Dr. Huang is a meticulous compassionate dentist with great qualifications and a pleasant, efficient office. Even when she has to deliver bad news (like I had after being told I need two front teeth removed, implanted and replaced) she carefully explains the procedure and informs you of any available options. Her hygienist, Lena, is also a pro and very friendly. And the office manager, Amy, could not be more pleasant. I hate going to the dentist but can not think of a better way to mitigate the discomfort that with Dr. Huang and her staff. read more

I saw her on 2020, I've stopped seeing her but I'll never forget how she ruined my teeth. She took out all my fillings and replaced them. Afterwards I told her my bite was off and she shaved some down. It still didn't feel right. I had to go back because of discomfort bite. She still couldn't file it down further. Then charge my insurance with "tooth pain". My husband saw her too and she wanted to take all his fillings out too, do a deep gum cleaning and get him a mouth guard, all from one visit! No other dentist before or after said that to him. I asked for my X-ray to be sent over to new dentist. The X-Rays she sent were horrible, blurry, etc. my new dentist had to take new ones (he didn't charge for the X-rays.) That uncomfortable bite, he fixed it in 10 seconds and didn't charge me. Of the fillings she replaced many were damaged. She drilled so close to the nerve on some that they had to have root canal treatment. Did she do this on purpose to do the root canal herself, plus crowns, so she can get more money or was it bad work? All in all, I had a very bad experience, had to switch dentists and spend $1000s to fix the work she did and had increased pain. read more

When my dentist retired, I tried this group practice. In my initial visit, I was told I needed a deep cleaning (similar to other reviews here) and that I had bone loss. Also, that I needed to spend a lot of money on a mouth guard because I grind my teeth (I don't grind my teeth). I was shocked, I never needed a deep cleaning in the past and was never told I had bone loss. I went through with the cleaning (it was very painful and my gums were not the same for several weeks). The cleaning wasn't covered by my insurance because the pockets weren't "deep enough." I also needed a few fillings. I have had fillings in the past and never before was I in so much pain for days after the fillings. My gut kept telling me something was off about this practice and the treatment I was receiving. And I thought it was strange that the waiting room was always empty. I didn't go back, but went to a new dentist to make sure my gums were ok. The new dentist said I never actually needed the deep clean, that I have 0 bone loss, and she also had to remove my filings and redo them because they did such a horrible job with the cavities. One filling was even missing the bonding part and would come out when I flossed. I wish I carefully read the reviews before trying Ritten House Dental. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE. read more

