Honestly, the only people who come here just to complain tend to be difficult customers. This is a very busy store, especially with East Los Angeles College nearby and being on a major intersection. There's constant traffic, and unfortunately, a lot of theft--so yes, they limit what's out on the floor for a reason. Staff also deal with people coming in yelling or even being aggressive, which most customers don't see. If you had to wait 10-15 minutes, it's honestly not unreasonable. This isn't a drive-thru. A little patience goes a long way. That said, it's actually a good store with loyal, hardworking staff who do their best. The store is clean, well-stocked, and self-checkouts are almost always open. Most of the time, you're greeted when you walk in or at least see staff available. The makeup department specially Ileni & Connie are so nice. This store is consistently being stocked, and someone usually helps you within a few minutes. They'll explain sales and how to use your CVS ExtraCare card, and they're genuinely willing to help you shop if you ask. The photo department works mainly through the CVS Pharmacy app--if you use it correctly, your order is usually smooth. If not, that's more of a user error situation. Food items are always available, and I've never seen anything expired or questionable in the fridge. As for the pharmacy--understand they are extremely busy, especially with a hospital just minutes away. It's a 24-hour CVS Pharmacy location, so yes, expect lines and sometimes a tired or direct pharmacist--they're working around the clock. Bottom line: this is not your average CVS. It's high-volume, high-demand, and the staff are doing the best they can under pressure. read more

No line and the service from the caller was surprisly chipper. When I arrived my prescriptions were not ready. Needed a lil more time so I walked the store. Amber was very sweet and professional. I go because I drive by daily. The store is in a beautiful historical building. This building should be used for something else. Staff is friendly. I appreciate that there is nothing locked up behind locks. Pharmacist is super nice and friendly. The shelves could be much more organized. The floor is carpet and there's always trash on it. I came here early in the morning, so it was easy to find a parking space. I was told before that if you don't shop in those stores but park in that lot, your car will be towed (even if you go to McDonalds to get an order or even the bank). I was surprised to see the Hairitage brand shampoo products because I haven't seen that in other locations, so that was a nice surprise. There was two self-checkout machines. On February 9, 2026, between approximately 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM, I was working as a DoorDash driver and received a shop-and-deliver order at the CVS location in Monterey Park. Earlier that day, I had completed three orders at the same store without any issues. When I arrived for this order, there were no shopping carts or baskets available. Because the order contained multiple items that I could not carry by hand, I asked the cashier if I could use a store bag to place the items while shopping. The cashier approved my request. I also confirmed with another employee who was stocking shelves, and she also stated that it was fine to use the bag. After I had located all items except one, I approached the store manager for assistance. At that point, the manager confronted me in a hostile manner and questioned why I was using the bag and what I was placing inside it. I calmly explained that her employees had given me permission to use the bag while shopping for a DoorDash order. Despite this explanation, the manager forcibly pulled the bag out of my hand. One of her employees confirmed to the manager that she had given me permission, but the manager still instructed me to leave the store. I believe this situation was handled in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner. I would like this incident reviewed and addressed accordingly. I was recently transferred to CVS, from my previous pharmacy. I was told my doctors office had not send in the prescription inf by Jon. I called my doctors office a bit bothered and they spoke to Jon saying CVS had on their system that the patient had already picked up the medicine. The medicine is for my son, and as the adult being his mom I was not happy. I had them call the insurance company to fix the problem or else the insurance wouldn't cover my son's medication. Jon Lin, one of the pharmacist at the location has the most cocky, arrogant attitude I have ever encountered. I was not picking up medicine for myself and not familiar with what the specific medicine was for. Rather than explaining it, Lin said I should confer with the person prior to coming in. Without further personal detail, I have picked up this medicine for several years with no concerns. Lin displayed an unprofessional attitude as he's above it all and clearly makes no mistakes. When I told him he had poor customer service skills all he said was you'll be the first to accuse me of that. (That I find hard to believe) Several times he stated what's your question as if to belittle the customer. I find his demeanor to be very cocky and arrogant. The question is, why can't you handle this matter more courteously, who's your manager and what is your last name. read more

I usually get my prescription meds sent to this location and it has been convenient so far. I recommend calling the pharmacy ahead to make sure the prescription was filled since there was one time when it was unavailable until the next day had I not called in to double check. Aside from that, I usually stop by here to use my CVS Extra Bucks on bay diapers which can really add up in savings. Pharmacy I was helped by Ana today and was very satisfied with the service she provided. She was polite, welcoming, respectful, and made sure that all my questions were answered. She went above and beyond by making sure I knew what the papers and screens read when I picked up my medication, catering to my visual disability. Most significantly and admirably, she corrected an internal error that could have led to me taking the wrong medication home (one with a similar name). Her superior attention to detail prevented any potential damage to my health. In sum, I am beyond grateful for Ana's service. Every business needs more employees like her. Thank you! read more

