I tried get alterations to sleeves on overcoat and was basically shooed out the door and told to make an appointment. This was after showing up three times prior with the coat expecting someone to be there based on their posted hours, only to find the place closed. This happened on THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. Despite the posted hours, It's kind of a crapshoot as to if/when this place will actually be open for business. You can drop off dry cleaning at the kiosk anytime, but getting alterations or anything where you need to speak with someone is a whole ordeal which apparently needs to be carefully scheduled. I ended up just going to a place called Alberts instead -- who took care of me right away. It took less time to walk in, explain what I wanted, get measured and hand off the coat at Albert's than it did to just show up wait around and then be scolded by the woman at A&M. This place seems to have a good reputation for quality work based on word of mouth recommendations, however because of the way this place is run, it makes of very difficult to use their services.

I was surprised when dropping my garment off Saturday that it wouldn't be ready until Monday--inconvenient but okay, its all about what time you drop it off. Staff was polite. I didnt know until after work Monday evening that they didnt even dry clean my garment because they didnt notify me until Monday morning and they only texted me instead of calling me (and I couldnt hear the text) to say they needed my approval to use a cleaner on my dress due to the type of garment and that I needed to give approval not to hold them liable if they ruin it. I did not want my dress ruined so I called and said I didnt give permission and would be picking my garment up. When I asked why they didnt just tell me this when I dropped the garment off, the worker said the owner made this decision. So because staff couldnt determine this on their own, my time was wasted with nothing done and I had to work on the dress myself to remove the stain. This business may be fine if you dont need your garment right away and if you are dry cleaning garments that dont warrant them telling you 1-2 days later that they want your permission not to be held liable for cleaning it due it possibly becoming damaged. My dad happened to go to the same company at a different location and also had a negative experience. He is 85 years old and the pick up was automated and there was no worker there. He had a difficult time and had to ask for help from another customer. Bad business not to have staff there and expect your customers to use the automated system. Not everyone is tech savvy, especially some older customers. I may have had difficulty too if it had happened to me.

He told me it was too late, but if they hadn't finished the last load, they may be able to help me. He told me to ask for Joey, the store manager. I did that, and Joey told me to be there before 5:00 to pick it up. I have used D.O. Summers for many years, sometimes using their free pick-up and delivery service, and sometimes using same day. Instead of same day being an extra charge add-on, like some cleaners, that is their standard service. It's a great help...but be sure to go to their website and get their coupons! :)

I clearly explained how I needed them to fit and even told them ahead of time that if extra fabric needed to be added, I was completely okay with that. Unfortunately, it felt like my concerns were ignored. When I got the items back, they still did not fit properly at all, which completely defeated the purpose of paying for alterations in the first place. For the amount I paid -- especially with the added rush fee -- I expected much better communication, attention to detail, and results. I understand alterations can be difficult, but I would have appreciated honesty if the changes couldn't realistically be done the way I asked. Overall, this was a frustrating experience and I don't feel like my requests were listened to.
