My lashes last up to 3 weeks in most cases, and she always makes sure to super fill them for me... especially when I am about to travel. I have never had an appointment that has left me disappointed, she makes sure to cover all of my bases and I always leave happy. Over the last few months we have become pretty good friends, but the experience has always been enjoyable. The salon is quite and peaceful, she informs you about your lashes so they can last longer and be healthy, but most of all she is truly talented at what she does. She's also pretty fast! I drove down from Long Beach to get my lashes filled. I have even modified my appointments to better help accommodate other clients per Carly's request, since we have known each other for so long. But let me tell you about my horror story with Carly. During my last lash fill I was asked how she could make her dog into a "service" dog so she could bring him to work without "getting sued". As someone with a disability who has an actual service dog, this question was offensive and hurtful, technically asking me how to break/bend the law. I left in tears. Days later I received an email stating that I had been refunded and will not be allowed to return as a client from here on out. I tried to reach out to Carly to clarify, never to get a response. I feel it is important that other current clients and potential new clients know of this hugely inappropriate business interaction. I have been dealt a HUGE injustice only to be cold shouldered. She was in the wrong and instead of doing damage control she dropped a client who has been nothing but faithful because SHE made me cry during a lash appointment. All and all, I was punished for having my feelings hurt by a coward who can't clean up her own mess. Way to lose a client and a friend.

I've been getting my lashes done since 2009, way back when they were still unheard of (and thus, my secret super power). As you can imagine, I've had a lot of experiences over the years with different lash technicians. Lots of good, and lots of bad experiences. Still, I find it hard to avoid lash extensions, because they make me look so pretty 24/7 :) I don't really want every girl out there to be pretty and have beautiful eyes, but in my years of experience, I have to support really good lash technicians so they stay in business. I've found my favorite technicians before and kept them a secret from friends and family. But because they didn't get enough clients or whatever, they had to close down shop and work somewhere else. I don't want that to happen to Alma, because it's a real struggle to find someone good at lash extensions especially in Dana Point/San Juan Capistrano area. And yes, I've been to the limited choices you see in the search results for lash extensions in Dana Point/SJC and I was horrified at the awful job I paid for. I immediately regretted it as soon as I saw what they did. No, I don't want to leave negative reviews for that other lash place in DP, but trust me. Don't go anywhere else, but to Alma. Or if you really want to, try a different place and then try Alma. You'll see and feel the difference, literally. I can't speak for San Clemente, but I don't know if they'd be good enough or worth the money. I know for sure that the only thing that matters when finding a lash extension place or technician is that they have to know what they're doing and do it well with quality products. Because if you go somewhere cheap or someone inexperienced/careless/distracted, your lashes can feel really uncomfortable, look obviously fake, don't look any different, you can get an eye infection or irritation or allergy. Or worse --- look absolutely horrifying with spider legs looking eyelashes. Some ladies don't realize that their lashes are not applied well and they don't know the difference. If you look at Alma's work, you will know that lashes are supposed to look natural. Long, beautiful, lush, and voluminous lashes, without obviously looking like you had something done. It's hard to explain, but you have to look at the pictures of her work to see it. That's what you should look for in your lash extensions, you can't tell the lashes are fake. Alma uses very light weight lashes and the lashes are super comfortable, I forget I even have lashes on sometimes. If you've never had lash extensions before, I suggest googling it and doing your best research on the pros and cons. There are some serious points to consider before trying lash extensions for the first time or even the hundredth time. For one, lash extensions are kind of addicting. And two, although it's nice to just wake up pretty, you still have to take care of the lashes. Avoid eye makeup. Absolutely no mascara (not that you'll need it if it's applied correctly). Wash around your eyes. Don't rub your eyes. Don't touch your lashes unnecessarily. Don't sleep on the side of your face. Brush your lashes gently with a tiny brush. No oil based makeup or oil based facial products at all. Stay away from heat like an oven or when the chef at Benihana sets the volcano onion on fire. Apply lash growth serum to minimize lash thinning. And you'll need a "refill" of lash extensions in a few weeks. Yes, I want to be pretty all of the time and it's made possible by lash extensions. If you can look your best all of the time, why not? And with minimal effort! But you know, you do you. We don't all have to be pretty ;)
