As a wee child and teenager, it was the location of choice to celebrate birthdays and holidays. As a college-aged adult in training, it was the place to meet up with friends, share some drinks, and watch Jerry dance on top of the bar. Even now, as a married man in his thirties, living a ten-hour drive away, I make it a goal to enjoy Nine Irish Brothers once per year at the very least. When my childhood best friend of eighteen straight years passed away, this location marked the final stop in the bar crawl that was held in his honor. When another friend had bravely "come out" only to be to rejected by some of his religious friends, Nine Irish was the place where my wife and I were able to sit down with him over some Guinness and goat cheese fritters and show him how much we love him. The food and drinks are fantastic, and the memories are forever. Whether you've lived in Lafayette/West Lafayette all your life, you're new to the area, or you're just passing through, I cannot recommend this pub enough--no matter your age. The corned beef was very tender, piled high, and insatiable. I could have used more 1000 Island though. I would love to come back especially for a Reuben and pub chips.
