This is my first time trying Rite Aid for their pharmacy services. I came in with not high expectations, but at least standard expectations. I was let down greatly and rudely. When I arrived there was a short line at the pickup and no line at the drop off. There were three visible employees on staff. I was greeted by a gentleman with the label of pharmacist that I could tell was working on other things but was taking the time to greet me, which I appreciated. It was all down-hill from there. Once greeted the gentleman offered to look two things up for me, one regarding the availability of a new prescription, the other the location of bill boxes. He was unable to perform on either. On the first, he deferred the task to another pharmacist. They played telephone across the counter to ask questions of me, some questions of me he did not hear, so I would respond to and he rolled his eyes at me. I was shocked at this lack of professionalism and respect of my privacy. The gentlemen then decided that he was done helping me and asked me (impolitely) to step aside so he could help the one person that had arrived behind me. I explained that he hadn't completed providing me the information that I had requested. He repeated his "move to the side" remarks. I did. After helping the woman behind me, rather than helping me with either of my previous mentioned needs, he continued with other work. About 5 minutes later, though it felt like 30 minutes or more, the woman pharmacist looked up at me (I felt like there was a scowl, but I will own the fact I might now be adding that) and stated that she could not fill it tonight because she needed to check on it. I explained yes, I wanted to know if you had it so that we could discuss further with the doctor before I request filling. She repeated her sentence again. I said forget it. May I please have the prescription back she said tomorrow, after she speaks with the doctor she will decide whether to fill or return. She then walked away. Truly unreal. And. I still need a new pill box. I will only ever go again tomorrow to get my prescription. Pardon typos, by the end I got tired. read more

I've been there a couple of times there now. Usually there is a hispanic lady and a white lady working the counter. When you enter the store you get a non-enthusiastic monotone "Welcome to Rite Aid". I get better greetings walking into a japanese sushi restaurant. The selection is scarce, keep in mind my father worked for thriftys a long time ago which is the same store except not as efficient and prosperous as it once was. The main reason for the bad review is the service. With two checkout people you still have to wait a long time. The checkers are very nice and patient to the elderly 60-70+ people, but after taking their time with them and it comes to your turn, they have that hurry up and get out attitude. And if you ask them any questions you get the impatient sigh like you're the one holding up the line. I call this reverse discrimination because younger and middle aged people are being treated worse than the elderly in this store, maybe because most of their money is made by the elderly which makes up most of their clientele. Only thing I would come back for is a soda or ice cream, but again you can get soda's cheaper at walmart so why would you? read more

Thrifty ice cream!!! Chocolate malted crunch and mint and chip! Been my favorite since I was a little girl!! Love it!!

Some guy in the beard with the glasses closed the store on my friends at 9:58 when it closes at 10. He was so rude about it too. We just wanted ice cream and he said "no I'm putting it away" seriously I was already in the store trying to get ice cream and he wasn't even there to notice me standing there waiting for ice cream. He was extremely rude and pretty much kicked my friends and I out. read more

My whole family have been going to this Rite Aid for a decade now. I'm here at least once a week for all of our prescriptions and of course, the THRIFTY ice cream deals!! I love that the pharmacists know us by name and all our medications needs. I love that it's always so easy and so familiar. I get texts whenever our meds are ready too. Customer service is always very friendly and helpful. They always greet us when we walk in the store and thanks us on the way out. Very neighborly indeed. read more

There was an instance where the freezers broke apparently and that they had to put out all their frozen foods, but other than that, this Rite Aid is pretty big and they have ice cream! They usually don't have many cashiers working at once, but it usually isn't super crowded. I always come here to get the Thrifty's ice cream! 2 for $6 with the rewards card! There is tons of parking outside in the parking lot. read more

I wanted to write a review because of the customer service. I don't think the staff intends to be rude, but they need some basic training like saying "thank you." I fault the manager for lack of training in the employees. The staff (not including pharmacy staff) is not friendly, more like indifferent. Merchandise seems ok. Worst pharmacy ever!!! Prescriptions are never ready on time, no sense of urgency

Other than the Thrifty Ice Cream, there is no reason to ever walk into this location. The pharmacy provides slow service and the staff seem to be lazy and somewhat rude. I'm not sure why anyone would ever but gift items at a Rite Aid. It looks like their items would fit right in at a flea market. read more

Ice cream is a classic time & during the fall/winter seasons they have decent men's and women's moccasins/loafers for about $10 :)

Went in for ice cream with my granddaughter, made eye contact with both women cashiers and was ignored by both. Waited more than 10 minutes with no help or even any type of acknowledgement. Left after the second cashier left for break. Poor poor service. read more

