    That's no double scoop!
    Michelle V.

OMG--- BEST LOCATION EVER for a double-scoop of your choice of any ice cream (at that time I got pecan praline and pistacio!). ***(Hmm. As for the pictures I just posted, I did not know the one w/ my face would be the first to view. To be the "face" of Rite-Aid is just too much responsibility! Lol. Is this going to be a problem??? I hope not. O_O'') Anywhoo! So, the last time I went with a friend, either the guy serving us was new, or he was just super generous. Okay, I'm used to double scoops looking barely visible above the top of a cake cone. Now this time, our double scoop literally looked like a quadruple scoop! I wasn't expecting so much ice cream, but hey! For only 1.79 for a double scoop on a cone, a girl can't complain! The only bad part to this story is that my friend, who I dragged over for one my always ice cream runs, was on a specific diet and uttered these horrid words no ice cream conoissuer should ever say: "Omg, I can't believe I'm going to say this, but this is too much ice cream for me!" I look at her in horror. Never. Never should one utter those words! She finished it minus the cone, but I gotta say.... that was a lot of freaking ice cream! Yum yum yum!

One scoop of Cherry Chip with a cake cone. NOM!

Let's be real. We're all here because of their Thrifty Ice Cream. Award-winning ice cream that you can guiltlessly buy to take home to your freezer? Of course! I personally love their Pecan Praline and Cherry Chip flavors. I try not to get flavors that I could get anywhere else, and I especially love the Pecan Praline because I'm a butter-pecan lover but this flavor also has strings of caramel running through it with pecans. I also love the Cherry Chip because it is reminiscent of a normal chocolate-chip, except that it has fresh cherry pieces in it and has a lighter cream flavor! The staff is also always super personable--when you get the good ones--and take their jobs very easily. Thrifty is the way to go. Always. And, better yet, it's SUPER cheap! Guilt-free money well spent.

    Modern pharmacy.

As far as drug stores go- Rite Aid is standard. They have a pharmacy and aisles filled with everything from school supplies to liquor; but what I REALLY want to talk about is their Ice Cream. Thrifty Ice Cream is some of the best on the planet, in case you have been living under a rock and do not know this! The scoops are HUGE, the flavors unique (medieval madness is a must-try), and for a total of 3 bucks for two scoops- you CAN'T go wrong with this absolutely perfect ice cream. This specific Rite Aid itself is pretty modern, clean and well-staffed. Everyone has always been cordial and cheery to me whenever I get a hankering for that Thrifty ice cream. It's not as complex or thick as some of the more gourmet ice cream options in Orange County, but it certainly warrants the four stars I am going to give it.

Clueless but nice ice cream scooper who did not know the difference between waffle. Cake. And sugar cones. She needs practice and training.

This place is right off the trail. Popped in here because my friend from France Pierre said the best cycling recovery drink is Perrier! And it's also my favorite drink! And guess what? They have it here! I got the Perrier Lime. (Wished they still had the lemon one.) But here you have to pay the price for that level of recovery all the way from France on a hot day on the trail in Irvine: $2.63 Worth every penny! I powered it back to my car 8 more miles. They have ample polls to lock up your bike outside and you better do so! There were some suspicious people hanging outside smoking who I later saw pushing shopping carts from Ralphs on the trail. One guy was pushing a bicycle--don't let that be yours. Irvine today is not the Irvine of 10 years ago! Lock up! Anyway on the receipt it says "7-Eleven". But it does not say 7-Eleven on the front. It just says Food Mart. But as long as they have Cold Perrier they can call themselves anything--I don't care. Employees here were friendly and wished me well. It's also a Shell gas station--a brand I do not use.

I made it clear after that I did not want to be touched, and that boundary should not need to be stated at all. I was simply trying to make my purchase and leave, not deal with behavior that crossed professional boundaries. Customer service should be respectful and focused on assisting shoppers, not creating discomfort. After reading other reviews mentioning rudeness, inappropriate behavior, and similar issues, it seems this may be a pattern. Management seriously needs to address staff conduct and training, because this type of behavior is unacceptable in any establishment.

This store does get busy at times, but it's honestly not a huge deal, especially since the self-checkout is very convenient. This location is also on the smaller side compared to other CVS stores I've been to. What I genuinely appreciate most, though, is the customer service here, which is why this has become my go-to CVS location.
