My last night in town and some cousins and I decided to go to Rivals. I enjoyed the vibe. It's a small and intimate setting. The music was great old mixed with new music! The drinks were delicious. They have hookahs for rent as well. They didn't have a food menu so I'm gonna guess they don't serve food. There are food trucks on the block not too far from the establishment. If you're not sitting at the bar, you'll just walk up on the side closet to the door to place your order. read more

Ordered the southwest chicken rolls and waited over ten minutes for them which was not an issue at all. They came out barely warm, the middle was cold. We sent them back and the waitress came back seconds later with the exact rolls microwaved! Disgusting! Seen from the freeway, but just enough off the beaten bath of highway 50, Rivals is a great spot to stop in for beer and a bite. The interior is pretty with lots of natural wood, a unique and stylish long bar, warm lighting and a variety of seating options. The multiple sets of rowed tappers on the ceiling make for fun and creative decor, so don't forget to look up! Rivals has a nice menu, full bar and a great selection of beers. I had the Downeast Blackberry Cider, at the recommendation of the owner who just happened to be sitting at the bar with us, and it was INCREDIBLE! If you are a fan of ciders, it's a must try. The subtle tartness was smooth, refreshing and delicious. For dinner, my husband ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and I opted for the Grilled Chicken Wings with Stingin' Honey Garlic Sauce. The bun on the Cheesesteak was soft but not soggy, the sliced beef was tender and pulled apart nicely, and the onions and green peppers were in perfect balance, adding a nice but not overwhelming flavor to the sandwich. My chicken wings were fantastic, and while the sauce was absolutely delicious I did not find it particularly "stingin." Which makes it perfect for those who want only a little kick. One of the girls working the bar was a little slow, but she was friendly and treated us well. It was great to talk to the owner and get his take on menu items, beer selections and general information about the restaurant. The only "issue" I had was the women's bathroom. Although clean, one of the two stalls is incredibly small. Even being petite, I found myself feeling quite confined once I shut the door. Rivals was described to me as a place for attorneys (because it's only 15 minutes from the courthouse) and townies, with great wings and very good food. Very true. While there are plenty of options in Kenosha, especially along the main strip, this place is worth a try. Again and again. read more

Earlier this year my girlfriend and I stopped in on our way home from a Packers game. We had a great experience. Service was timely and friendly. Food was great. This was our first time in Wisconsin and we had tried cheese curds everywhere we went, this place had our favorite! Great beer selection and an intimate setting. We stumbled into this place one evening while the power was out at most of the other restaurants in town. And, boy are we glad we did! This is a chill local bar with great food and comfortable atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and informed us that it was "Taco Tuesday", so street tacos were $2.25 each. I was instantly excited because I like specials, and these were totally great tacos! I had a chicken, Barbacoa, and pork. All were great! My SO ordered a BBQ burger which was delicious, and we also tried their Mac & Cheese, which was very tasty. They had many beers on draft. I had a local Chocolate Porter for $5, which I thought was a great deal. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back! Rivals Sports Bar is a hidden gem. The outside looks like a house but the inside is a nice bar/restaurant that caters to all. They had plenty of sports on TV and beers on tap. Just had apps tonight and started with the grilled bone in sticky garlic wings and OMG they are worth the price of admission. The bad the barbacoa half nachos and they were ok. Ingredients were fresh I just found it a bit dry and needed a salsa on top. Will for sure go back just for the wings!!! read more

If I could leave a review with 0 stars, I would. Today, I have experienced something that my team and I would have never expected! My team and I arrived here to play beach volleyball in their backyard area. When we arrived, we walked through the bar and straight into the back area where the volleyball courts are located. We were there to play our beach volleyball game and grab some food and enjoy our Wednesday evening. However, I along with my family were ID'd for the first time here randomly. We politely asked why we were being carded when we have never before and the woman working explained that we could not be there unless we were 21 or with our parents if we were under drinking age. Since my sister (who I am the guardian of) is 18 and not of drinking age, she asked that she leaves the bar. I fully understand that 21 is the drinking age and you cannot be sitting at the bar or consuming alcohol under the age but we were not doing that. I would like to highlight that there are literal toddlers and children running around their back area with no problem during these games so I was a bit confused! When I asked why she couldn't stay like the kids, she told me she couldn't be there because I am not her "parent"?? She got fed up with us and directed to the owner when we kept asking questions. & When we were directed to the owner, he told us that we could stay as long as we were okay with paying his "ticket" that he would get if a cop walked in. Everything was fine until I told him that his policy was "misleading." He obviously did not like that a woman was giving him constructive criticism on his business because he stepped IN MY FACE and yelled at me because his "policies" aren't "misleading", according to him. I say that because there are literal children there and he has no way of proving that these children belong to their said "parents" & I also say this because I was not carded here last week when I played either. I even asked my teams and other customers and they have never been questioned about their guests EVER! Obviously, he is not a real businessman because that is not how you handle situations but I get it.. I wouldn't want a minority woman telling me that my business strategies suck!! If we were ID'd at DOOR like normal bars or ID'd every time we come, I would have had no problem with leaving :) Also, if he was respectful to his customers and WOMEN, I would have been perfectly fine as well but I know that's hard for boys :) However, it was the exact opposite, and I highly do not recommend if you are a woman, minority or a customer that doesn't take b.s.! read more