I was in line for ice cream,there was one person being served. Right before I was next a man with about 5 kids walk in. The kids of course ran in front of me and started asking for samples to taste, the attendant started helping them first. I wasnt mad that he helped them but didn't say anything to me like I m sorry, I'll be right with you, nothing! I was so upset I walked out. Following up the last review, thank goodness the regional manager stepped in through the help of their 800 number and made good on the 200 dollars, the store called and said to stop in and pick up the refund, another story when my wife met the assistant manager John B. he handed her the envelope she asked a simple question and rather than being polite he once again was "RUDE" and said "look inside" and turned and walked away. You would think at this point he could be polite and say thanks for being patient or something nice. This store will never be visited by us again, we'll use another in a different city. Started going here because it was the closest place to my house to buy lipstick. And I've been going here for 10 years. I refill my Rx here. I know practically all the employees. They are super nice. Prices are higher than Wal-Mart but that is to be expected. They have GREAT sales after the holidays. They are always well stocked. It's clean. Thrifty Ice Cream is what they sell at Farrell's and Rite Aid has it for much less, and barely any wait time. If this place ever changes and gets bought out by some mega-chain I will be super super sad. But for now, it's still My Rite Aid and it rocks!! Muah! read more

I'm kind of surprised by the bad reviews of the pharmacy. This has been my go to for years. I always see Brian or Shanna and Linda and Anna. They have been amazing at pharmacy advice and making sure there are no interactions. I can even ask about my vitamins and interactions, it's very helpful. Plus everyone is nice and helpful even when insurance is confusing. I recommend this place for your pharmacy needs. I hope I'm not forgetting anyone, I'll update if I did. This locations pharmacy told me 30 minutes for 2 prescriptions to be done. I've been here an hour! The 3 girl pharmacist ignore me when i go up to the counter. Short staffed. My kids love getting ice cream from there. I actually started going here because that's where I now get my prescription. The lady that helped me was very rude and snobby. I recently received an automated call from my RiteAid store in Brea telling me I had two prescriptions to pick up; these are automatic refills, which is a great service. We have two part D insurers: Silver Scripts and a government secondary payer which covers all co-pays if the medicine is on the DOD formulary. My wife went to pick up the prescriptions and was told that one had a co-pay of $151, and the other a co-pay of $140. She left them there and I went the next day to see if I could get the problem resolved. Helen, one of the very experienced assistants was there and is personally familiar with my meds. She went to the computer, found my file and resubmitted the requests--my prescriptions were ready in less than 10 minutes and no co-pay was required. Helen has helped me in the past and it is so nice to have an expert working your problem. Ive noticed that every time I go to the pharmacy, the employees are rude to the customers to the point that I just have to yelp about it. Its not just once in a while but every time I go with my wife, I get uncomfortable hearing how they talk to people. I finally spoke up when I heard them treat an elderly lady that was in front of us like she was a pos. I can deal with an occasional pharmacist having a bad day but I'm convoked that this place is just miserable. The only reason for 1 star is because the rest of the store is great! read more

The store is very dirty, I went to use the bathroom by the pharmacy and not only was it filthy and the toilet was so disgusting that even if there had been toilet paper i would not have gone in that bathroom. but there was no toilet paper or soap to wash your hands with when I went back out and and mentioned it to one of the pharmacy staff I was directed to tell the person at the front counter, the lady there said there was another bathroom in the back of the store, that one was also dirty and there were no toilet seat covers in that one. The employees showed no sign of caring about anything with the exception of the pharmacy staff who were atleast friendly and smiled. I've been in upper management for many years and all I can say is there are problems on multiple levels at this location. My husband and I have been customers at Rite Aid for many years. We have taken many prescriptions there to be filled and have always received excellent service. Shanna has been a blessing to us many times when we needed help with our medicines. The whole pharmacy staff is very friendly and helpful. I enjoy going to Rite Aid for many other items as well. The store is clean and easy to find what you need. So glad to have it in our neighborhood. read more

Most uncaring pharmacy ever. Not to mention ridiculous liars. I have a foster child who can't function without her monthly prescription of Adderall because her mother abused drugs and alcohol when pregnant with her. Every single time I try to have her prescription filled at the Brea Rite Aid, they give me the same lame answers, "Our system is down and we can't check to see if we have it" or "We don't have this medication right now". Really, they can't check where the medication is stored to see if they have it? The 20 people in line picking up their medication seemed to have no problem. If this only happened once in a while, I would be understanding, but this happens every single time I go in. My family, friends and I will never step foot in another Rite Aid - ever! read more
