The produce section is a joke--rotten produce is everywhere, and gnats are crawling all over the place. It's a nightmare to find fresh meat that hasn't expired the day before. And here's the kicker: despite the pictures showing no registers open on a Sunday morning at 8:30 am. It's all self-checkout, and the line is so long that it's impossible to scan items without the register sending an alert. I had a full cart, and it was a nightmare trying to scan each item individually without an employee to assist me. Meanwhile you have 25+ employees around the store fulfilling online pickup orders, two employees filling the lottery machine, and no one in customer service. How do you operate a grocery store with checkout lanes closed on the busiest day of the week on a Sunday at 8:30am? I ended up going to ShopRite down the road because Giant either didn't have the item I was looking for or the product was expired. To my surprise, ShopRite had five registers open, and the produce looked much fresher. Plus, the items I was looking for were not expired.