I wanted to post this review as soon as I received my first shot of the Covid vaccination. This is just a heads up. I was able to make appointments for 3 senior citizens at CVS. I had the medical insurance information for 2 of the 3 people. The 2 people had a shorter process when we arrived CVS on the day of the appointment. The third person had to go to the pharmacy to provide CVS with their medical insurance information. I had a difficult time finding an appointment using the government sites for the Covid vaccination. After trying different sites, there was finally one site that had numerous appointments available. I should have just gone directly to https://www.cvs.com/vaccine/intake/store/eligibility-screener/eligibility-qns to confirm my eligibility. Once our eligibility was confirmed, I answered a few questions. It then proceeded to scheduling an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised that they had numerous dates and times available. Finally, a site that was not fully booked. I was able to schedule an appointment within a week for our first dose. The site also provided me dates and times for our second dose. After scheduling my appointment, I received a text confirming my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I received a text with a link in which I was asked to check in that I had arrived 15 minutes before my appointment. I was not able to check in until it was exactly 15 minutes before my appointment. The line for the Covid vaccination starts within the entrance of the store in which 3 people that are 6 feet apart can stand in line. Everyone else had to fall in line outside of the store. I'm assuming it is because there were 3 people per time slot? Two of us only had to show them our ID, since they had our insurance information that was entered when I scheduled our appointments. The third person had to fall into another line at the pharmacy drop off at isle 17(?). She had to show them her insurance card and ID. After checking in, they provided us with a Covid-19 vaccination record card. The front of the card had the date, product name, manufacturer, lot number, healthcare clinic site and date of the vaccination. The back of the card had the date and time reminder of the second dose. We then followed the arrows on the floor to the location where someone asked for our Covid-19 vaccination record card. We then waited to be vaccinated. Afterwards, we sat within the area for 15 minutes. We were finished with the whole process within 45 minutes. read more

I stopped in for some items and when I walked into the self checkout and cashier area, it reaked! The disgusting stench of I don't know what it could have been urine. It was so strong and penetrating that it almost made me puke. I wanted to run out as fast as I could. I could not wait to get out of that store. I didn't want to touch anything I don't know how the employees work there, no wonder their wearing masks. It's truly a health and environmental hazard to be breathing that as a customer and for employees. No way will I be returning to that store. The odor needs to be addressed immediately. This is the go-to CVS. It's open 24hrs. Employees are helpful. I've never had a bad experience here. I can say I've had a bit of unpleasant ones but I get it. People have probably stole so much from this store that you just never know who is capable of doing such. With that being said.... This is a great CVS, just wish it was a bit closer. I usually go to the CVS near my house but they seem to never have my prescription and this CVS always has it. So after transferring the prescription back to my CVS and learning that after months, it still wasn't available, I decided to just give in and come to this one. Well I now remember why I pulled my prescriptions and went elsewhere. Been under the weather all week. Went to urgent care, got a much needed antibiotic, cough syrup and inhaler. Dropped off at 6pm. Was told it would be 1-1/2-2 hrs. Ok. They're super busy. 'We will call you the instant it's ready' was a quote. Great. Let's fast forward to 850pm. No call. Great. I call and after 15 minutes on hold I get a 'ready'. Great but why no call? It might and probably was ready 1-1/2 hrs earlier. With medicine in my system already, me fast asleep. I just had the worst customer service at the CVS that I most frequently shop at. I walked in on March 26 at 11:48 PM and after shopping for my goods I went to pay for everything I gave the cashier LAO my $9 dollar extrabucks (which acts as NINE actual dollars) but he would not honor it because it had expired on march 26 at this time it was 12:01 AM on March 27 so because of two minutes I could not get my earned rewards. I have honestly never met anyone who was properly trained to work in any type of established business, who could not see the stupidity behind not taking my coupon only two minutes after its expiration date. When asked to speak to the manager I was told there was no one on duty until the morning shift, so now I will be inconvenienced to speak to someone tomorrow about the matter. read more

The pharmacy says the are open 24 hours, however when the doctor called in the prescription and we arrived in 20 minutes at 1AM, the pharmacy was closed because the pharmacist was on his lunch break and will not come back for another hour! Two issues: First one was that I submitted a script and I was told that only 2 of the three meds were available. My option was to take the script with me or he would order the third med. no guarantee it would be delivered today and there are no deliveries on Saturday. I asked if another cvs had it and he said I don't know. Didn't offer any advice on how to source the med for my 4 year old that really needed it. Second issue when picking up the meds I asked if she could release what she just told me her response was just read the label. I dealt with two different individuals and I think they were both unprofessional. Crappy vibe from them overall. I found the third medication I needed down the street at the other cvs but I drove over there to find out myself and the very friendly girl that helped there said they could of called her to check if she had it. I imagine that's a courtesy call and not policy but a little effort would of been greatly appreciated. read more

The pharmacy department does not know the eligibility rules for the omicron vaccine. I made an appointment and was cleared to receive the vaccine, but when I gave the clerk, Ms. Yoo, my vaccine card, she said I was not eligible because I had already received a 2nd booster shot, albeit over 5 months ago (I'm over 60). My wife and other seniors had no problem getting their omicron shots at other CVS locations the past few days, and I informed the clerk of this, but she stubbornly stuck to her story that the current omicron vaccine equates to the 2nd COVID booster, and those who already received a 2nd booster are not eligible for the omicron vaccine. I ended up getting the omicron shot at a different CVS where they understand the eligibility rules. I also called the hotline at vaccines.gov, and they verified that this MPK CVS was wrong to deny me the latest vaccine. I'm giving 2 stars because this is my first bad encounter with this store. I've used this location 2-3 dozen times in the last 30 years, and before today it's been pretty routine. It's just frustrating having my time wasted by a stubborn clerk who doesn't know what she's talking about. read more
