Where do I even begin! Tracy is a rare find. She is the type of hairdresser that goes above and beyond. From my very first appointment 6 years ago to now she has been giving me life. Everytime I go see her its like I get renewed. She listens to me and somehow manages to understand my explanation of what I want and make it a reality. I can honestly tell you she has nailed everything from Ombre (when that was in) to trims with me. She even bleached my entire (past the armpit hair) head once without damaging it. Which is insane. Most recently I went in for a trim and came out like a new me. My confidence skyrocketed. She gave me a gorgeous trim. She kept the length I asked for and thinned it out which left me with beautiful but effortless hair. Ive never really been great with styling so shes always helped me with cuts that make me look like I tried without trying. After my cut this time I mentioned that I really wanted to step up my game. Her hair always looks amazing and I mentioned I wish I knew how to soft wave curl it and I kid you not as if the most natural thing in the world genuinely was like want me to show you? I was like yes!!! Tracy is the kind of hairdresser who soon becomes more of a friend. I adore this salon and Tracy, the owner. Ever since I moved here last November, it's the only salon I go to and plan to go to. I appreciate how private the salon is. It's nestled amongst the redwoods, quiet, and appointments are scheduled with one on one attention in mind. The entire salon is vegan and cruelty free! It's inspiring! There's free tea/coffee in the waiting area, and the decor is unique. I enjoy looking at all of the art. The first time I went to Ritual Hair Studio, I had a major color correction (vivid red to dark brunette). It sounds a lot easier than it is. My hair had been processed for two years and I wanted to return to my natural color without damaging it further. Tracy helped me to do this while staying in my budget to achieve the highest quality hair care at the same time. The last time I went, I got a dye and my extensions cut in. Tracy was very patient and friendly and helped me to feel confident in clipping in and styling my extensions myself. It's always nice to have a stylist make your hair look great, but it's empowering to have someone teach you how to make your hair look great once you get home too. Tracy is adorable, kind, and one of my new favorite people. I recommend this place to everyone in the area. Now, my room mate goes here too and she's equally excited about it. First off, the drive to Ritual is so nice and serene. Its nice to be away from strip malls and big city traffic. I was provided with detailed directions a day before my appointment which were very helpful. There is lots of parking. The salon is very cute and unique, as is Tracy, the salon owner! She is the nicest person I've met in this town. She offered me drink options and made sure I was comfortable! She was able to take my frumpy grown out hair/dead ends and refresh my whole look. I needed major TLC. I had it colored, had my dead ends cut off, and she gave me lots of texture and layers. I also got bangs, which I haven't had for a verrrrryyyy long time. I love my new look! She has a lot of hair knowledge - you'll be in good hands if you go to her. Pricing was spectacular and I will definitely be back soon. So grateful to have her in my town. I have worked with Tracy, hair artist and owner, for three salons. This is my favorite. Her place was just completed and was very well done. Spacious and clean. Modern and well decorated. Tracy is without any doubt the best at color in Santa Cruz County. I REALLY appreciated her taking the time to understand what I wanted, she does not rush. Some times you feel stylists pushing you into then out of the chair to turn them over. Anyway,I have had color a few times and she is a true artist. When Jimmy B needs to look fresh, there is the only spot on my list. Tracy at Ritual Hair Studio can do anything (cut, color, style) and above all else she listens to what her clients want. Sometimes a stylist might have the skills but it doesn't match with the ability to get you where you want to go, not the case here! Tracy is always welcoming, the prices are more than fair, the studio is professional but cozy with a great atmosphere. First off, it is SOOO NICE to go to a private salon where it's just you and the stylist! She had a variety of drinks and a candy bowl set up at the front- very welcoming. It really does feel like a therapy session, very calm and relaxing. Tracy has done fantastic hair cuts and color for me. I went to a hairdresser from hell, she literally fried my hair and the color was something from a horror flick. I needed to get my hair fixed and didn't know where to go.
