteins, and a wonderful representation of the many cultures that make Cleveland what it is. All of this is housed inside a historic building with stunning architecture that makes the experience even better. There's all kinds of unfamiliar sounding beers so you aren't going to find cans of Natty Lite or shit like that. Beer of this quality here is pretty cheap. There's a few large bottles for about $2, and these are pretty large. Besides the beer they also have lots of coffee and pop. They have some varieties that you can't find anywhere else like it seems. Among the food is lots and lots of candy. It's about $2 for a good size bag and there's lots to choose from. The ingredients are in different languages but includes English too. It even has a produce section and the fruits and vegetables look fresh. They have a very large deli section. Cool place for getting European food. It can be hard to find because it's hard to see. This is in the shopping plaza that's at the corner of State and Pleasant Valley.

(Phonetic Spelling: k-vahs). Russian kvass is a probiotic-rich, low-alcohol beverage made primarily from rye bread, distinguishing it from other fermented drinks like kombucha and kefir, which use different base ingredients and fermentation processes. Unlike many commercial versions of kvass, traditional kvass retains live cultures and has a unique, complex flavor profile. (I liken it to cold root beer, with a hint of sassafrass tea). The brand we purchase comes in a two liter & has live cultures, so it is refrigerated; it features an Orthodox Papal figure. It is delicious! He usually also purchases various chocolates and candies, as well as small frozen sweets that resemble tiny chocolate dipped waffle cone ice creams. I know minimal Russian, so he usually speaks for us. TBH-I don't think I'd be comfortable going as a non native Russian speaking consumer.
