We've been here 9 times in the past 12 months and really enjoyed our experiences…read more We saw the Hitchcock series. That was really well done. We saw some movies that were unfamiliar to me. This time we saw Father Mother Sister Brother. 3 stories about family dynamics. It was a slow movie with great acting according to my husband, but no action. I'm more of an action kind of girl. My husband liked the movie so much that we went home and the next week he looked up other movies by the director and found one. He was thrilled and really enjoyed that one too. The seats could be more comfortable. It's an old theater with old seating so you can imagine that they are only so comfortable for so long and then your butt gets tired of sitting on them and then you get the wiggles. Parking is great. They share a private lot with the Tower Cafe. Movie times are ok. It's tough to get the right movie time so you can plan dinner at the Tower Cafe while they are still open and not get out of work till 5pm. This movie time was at 4:15 or so and we had to get our of work early to catch the movie. Our bosses were nice and they let us out early this time, but it's a challenge.

They also have different events where they will play throwbacks and classics, for example Studio Ghibli films or Stanley Kubrick movies for a week or two. It's not a big theatre, I believe they only have 3ish rooms playing movies. I love that so much hasn't changed and you absolutely feel the originality of this place. They sell popcorn, candy, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The prices are good and if you sign up for an Angelika account you can get discounts and free tickets. I would definitely recommend coming here at least once!

It's the kind of event we get all hyped about, then halfway through we're like, "Why did I wear jeans and who charges $14 for a lemonade? I'm there for the concerts, the random vendors, and the fact that there's a beer garden and a cannabis area now?! Color me impressed. That infused slushy on a hot day? yaaaas Is it the greatest event of the year? Nah. But do I look forward to it (almost) every single year? Yep. Especially when they drop the concert schedule! Nothing like reliving your teen years with artists you used to blast on your radio. Yeah, I'm that old now.

Very grateful as both my boys took the time to spend the day! A little disappointed with the exhibits - which we all love to see- the one exhibit was more like an empty building with a few vendors selling.. The livestock building only had goats- might have went at the wrong time-.. My oldest son had a very good observation point- When we walked by the seals- they were blaring out music-and one can only imagine the seals enduring that for how many hours-.. Massive corn dogs were $19.99 - better than last year which was all dough- Cinnamon rolls with a new Tres leches variety!". Glad we made it down... and looking forward to another year..

Season tickets for Sunday matinees, a fun theater experience!…read moreTheater in the round, great views from almost any seat.

Update! Since my last review in 2022, I've seen RENT (2023), Spongebob Squarepants (2024), Waitress…read more(2024), Jersey Boys (2024), and In the Heights (2025) at Music Circus (UCD Health Pavilion). I generally prefer weekend matinees, but have also done weeknight shows. Due to the circular staging, every seat in the house is a great view. Sometimes the action is in the aisles or overhead! As with Broadway Sacramento at the SAFE PAC, they do electronic tickets as well as paper tickets/will call from the box office. There is a bag check but I'm not sure about the leniency of the bag size policy. There is a courtyard with tables and chairs, but I don't know if you can bring outside food through the gate (definitely not inside the theater). There is a subscriber's lounge for seasonholders before/after the show. Concessions are available, one line forms outside for the window to order near the main entrance, and in the hallway at the other end is another stand if you're feeling like popcorn, soda, Gunther's ice cream, water, etc. @sacmusicals also usually has a backdrop/step-and-repeat photo opportunity with props which is available before, during intermission, and after the show. The snaking queue for the ladies' room may seem like a lost cause, but the tag team of bathroom attendants at the restroom near the main entrance are on top of it to keep everything moving! No less than three staff were directing patrons to open stalls and further led them to an exit door out to the courtyard so it didn't create two-way traffic jams. Props to them, this is not a minor thing! Very efficient, especially with only a 20-minute intermission. Dress code is lax, but if you're dressed for the triple-digit summer weather outside, know that inside they do keep it pretty chilly. Parking at the Memorial Garage is super convenient, reserve in advance to save at least $5. The 2025 season had: Footloose, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Million Dollar Quartet, Hello, Dolly!, West Side Story, In the Heights so far. The remaining shows are Hair and White Christmas.

Worth noting: you are on long train with 3-4 different experiences and it seems you get different things depending on what you paid for. The my may have a tea, beer train, wine train, etc. We were in the back of the train and got the slowest service and stuck in a car with no AC. Ended up on the open air car and it was nicer. you might be better off paying for the base price; buy a drink or two and call it a day. Don't expect gourmet food here; bring a picnic and eat outside before/after your trip.

Boba Tea train: There were a number of issues with this…read moreexcursion. First off, most of the tea samples came with little to no ice and were somewhat warm. This made some of the undrinkable. Others were somewhat warm cloyingly sweet as to be unpleasant. Overall, though both of us are fans of boba tea- we would suggest a different vendor or more training for the staff preparing the samples. Roughly half of the flavors were not good at all. Additionally, they listed "boozy" flavors on the menu but never said anything about how to get those or whether they were included. Second problem- we preordered dumplings as did apparently a LOT of people. There were no dumplings on the train, only rice bowls. Furthermore- the waitress didn't know what we were talking about when we mentioned having preordered food. At least half of the tables in our car had preordered dumplings and were very disappointed. There was no information on how to obtain a refund if we didn't want the substitute of a rice bowl. About halfway through our trip, the train lost power which included lights, air conditioning, and the ability to flush toilets. Power stayed off with no explanation for more than 15 minutes, causing the car to become very warm and stuffy. Overall, this excursion suffered from lack of communication, lack of staff training, lack of preparation on the part of the organizers. Given the cost, I would not recommend this.

The Parking lot is a little small, so on busy days, you'll have to park by the other business nearby. The lobby is spacious. They have a good selection of snacks. I got pretzel bites one time but most pieces were hard as a rock and inedible. I think it was that particular brand of pretzel bites (spherical) that harden quickly. This theater has a really cool design on the wall with heroes on one side and villains on the other from famous movies. As you walk down the hallway, the image changes from hero to villain. This theater has steps in each theater. Disabled persons seating is in the middle of the theater. Their seats recline. This theater is clean, pretty and gets a good selection of movies.