Let's get something straight- Dr. Huang is a great dentist, but her office and how it's ran is absolute garbage. I went here for 2 years and got regular cleanings and cavities filled with minimal physical pain. The reason why I am no longer returning here is because of the awful office. I've had my bill messed up by having the wrong insurance billed, I've had an appointment cancelled on me less than 12 hours before without the opportunity to see the dentist again for another 2 weeks and just recently, after confirming via text and email that I was attending an appointment one Friday at 8AM, I get a text right after confirming that they are no longer open on Fridays. I thought 'Wow, this must be a new change if I was just advised of this 20 hours in advance!' NOPE! The office hasn't been open on Fridays "since the beginning of the year," yet nobody at the office felt the need to tell me or bother rescheduling me UNTIL I CALLED MYSELF. Really disappointing service from this office. I don't have the flexibility at my current position to jump through hoops to accommodate their scheduling headaches. Dr. Huang is amazing. Thanks to my weak enamel and general predisposition for cavities, I have seen several different dentists and practices over the years. She is hands down the best I have been to. She is extremely clear and informative when explaining issues and a course of action. She also very kind and gentle- I have a terrible fear of needles and I didn't feel a thing when she administered. I finally got dental coverage (YAY! THANKS OBAMA!!!) and did enough research to decide this would be the place for me. I made a late appointment (5:15 on a Wednesday) and arrived around 10 minutes late. I really should have anticipated how torturous it would be to park during rush hour in Center City. The office is impeccably clean and bright. And sidenote: from the 28th floor, the view(s) are quite breathtaking. Anyways, this being the first time at this dentist and my first exam in a year, they took a full 18 x-rays. The x-ray technician (sorry, I forgot your name) was really, really awesome. She was personable, gentle, and patient. After the x-rays, Dr. Modesto came in and was with me for about......6 minutes. Probably my largest issue with this office. I understand it was late in the day, but as a first-time patient I thought she could have been slightly more friendly. Although, Dr. Modesto ultimately called me personally days later to touch base with me regarding her recommended courses of action. The hygienist, Boomi I think was her name, was both gentle and thorough. My teeth felt so good when she was done with them. She also spoke to me with professional but delicate concern. I trust her. I have to go back for some follow-up procedures and I'm sure the work will be perfect. The staff here is comprised of really personable and patient people. They sat with me at the end of the day answering every question I had about my shitty dental HMO (THANKS OBAMA!!!). I like them all. Oh, and just a couple finishing touches: they communicate with you via text which I REALLY enjoy because I can't just be on my cell phone all day. Yes, they send you a text reminder but they also directly communicate and respond to you via text. AND, they sent me the new patient paperwork via email prior to the appointment so I didn't have to go through it when I got to the office. Solid dentistry practice. I am not happy with the service of this dental group. Dr. Huang feels like more of a hustler than a dentist. She talked me into doing fluoride treatment on my first visit and told me it might be covered by my insurance. I never received a bill. Six months later i go back and she persuades me to get the fluoride again. Then after she gives it to me she tells me that adults aren't covered and that I would have to pay $50 for the previous treatment and another $50 for today's. Why did she wait until after I got the treatment to tell me this? If its not the fluoride, its something else. She tried to push invisaline on me every visit (several thousand dollars), even though my teeth are mostly straight. Then when I said no to the invisiline, it was time for her to push teeth whitening on me. She managed to talk me into getting whitening done, even though my teeth are pretty white. I get out of bed early on a Saturday morning and show up for my whitening appointment. In my haste to make it on time I forgot my wallet, which is my fault. However, Dr. Huang refused to bill me for the $100 procedure even though I have been a patient of hers for over a year. Also, she didn't bill me for the $50 fluoride treatment earlier, but I guess $100 is just too much of a risk? So, she sent me home. She seems like a nice and intelligent person, but her business ethics need improvement. I am tired of being let down by her business. Time to find a new dentist that actually cares about my teeth. read more

I've tried about three different dental offices in the city and this is my favorite by far! Dr. Huang and everyone that works in the office are great. Appointments are easily scheduled, and the staff are very responsive with questions regarding insurance, cost, etc. Cleanings are thorough and if you happen to need further work done, Dr. Huang clearly and thoroughly explains why she thinks this would be the best course of treatment. I found this group because they accept my Delta Dental PPO plan. Convenient, easy to find location, they text message you with a reminder for the appointment, and it was easy to schedule my annual exam. I haven't seen a dentist in two years (aka was quite excited to have dental insurance again) so I was anticipating that this would be a painful cleaning followed by a lecture. Not the case. The tech did my x-rays, the doctor then came in and reviewed them and did my cleaning himself, and that was that. Definitely a big bonus in my book when the dentist is the one cleaning my teeth. I found this place on Google. I was looking for snap on smile. When I went in for the consultation everyone was so nice and did not pressure me into making a choice that day. I went through with the snap on smile and I am so happy and pleased with it. I felt very comfortable and the dentist explained everything to me before she did anything and explained what she was doing First. Also I did not have to Pay for it all on the first day, it was broken up into payments each time I came into the office (2 visits ) which made things a lot easier. I read a lot of good reviews about her so I decided to give it a try. I was there for a regular cleaning and a teeth whitening. The dental office is very clean and pleasant. Dr. Huang was patient and friendly during the whole process. Her staff was also patiently explaining every procedure about "Zoom" teeth whitening. One hour later, I couldn't believe my yellow teeth for the past 60 years turned shinny white! Although insurance didn't cover teeth whitening, but it is so worthy of it!! I have had a bad history with dentists and when I say bad history I mean I've had a lot of bad dentists. From overcharging me for office visits to shitty bedside manner to a dentist personally calling me on my cell phone to tell me to pay up the $100 bill my insurance company messed up on. One schmuck told me I should get Botox because I told him my smile is a little crooked. I can't make this stuff up people and the sad part is they were all Rittenhouse "bougie" dentists. To make a long story short I was referred to Dr. Modesto by one of my friends. She was great because she is really nice AND knows her stuff. Apparently I had a cavity under a filling that needs immediate attention and the last dentist I had never even mentioned it. Thank goodness I decided to go to her.. I just moved to Philadelphia and was looking for a dentist with good reviews, flexible hours and ease of scheduling. Dr. Huang did not disappoint! Her office was located within walking distance to my apartment, the facilities were clean and well managed.