We've gone to this place every Thursday since my fiancé is on a volleyball league in the summer and fall. Wings are amazing, chicken tenders are amazing, and veggie burger is amazing! We usually get the pizza when it is $5 off, but unfortunately with Covid we don't want to eat inside the bar and we no longer get the coupon. We got the bbq chicken pizza and it was $20 for a 16". We will not be ordering their pizza anymore if we won't dine in. It's just not worth the $20 in our opinion. Haven't had the food there yet, but we did stop for some drinks and some volleyball. Their bartenders are very kind and fast at serving drinks for everyone there. Great service! And the ambiance was great as they have a very large deck and patio, perfect for large groups to lounge around and play some cornhole if you aren't up for volleyball (they have 2 large sand courts) and an outdoor hose to wash off. Their women's bathroom stall doors might be to big for the bathroom or the bathroom might be too small for those stall doors lol. Will be back! read more

My husband left his polo jacket there and when he called and asked if someone turned it in they told him no, so I called back 2 weeks later (because I know that's where it was left) they had it. When I picked it up tonight I had mentioned something to the bartender and I said my husband called and asked about it and they told him that it wasn't found and she had a huge attitude with me and rolled her eyes at me. All I wanted was an apology. On top of that the jacket was being worn because it smells like nasty women's perfume all over it. My husband and I come in there all the time and spend money and for them to just be rude and lazy is unacceptable, the bartenders are supposed to be the face of the business and when you have snobs working there it makes people not want to come in. read more

Owner harrasses drivers by following them and giving them ominous looks before they have even left the eatery to deliver food ranting about complaints of people complaining about their food being "rummaged" through and not delivered fresh though I've delivered very few times.I also seem to recall feeling a hand on my shoulder or shoved or "touched" out the door--regardless the owner stood ominously close to me as well yelling, making me feel unsafe and in need of self-defense, condescending, yelling because I went out a door marked "exit" simply because it's not the same door I came in: Paranoid, accusatory, mean-spirited, holier-than-thou, spoiled brat, silver-spooned owner who has never had a problem in his life apparently. We have come here pretty often when. We visit Kenosha. However, something really bothered me yesterday and it was the transparency about the bar. Unless you request a single serving in a mixer, they charge you for a double. In know way shape or form were we asked about a single or a double. There aren't signs posted anywhere. I think that sucks when you get tour tab at the end of the day. Where we are from, it's a single unless you request a double. The food was pretty terrible yesterday as well. Inalways get the taco salad and it's always really good. I thought I would go for the street tacos. I barely choked down the first one. It was way to salty. We might end up going to Uncle Mike's next time. We were truly disappointed in yesterday's visit. read more

I always have fun at Rivals! Good beer selection, great good, and reasonable prices. The wings and pizza are really good, and I've never eaten anything there that I didn't like. It can get busy, especially when there is a party, but service tends to keep up pretty well. The back patio is awesome and a great place to hang out in the summer. I was part of a group of four that went there for the first time this past Saturday. I was very pleasantly surprised by how CLEAN it was. The tables were clean, the bathrooms were clean, the bar was clean. I was afraid it was going to be old and dirty but it was pleasant, brightly lit, and clean. It is a sports themed place that you can safely bring friends to. I am not an alcohol drinker, but the rest of my group was pleased. We go to Rivals every Monday to play volleyball and have a few drinks with friends. It has always been a good time until a really uncomfortable situation occurred. I received and paid for a tap beer and it tasted as if there was standing dirty water in the glass. I let 3 of my friends have a sip before I told the bartender. He got me another beer immediately and the bad tasting beer was left in front of me. The owner came over and said "What is the problem?" I explained and he said "I just tasted the beer and it's fine." He then made me pay for my new beer and asked rudely if anyone wants to finish the full bad beer. Again I told him everyone said it was funny tasting so he could have it. A customer shouldn't have to defend themselves if they think something doesn't taste good. Nice looking bar inside with a good tap selection and a big old shuffle board table. We went on a Monday afternoon and other than one other gentleman we were the only customers. HORRIBLE. I have been going to Rivals for many years. My dad and I often go there for lunch or with friends and family. I live right down the road across the interstate so it's is nice and close and convenient. During lunch there are nice bartenders and good service. One night I went in with my boyfriend to have a drink. It was around 9:30 and there was not a lot of people there. The short man bartender was almost annoyed at us being in there. So we went and sat at the other side of the bar away from him to give him his space. We were just chatting, and than I saw a MOUSE run across the bar top. My boyfriend has worked at many restaurants and I understand that a lot of restaurants have mice, my dad is an inspector for the state and I have heard much more horrific stories. But for a mouse to be comfortable enough to come up in front of people and run across the bar top, means there are a lot and have been there for awhile. My boyfriend and I began to walk out and let the bartender know what we saw and he said thank you and have a good night. Not very accommodating. I love rivals and have been telling everyone this story just because I am very disappointed in the costumer service and cleanliness. read more
