I used to go to the CVS (literally across the street from Aspire since they moved to Locust Street) and have never had a problem waiting in line with people buying groceries, toiletries, and birthday cards before getting my prescription and heading home. At CVS 15 minutes is the minimum wait time. My only misgiving about the new pharmacy is that it opens M-F at 9am closes at 6pm (3pm on Thursdays?), closed on the weekend, and also this winter has been closed on a couple heavy snow days. The business hours at the CVS at a bit better (8am-8pm) if you're leaving for work earlier than 9am or coming home later than 6pm. I'm hoping Aspire has longer hours or operation in the future. i can make due with their hours now, just not as easily as with CVS. The prices for the generic drugs I get at Aspire are bout the same as CVS with the prescription drug coverage, so there isn't any major distinction there, but it may also be different pricing for different types of drugs or pharmacy coverage options on health insurance plans. I'd be curious to hear what others have noticed about Rx drug prices in general from pharmacy to pharmacy. I like that Aspire, as a fledgling business and mom-and-pop shop amongst giant national pharmacies (read: CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreen's, etc.), is creating a local drug store that relies on local customers to support it. I like that my local pharmacist running her own business is taking care of University City/West Philly customers and not corporate executives in a distant office who will never see me or get to know me.

Prior to moving into her condo mother spent a year at an assisted living facility to heal up from a badly broken ankle. During this time she got used to having her medication doled out by the staff there. Moving her into her own condo presented a few challenges - simplifying her medication was one of them as the nurses aide service that we contracted with was not able to assist with this due to liability issues. The pharmacy offered to have their assistant place my mother's medications in pill boxes (the four time a day, seven day a week type) which allowed her to easily take the prescribed medication at the correct time and quantity. With my mother's health now deteriorating she recently returned to the walker. She was upset about not being able to carry beverages to her bedside from the kitchen. My brother went down to the Philadelphian Pharmacy where the staff equipped a small basket with two drink holders - how perfect! The also deliver within the building and probably nearby as well. Definitely a great resource for the aging and infirm!

One of these times they billed my insurance (I didn't pick up the prescription), so when I needed the refill I couldn't get it. I had them put a note in my file to not refill anything unless I called it in. Today they called me to tell me that I had two prescriptions to pick up that I never ordered. I am in the process of changing pharmacies due to this issue.

I am in class and have never been so bored in my life; 2. have you been to a chain pharmacy lately? Ugh! Moved to Burlington in 2005 and this pharmacy is about a block from my house so I sent my perscriptions there rather than the Walgreens about a mile down the road. Since then I have had nothing but fantastic service... when I had an issue getting a perscription filled (thanks health insurance company) the pharmacist worked diligently toward getting me what I needed and even provided options to hold me over in the meantime. I trust this guy more than I do my doctor... the pharmacist at least knows my name without looking it up on a chart -- not because I have lots of health issues either. It's just how they operate. On the shop end of the house, things are a little more expensive than a chain store but in the spirit of supporting local business I do stop there for most of my unexpected miscellaneous shopping; like when you're all out of TP at an inopportune moment. Besides, they keep my fairly uncomon cigarettes on hand (something Walgreens laughed at me for asking about) just to be sure they have them for me when I need them.

Called in a prescription late week and spoke to the pharmacist and went to pick the prescription up they had no idea of this being called in, now remember I spoke with the pharmacist. Went on Tuesday for my Covid booster at 5:00 PM and there was not enough staff in the store to get this done. Web site indicates that Tuesday through Friday 2:00 PM to 6 PM. The place and the staff are a mess, not to mention one of the two young ladies behind the counter was super rude. And store was quite empty with no customers or shoppers, I guess I was the last to find out?
