Go to Town and Gown, Black Sparrow, Red Seven, anywhere else. Four years ago this was a surprisingly downtown gem, exquisite top notch cocktail craft, fantastic menu and crafted food nibbles, a must do for this city starved for fancy fare. Yet this past year I fear I have to rewrite my review given the poor service and awful drinks taking over. Us four guys recently waited for ages, received expensive yet watery mixes without any balance or good flavors not even worthy of an Applebee's. We have been here several times (either sitting at the bar or just standing) and have always had good service. I definitely wish the space was larger to accommodate more guests. The drinks are a little pricey but they are made well and the atmosphere is a bonus. They offer a limited menu with tasty items like beef tallow fries and spinach dip (different menu between day time and late night). Best place for cocktails anywhere in Tippecanoe County! Staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about their drinks. It doesn't matter which mixologist makes your drink, it will taste the same every time. Decor is really cute and quirky. Their small plates are really good too. We've tried almost all of them and haven't had one we didn't enjoy yet. Loose one star for size. In nice weather they do set up an outside area for additional seating, but inside there is space for just a small crowd. read more

I missed reviewing my second visit, but now I'm on my third. I'm steadily working my way through the cocktail and small plates menus. So far, nothing I've eaten here is bad. Fried short rib ravioli- I never thought I would want a fried ravioli. Beyond the initial delicious crunch lies a burst of flavor from the inside accompanied by the bright, yet soft flavors of the tomato basil sauce. It's the comfort food you didn't know you needed. Absolutely phenomenal. Shrimp Tempura- fried to perfection. Don't forget the sauce. The shrimp was so good I had eaten almost the entire portion before I remembered there was a dipping sauce which is not to be missed! I appreciate the airiness and crunch of the batter which isn't so heavy that it detracts from the shrimp overall. Beef Satay- this is a deceptively delicious item on the menu. That bourbon peppercorn sauce makes an already delectable food that much more amazing. As for drinks, the Espresso Martini, Iced Carajillo, Bonfire, and Tiramisu all represent cocktails that are too good to be safe. Ritual is a one of a kind place in downtown Lafayette. It gives off Madmen & jazz club vibes. It is a very small place, but it gives it an intimate feel. They have classic cocktails and their speciality cocktail menu changes monthly. I enjoy going to Ritual for an after work drink and then going to grab dinner at a restaurant nearby or going for a dessert drink after my meal. And they are picture perfect! I haven't had the chance to try their small menu yet but it looks amazing. And I look forward to checking Rat Pack Tuesdays...sounds like a total vibe! I went to one of their post-brunch Sunday DJ events. It was fun. I only wish the DJ would have read the crowd better. That particular day, the majority of the customers were in their 40's-50's and he was playing current EDM. He would have been a huge hit had he played some more era-appropriate music for the crowd. This place is the best cocktail bar in the Lafayette area. There is nothing better for refreshing cocktails. I tried the blueberry mojito, aperol spritz, and some sort of strawberry cocktail, all were amazing! I've been to Italy and the spritz was comparable. I'll definitely come back when I am back in town. The atmosphere is also fun, not too loud, and has large TVs for sports at the bar. Love this place! read more

A good date night or girls night drink spot. It's a small intimate space so groups under 5 work the best there. Had to wait a little while for a table to clear out, but we got an outside booth which was fun. They are a little understaffed so it does take a while to get drinks, but the drinks are phenomenal and worth the wait. This place is beautifully decorated. They have a great cocktail menu and some unique ingredients. Prices are what you'd expect for higher end cocktails, we had four drinks and it was $38. Bartenders only wore masks 50% of the time. They constantly were pulled underneath their chin. The disappointing part of this place is the lack of accessibility. It's brand new and they could have done really great things to make it accessible to all...but they didn't. They have a slight ramp into the bar but it runs right into a table so there is no turning radius for a wheelchair if someone is seated at the first table. Their seating allows a wheelchair to pull up effectively in only one place and the table height doesn't match a typical wheelchair height. The bar has no accessible seating. The bathroom sink, soap, and towels are so high that no one with limited mobility would be able to reach. The door handle in/out of the bathroom is much higher than a typical handle. I'm sure these things are legal and pass code...but this place is not accessible for all. read more

Tried to get him to understand that he just ruined my ID and that he could contact the police and it would be proven real, but he was clearly having too much fun in thinking he just caught a fake ID and he kicked me out of the bar.
