Since changing ownership theyve gradually scaled back how much convenience items they stock vs alcohol. The store does not look like photos from the review 4 months prior anymore :( The store is now 90% alcohol and specialty drinks. one small shelf in the back is convenience items. I love love love this market! Aside from it being walking distance from where I live and tan by the cutest Korean family, they also have the BEST snacks!!!! So many Asian snacks, pre-made deli foods, and freshly cut fruit! They also have coffee and hot foods made to order. You can even call the orders in so they'll be ready when you get there. I recommend their spam masubi. Recently they've stocked a decent variety CBD teas, which have been so refreshing. They also have tons of alcohol (Lol) including cut waters, wine, beer, seltzers, you name it. I always stop by on my way back from a run. Frank and his family own and run the market. They are the perfect reminder of why we should support local small business. They are very pleasant and go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family. They have the essentials but they also make very good food fresh to order. Where should I even start? This place is the most legit neighborhood go to! It's a small gem hidden between Avenue one and Watermarke and they literally have anything you can think of. My babe and I love coming here on Friday nights because they have awesome wine and beer tasting events for only $10 a person. By the time I leave the tasting I am already feeling pretty good! One of the owner's, Mark, is seriously one of the most amazing person you'll ever meet. He literally makes sure that you are well taken care of when you're at his events and the customer service is just simply impeccable. So if you want to pregame before going out this is the place to go. Also, I was craving for some poke the other day, but I was too lazy to go out to a restaurant so I went downstairs to this place and guess what I got? A SPICY TUNA DONBURI. Now you might think that it's weird to buy sushi in a neighborhood supermarket but it was so fresh and it tastes just like the spicy tuna don from the Japanese restaurant that was here before. Talk about quality food here. If I were the owner I'd bring out the chalk board and write down SPICY TUNA BOWLS/KOREAN KALBI BOWLS during lunch time and leave it right outside of the store during the week. That way, more people can know how epic these bowls are!!! But if sushi bowls can't convince you. Just go to hang out with Mark, because he's friggin awesome. read more

For students living in Villa Siena and Toscana Apartments who don't have a car this place is perfect to buy alcoholic beverages since the "closest" big supermarket that sell alcohol is Ralphs which is not easily reachable using just your feet. Too bad I didn't discover it sooner. It's like the luxury version of a convenience store. And convenient it is, for sure. But also "luxurious" and for that prices are definitely high. And it's not surprising considering that it's located under the super fancy condo "The Plaza". But I definitely feel they should cater more towards students since it seems unlikely to me that the Maserati-driving people living in The Plaza are going to buy snacks to satisfy their munchies here. read more

I was dropping by a clients condo and noticed the Village Market on the way to the covered parking. What a surprise!!! Walter was so wonderful. He made me a freshly roasted beef with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto and cheese grilled sandwich. It was the best sandwich I have had in ages. He suggested a moche latte. They serve illy coffee. What a perfect coffee! I live in Westpark and I'm going back tomorrow morning to get another latte. What a find. read more

I highly recommend Villa Market for groceries. With Coronavirus, we've been trying to schedule grocery delivery from amazon fresh, Ralphs, etc with no delivery times available. Tonight we walked down to Villa Market hoping to grab some milk, and we walked away with milk, cheese, fresh fruit, bread, canned goods, frozen items, cookie dough, and plenty of snacks! The owner is doing a great job on replenishing items and expanding the selection. The prices are reasonable, and didn't feel it was any more expensive than had we gone with delivery -plus it's nice to pick out your own items. We will definitely be back when we run out, and I loved being able to support a family-owned, local business. read more

Came in for a salad. I was not in the mood for the prepackaged salads. I asked them if i can get a garden salad. My husband and I checked out this place for breakfast. After we ordered our food and drinks, the owner was reprimanding one of his employees about what free stuff she was giving us (extra cream and sugar) and kept asking the other employee what she was making for us (waffles) as if he was worried she was going to give that away for free, too. He was constantly looking over their shoulders as my husband stood watching him. He was so rude and mean to his employees and it made us uncomfortable to hear him so worried about giving away extra cream and sugar. On top of that our waffles were undone and runny, the panini sandwich was really oily and bland, and the coffee tasted like water. The price was also outrageous for such terrible service from the owner and the quality of the food. We will not return. read more
