We also like the pizza and the pepperoni bread. From the deli our favorite is oven roasted turkey and smoked turkey. We aren't Italian, but if you like the Italian deli meats, they have a lot. One customer told me that he likes to take a little meat sausage, some cheese and crackers and have a little snack while he watches TV. Italian comfort food for sure! There are several heat and serve meals in the case across from the deli. Very nice place to stop after visiting the medical centers or the museums.

We were hungry and we were going to take a dive and just get a sandwich or a slice of pizza the gentleman behind the counter ignored us while we stood there. We finally just turned around and left. Used to go to this place all the time when I worked downtown Cleveland and was so very disappointed this time around. You should consider bringing back full service, hot food, and then one of the employees said that you limit the hours that you actually prepare hot food now which is tragic in my opinion There are so many other places to eat downtown Cleveland that are open and serving food throughout their business day that a person does not have to waste their time coming here. I'm sure as long as you're selling liquor and imported cheese you'll probably stay in business, but how disappointing.

I've been going here for over 50 years. Ouch that hurt…read more It IS Cleveland. It represents. The produce is sooooo fresh. Forget Whole Foods, Sprouts, Fresh Market. This beats them all. And by price too. The outdoor stalls are being refurbished, and the section that is complete is just like the historic stalls but much nicer, brand new, clean. Outdoors is the produce. Inside is all the rest - meat, cheese, baked goods, spices, coffee, international foods...the list goes on and on. The ceiling is like an old train station , but purpose built in 1912 to be a bad*ss market. Gorgeous. About 130ish stalls. Cafe/bistro in ine corner, Johnny's hot dog joint in another. Kate's Fish, Peroigi Palace, Frank's Brats, Jim's Meats, Wiencek Poultry, Czuchraj Meats...i could go on... Get a buttermilk at Annemaries - salt and pepper on top is how my Dad did it. That tradition will stay with me forever. Grab a smokie at Czuchraj and stroll the stalls, get your shopping done, or just relax the day away. Pretty good. But you gotta do the work and hit the code and go thru the process. The WSM right now is under construction. So the produce side is smaller and off to the side not the main hall. Then you go out and walk around the sidewalk off Lorain to get to the meat side. Produce side is to the left. Smaller space but they have it organized better. Everyone is selling the same stuff and prices are fairly similar for each stall. But it is brighter and well laid out. I guess you can go by who looks the most trustworthy to who you buy from. Just keep an eye out to what you buy and make sure it's what you get. That was the old market. Hopefully it's better now. TBH I did not buy any veggies or fruit. Meat side is abundant with meat, fish, pastry, sauces, cheese and other vendors. You can find a deal. We got 3 pounds of ground meat for $18. Sunday is an off day some vendors are off so not all the stalls are filled. But more than enough. We also went to Christopher the bread guy for our favorite bread. So good! We got the rustic Italian small loaf and they sliced it. Good sandwiches this week for lunch. But they have a million other options too. This is a nice little treasure and it's worth the time and effort to go here. Grab lunch and hang out on W25th it's fun and worth the visit.

Much bigger than it looks from outside. There's a lot to look through in this small store so take some time. A favorite section is the beer. It all is located in a small refrigerated section. There's all kinds of unfamiliar sounding beers so you aren't going to find cans of Natty Lite or shit like that. Beer of this quality here is pretty cheap. There's a few large bottles for about $2, and these are pretty large. Besides the beer they also have lots of coffee and pop. They have some varieties that you can't find anywhere else like it seems. Among the food is lots and lots of candy. It's about $2 for a good size bag and there's lots to choose from. The ingredients are in different languages but includes English too. It even has a produce section and the fruits and vegetables look fresh. They have a very large deli section. Cool place for getting European food. It can be hard to find because it's hard to see. This is in the shopping plaza that's at the corner of State and Pleasant Valley.

Not only do they have freshly made deli dishes, they carry so much delicious varieties in European cuisine foods. Whether it's in a can, frozen, or fresh, it's all been very good. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I absolutely love this place. I may be biased as a Ukrainian, but I love this food especially when missing being home, this is as close to home cooking that I found. If you're reluctant to come, at least come and try their foods in their deli section. Try the stuffed cabbage rolls, the pilaf with lamb, some cabbage salad. And get a couple slices of varieties of their cakes. You will not be disappointed, it is just so so good!

Yeleseyevsky Deli is my favorite local Russian store. I have been visiting this store for years. I always highly recommend it! Layout/Assortment: The store recently moved to a new, updated location. It is well lit, spacious, tidy, and well organized. The store departments are similar to what you would expect at a grocery store. Dairy, seafood, baked goods, produce, frozen foods, canned goods, prepared foods, vitamins, souvenirs, and wine categories can be found here. This store has more expansive inventory than other similar stores in the area. Products originate from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, and other parts of the world. All products are clearly labeled with the original language and English ingredient lists which makes the shopping experience less intimidating for a newbie. Recommended buys: If you're Russian, you'll be pleasantly surprised and nostalgic about everything. Kvas bread drink in the fridges, Olivie salad in the deli, Alenka chocolate at checkout, Russian greeting cards for every occasion, and the list goes on. If you're looking to explore Russian and European cuisine, I recommend trying Doktorskaya bologna (slightly smokey and flavorful), Belochka chocolate waffle cake (bold chocolate flavor), Ivan Chai (firewood tea with campfire taste), and Siberian pelmeni (so tasty). Feeling more adventurous? Try Birchtree juice, caviar, vodka-filled chocolates, frozen seaberry, Siberian pinecone jam, and oak broom for your next banya (sauna) visit. Service: The service is friendly especially if you're a regular. The store employees are bilingual - Russian and English. The checkout process is very expeditious. Savings: The store offers - "buy more, save more." Your receipt will be stamped with a coupon at checkout when you meet certain purchase threshold. Don't forget to grab free Russian newspapers on the shelves next to the entrance! They contain information about local events and businesses. Parking: Large parking lot is available in the front and the back of the store. Parking is very convenient. This store is suitable for routine grocery shopping and exploring new global foods. It's also a great destination if you're looking for a gift - greeting cards and boxed chocolates available. Or if you're looking to host a tea party - plenty of tasty sweets. I highly recommend visiting this store!
